Hello, proof generally is in the forms of pictures with him, pictures with his family, letters, phone call records, airplane ticket stubs ect. I dont see too often about a MENA man sending a US citizen wife money as much proof of relationship.
hi, i'm not a us citizen, and i arrived to us since almost a year, that's why he sent me money..
-
hi, i need to ask about the money receipts when sent as a proof of relationship, is it good to send money receipts or is it going to raise a red flag from the embassy?.. i know it differs from one embassy to another one.. my husband is in SYRIA , the officer requested more proof of relationship after the interview, we didn't submit any money receipts at the time of interview .my husband sent me money recently and we're thinking about the receipt, so, any one please knows about Damascus embassy ? or in MENA embassies in general, we are so confused.. thank you..
-
hi Bajih, how are you, my husband did his interview in Damascus last March and he got administrative process , the officer didn't give him a tracking number or case number, i sent email to the embassy acquiring about my husband's case number in thier website but they didn't answer me,i would like to talk to you more because we are almost in the same boat
-
hi everybody, my husband already did his interview but the co requested moer proof of relationship.
so,i have a question about the phone bills proof or evidence, i use international cards with a landline to call my husband and he calls me also to the landline, now i really need the phone details from my provider which is (fair point communication), i called them and they said that they can't send me or give me any details about the calls i did or received , and he said that i should go to an attorny and go to the court and apply for these informations!! any body can help me with this part please? any one knows how i can get phone details feom fair point??
also , my husband wants to send me some money, do you think the receipt of sending money to me can help as a proof of ongoing relationshhip?? or not..
Fair Point can't provide this information for you because they are your phone company. You used a calling card, so Fair Point didn't complete the connection. You need to contact the company you get your calling cards from.
It's generally not a good idea to provide evidence of money sent, either from you to your husband, or from your husband to you. Either way, it smells fishy to the CO. If he sends you money then they suspect he's paying you to get him a visa. If you send money to him then they suspect he's scamming you for financial and immigration benefits. Lots of us send money to our SO's, for whatever reason, but it's something best not disclosed to the consulate. It doesn't make good evidence, and it raises a lot of questions.
Do you and your husband communicate any other way? Email? Instant messenger? Letters or cards?
i'm really confused about the money receipt now, i also think that it might be not a good evidence, but when they first sent him an interview appointment they asked him to bring photos, emails, phone bills, money receipt... we have to make sure of this point before sending anything...thanks.
Like most things, this can be viewed differently from one consulate to another. A lot depends on the country. Some of the former Soviet states and a few countries in Africa are well know for money scams directed at people in the US and Europe, and consulates in those countries tend to take a dim view on money sent to beneficiaries there. This tends to be less of an issue in southeast Asia and the Pacific islands, but people still recommend against presenting the receipts to the consulates there. I've also heard the argument that it's different when the couple are married, and that the consulate might expect that they would support each other financially. I haven't seen anyone show that this was really true at any specific consulate, though.
Your case is unusual, because you say your husband sent money to you. Frankly, I have no idea if the consulate is going to view this positively or negatively. Maybe you should ask this question in the MENA forum where people have specific experience with your consulate. Did your husband go to Damascus?
yes my husband did his interview in Damascus and the CO requested more proof of relationship now, that's why we need to send new proofs like money receipt. but he has to ask about the counslate their if they suspect about money receipts.

You should be able to get detailed phone bills whether you are using a well-known phone company or a local phone company. Some phone companies will provide you the detailed phone bills (whether you subscribed for online or paper statements) for free and some will charge you a small fee every month for the detailed billing. I used an online phone card (I prepay for it online) and can make calls from any pre-entered phone or use a pin and I can obtain a statement of all the calls I made with the phone card every month. Perhaps you should try it too if it's not too late (www.idphonecard.com). Hope this helps and best lucks to you.
well ,fair point refused to send me any details because i have unlimmited local connection and not nationwide, and i called the card's company they also said that they don't provide this service

My hubby'd interview was not very good, they were very rude to him and he waited there for 4 or 5 hrs before they called his name. they requested my info. he goes back june 1st. its been 17 months since we started this journey. how did your hubby's interview go
thank you and good luck to you.
I cant help you out with the phone question sorry. but my hubby sends me money via Western Union and he took the papers he had to his interview, they did accepts this.Good luck !
thank you for answering me, my husband did his interview in damascus, how was your husband's appointment? did they approve his visa, i really hope every thing went good with you, and thanks about westren union.
my husband's interview was not that good the co asked him many questions about our relationship , he didn't give him enough time to explain every thing and he kept telling him you have to tell the truth to get a visa!! finally he put him in AP and now, after almost 3 months , he requested moer proof of relationship, we're so confused what to send to the embassy, we just have our emails and everyday chatting, and i wil send them notarized letters hopefully this could help.. .
-
Try doing what we did.
Write a formal letter to the company. Have it notorized and send it registered mail to the phone company.
We did this and they emailed me a copy of our phone records. (my email address was added in the letter).
Try this and see if it works.
Good Luck.
Also - get your friends / family to write letters and have them notorized. Get his family to do the same. If they can speak (write) english then have them do it in Arabic and have it translated.
Thank you so much, i will try sending them a notarized letter i hope this helps, i have unlimitted local calls thats why they refuse to provide me with my phone records (as the customer service told me).
i will write a notarized letter and will ask my family to do that.. thanks.

I had the same problem.
I always used phone cards and I had a phone company that did not send a bill with international calls listed on it.
I found out that I had to go to their ONLINE site and see my call history and print it from there, which didn't do me much good because at that point I needed records from 8-12 months prior and well they only keep them as far back as 3 months.
I did keep every phone card I bought, which was a ton and if you look on your call history you may not have your SO's exact number listed but that 800# or whatever # you dial when using the phone card is there with the amount of time you spent talking.
Check it out.
I find it hard to believe you can't get any records from your phone company.
Good Luck
i called the card's company that i use to call, they said that they don't have this service, they don't provide any detail informations. i called fair point (my landline provider) they refused to give me any itemized bill because i have unlimitted local calls only, that's why i'm really confused how to get a phone details..

If the CO asked for additional information at the interview then they should have given your husband a slip of paper describing what they wanted from him. Did he get a slip of paper? If so, what precisely does it say? If not, can you ask the consulate for a copy of the request? Perhaps they mailed the request to him but he didn't receive it. You really need to know the exact wording of the request in order to know what to send them.
Don't be too upset. The fact that they're asking for more information is a good sign. It means they're still considering his case.
yes, my husband got a paper at the end of the interview, this paper includes many boxes of diffirent 221(g), the officer didn't check any of the boxes, he just wrote at the bottom of the paper ( administrative process ) and thats it! and he told my husband we will call you after 2 weeks ! , i know he is in adm. process but no body told him that the officer needs more proof.. we just emailed them by accident and they replied they need more proof,, i'm sure that my husband's case was lying on one of the desks while that we're dying every day.
What does the sheet that your husband received at the end of his interview say?it just says Administrative process
Have you seen the paper that the CO gave to your husband? It sounds odd that it does not tell you what you need to submit. For example, when my wife had her interview she was given a blue sheet pertaining to section 221. That sheet listed specific items (information about ex spouse, correspondence for a specific time period) that needed to submitted. Please check the paper that your husband received. There may be more information there.
yes i saw the paper , my husband sent it to me the same day he got it, it's a printed paper of 221 g includes many reasons for denial or temporary denial but no one of them checked, the officer just wrote at the bottom of the paper ( administrative process ) and he told him that he will review his case again and call him after 2 weeks, well i think the officer decided that my husband's case need more proof but no one of the embassy called to let us know of the officer's decision, we just found that by accident ,i sent an email to the embassy a week ago to inquire about what exactly the officer needs , but yet no body answered me or my husband, i'll wait more 2 days and send them another one again.. i need to know what's going on

i don't have receipts of purchased cards i just have some of the cards i used, and i don't have letters. we didn't thought these letters can help because we chat every day and sendinig letters overseas really makes no sense.
Sending letters is romantic, if nothing else
But you chat every day - what program do you use to chat? Most chat programs (MSN, Yahoo, AIM, Skype...) allows you to save chat logs. Start saving them every day if you can. My fiance and I use Skype and without any input from me, the program has saved chatlogs from December 28th of last year when I installed a new version of it. I'm sure I could've had chat logs from over a year ago if I hadn't bought a new computer and reinstalled everything
we had all our chat logs since 9 months ago, my husband sent them all, and i keep saving all our yahoo chat every day to send them again...
-
Another idea for more proof would be cards and letters sent between both of you with the envelopes to show dates sent. Also, I use a calling card at times too, so what I did was kept copies of the Philippine calling card purchases I made to show I was buying calling cards to save money. Do you have any receipts to show of your purchased calling cards? We will submit all this if need be and once they look at the whole works, I think we will be fine. Gather all you have bewtween you both to use in your defense that your relationship is true and genuine. Even small things count. Good Luck!

Ok, it sounds like you need to send them another email. Tell them that the sheet your husband received after the interview is the ONLY correspondence you've gotten from the consulate since the interview. Tell them that the sheet didn't have any boxes checked, that the CO wrote "administrative process" on it, and that your husband was told they'd call him after two weeks but never did. Tell them you need to know precisely what additional information is being requested so that you can send it to them. Make sure you send the new email as a REPLY to their previous email to you, and that their previous reply is attached, just in case the person who receives the new email is not the same person who previously replied to you.
It sounds to me like somebody screwed up here. Perhaps your case is being investigated (which is usually what AP means), and no additional information was ever requested. In this case, the person who replied to your email probably misinterpreted the status of your case, and just presumed more information was needed. Otherwise, if additional information WAS requested then they somehow failed to notify your husband, or the notification was lost in the mail. In either case, what your husband was told doesn't match what the email said, and you need to find out which version is correct.
thank you for your answer, i sent them email yesterday to explain to me what all this mean, i'm pretty sure that they will repeat the
same email of requesting moree proof.

hi. i'd like to know the best way to call middle east countries... i usually use cards like (extra, incredible,monkey...) to make calls to Syria or Iraq. now i need to get a cell phone, but i'm not sure which is the best especially with international calls and texts.. verizon customer service told me that i can not use the international cards and one text message to syria would cost me about 50 cent , i don't know about at&t or t-mobile but i think it's the same. i need advice about a cell phone with a good international calls and texts offer . what u think?

hi, i know what you're talking about, i think if you tell them you were married and because of your jobs you're not living together, you're officially married, and have your marriage contract, why the heck it's so complicated like this!!
