  1. well they took my medical report too, the sealed envelope. He took out the papers from the envelope and attached 'em to my file. I was asking about the X-ray, they did not take the x-ray. I guess they don't need that. Sorry for the confusion.

My wife just read your post, and she recognized your wife from the questions you have posted...haha...yeah we overheard her interview (oops, sorry for the eavesdropping), it was just before my interview. once your wife got her visa, i got a bit confident that i'll get too, seemed like a happy day at the delhi embassy..haha..

  2. Congratulations!! I also went to the delhi embassy today and my CR1 visa was approved. The whole process was pretty fast and comfortable (with the new lounge they have at delhi embassy).

Asked me just 2-3 questions, who's the petitioner? what does she do?when did you get married. And then he's like okay everything looks in order, congratulations your visa is approved. Didn't look at any of my documents, no photos, nothing.

I have a question though, i carried my sealed x-ray with me along with my medical report, however they didn't take the x-ray and didn't even bother to look at it. What am i supposed to do with this x-ray? Can I open it and keep it for my personal records or does the embassy need it down the line. What happened in your wife's case?

  3. She's just lived in india since May 2008 - like 7 months. Yeah she has US drivers license and SSN too.

one last question hopefully...haha...look where did i start this topic and where it has come...

Do you know in what format the written explanation for domicile needs to be in? A letter ?? Addressed to whom ?? or does it need to be like a TO WHOMSOVER IT MAY CONCERN kinda letter ???

  4. Another question, now that we are going to be haveing two I-864s...what will be the household size in my wife's I864 and her dad's i864 ?

Currently my wife and I stay together in India.

In the US, her father and mother stay together.

    the I864 asks for

Enter the number of immigrants : 1 (in my case)

Persons not sponsored in this affidavit :

    Yourself : 1

If you are currently married, enter "1" for your spouse : So will it be 1 or 0 in my wife's I864? since she already counted me above. In her dad's I-864 it will be 1 for his wife. Is that correct?

If you have dependent children, enter the number here : this should be 0 or 1 in my wife's father's I-864? Should he count my wife or not?

OPTIONAL: If you have siblings, parents, or adult children with the same principal residence who are combining their incomewith yours by submitting Form I-864A, enter the number here. This will be zero in both the I864s rite?

  5. My Wife filed an I-130 for me at the Delhi Embassy, they accepted our application and gave me packet 3.5.

For the Affidavit of support, My wife is filling an I-864 for me along with her father who is filling an I-864A.

We have a few questions though :

    1) Does my wife also needs to fill an I-134 ?

    2) For the I-864 and I-864A we are including photocopies of W2s and 1099 from the last year. Photocopies are fine or do we need to submit the original W2s and 1099s?

    3) Will the last year tax returns be sufficient or is it really required to have last 3 years? The last year ones are way over the 125% poverty guidlines.

  6. Ken - Now you got me thinking, since you say it takes 2-3 months to get PCC from delhi passport office, and I got mine in 3 hours i'm wondering if what I got is sufficient. They basically stamped my passport with a PCC stamp valid for USA. And they also gave me this paper which is the actual PCC and again mentioning USA on it. Is that what you got too?

What is the status on your application, did you get your green card yet ?

  7. Thanks ken. Well i went to the passport office today and got the PCC issued, it took just 2-3 hours, gave the application at delhi passport office at 10 am and they asked me to come back at 12:30, and they gave back my passport with the pcc !!! that was the easiest thing so far.

Ken - I saw this other post where you were asking for NWD Case Number. I have the same problem, i have everything ready but don't know the case number yet. I sent an email to the embassy and they replied back saying :

"We have not received this petition from this I-130 petition from the USCIS/DHS/New Delhi office as yet. Please provide your local address."

How did you get your NWD Case number? I did the same thing, filed the I-130 at delhi consulate and they gave me packet 3.5 on the spot and asked me to submit all docs to VFS office. The packet 3.5 does not contain any case number.

  8. Hello -

My current address and my previous address both fall under the same local police station and District police office. Do I need to submit police clearance certificate for both the addresses or a single certificate for the present address suffice.

I know i need to submit additional PCC from the local passport office, but for the pcc from the district police office i'm not sure if i submit a single one or one for each location of my residence.

    Please let me know.

    Thanks.
