Hi guys, just a quick question. Do I need my I-134 notarized by a notary public for my fiance to bring to her interview?
It is no longer a requirement.
Alright, thanks!

Alright everyone, quick question about this I-134 again. I am still unemployed and was just wondering how I should fill out the I-134. Should I put down Unemployed or what not? I would also like to ask if I-864A is the right document for my family member who will help sponsor my fiance. Thanks!

Ok, thanks everyone we're working on the materials now. Hopefully we get finished soon to get it rolling.

judging from what i read, it is asking you to visit this page http://germany.usembassy.gov/visa/k1visa.html Scroll to the bottom where it says "What happens once the petition is approved? and click the link which is here: http://germany.usembassy.gov/visa/kv_processing.html ......good luck
Ok thanks, so I guess we don't need the NVC Received/Left letters? Would I even get those? Cause this is the "Consulate Received" Letter right? Thanks, I know I'm starting to sound like an idiot but I just like things in order

What does the letter say?
This office has received an approved Fiance petition and is ready to begin the process... Also, I noticed in the bottom that it says "Pkt 3 Fiance", will that be sent to us or are there more things supposed to be with this letter?

Hello guys, we just received a letter from the US Consulate in Frankfurt. I guess my question is which one is this letter exactly and should we expect another letter? I never got the NVC Received/Left letter by the way. It says go to the website and such but there's really nothing on that link.... Thanks in advance!

You should be fine like everybody says. As long as you've met the past two years and have proof of relationship then you're good to go! Its just the wait that gets annoying...

Dear all,
On January 20th my fiancee died of a heart attack related to a congenital disorder known as atrial septal defect (basically a hole in the heart). She was just 24 years old. She was diagnosed with the condition last March, and underwent open heart surgery in Cleveland on January 6th. The surgery was deemed a success and Ally was released from the hospital 6 days later. I had been visiting from England since Xmas Eve and flew back on the 13th January. The funny things was that the day I flew home our visa petition was approved! We were both so excited, as this meant I was looking at being back in the States for good around the end of March. I'd even interviewed for a job as a soccer coach in Cincinnati and been offered the position. Everything was looking perfect until I received a phone call from her mother...
I was wondering if anyone knew what I should do to close the K-1 case? Do I need to call the NVC or the US embassy? Any advice is gratefully appreciated.
I also wanted to thank the people on this forum for the help they provided myself and Ally during the whole process and wish you all luck on your journey.
Tom.
Sorry for your loss Tomas. I can not imagine the pain you must feel right now. All I hope is that you get through this soon and find peace and happiness in the very near future...

Alright, thanks everyone again for your never ending help during our filing process. I really hope we all have a fast and hassle free journey!

Hello everyone, I was just wondering if my current unemployment has a huge bearing on my fiance's visa application as I'm a recent graduate still looking for work. Anyways, my father would be helping me sponsor my fiance, but I just wanted to get everyone's thoughts on this issue...

most consulates, Yes, however this is a consulate specific answer.... so I am moving to consulate forum
Alright thanks, just wanted to make sure this is the usual case.

Hello everyone, my fiance and I are just wondering whether we'll have to schedule the doctor's appointment ourselves or does the embassy take care of that for us? Thanks in advance!
-
Thanks everyone for your replies. But is it an absolute necessity to meet up once again? To be honest we're both very poor right now and can't afford the transatlantic flights. Would the consulate in Berlin give weight to the fact that we've lived together for more than a year both here in America and in Germany?
Having lived together is surely good proof! Your interview will be at Frankfurt embassy, that's the only embassy in Germany which gives out K1 visas.
Good luck!
Oh dang, thats the only place that would do give out interviews? Its quite a long way from my fiance who lives in Leipzig...

Merry Christmas everyone! We hope you guys had a brilliant time yesterday! We recently got our NOA-1 from the Cali service center and were just wondering what the next step would be. Do you guys know what types of documents we need to gather up for the next stage of the application? Are there any paperwork not listed anywhere that is usually asked for at the interviews and such?
Alright, thanks in advance for your help and hopefully we can return the favour sometime in the future...

I actually asked the USCIS office in St. Louis if this was possible and the guy I talked to got mad and started questioning if I intended to commit immigration fraud... So in short, apply for the K-1 asap!

It was hard for me and my fiance too. But my suggestion is Skype Skype Skype. We talked as much as possible and it lessens the sadness of being separated. Good luck and I'm sure you'll get through.
