We were told by and Immigration Officer at my Naturalization Ceremony, to get the certificate for my son, because now the Colleges and Universities don't accept a passport as a proof of Citizenship.

Well I am updating Fumes and I Oath Date. I think we didn't want to update it because we are mad that we will have to go to Memphis again to do it (for me is a 6 hours drive), because they are having another ceremony the same date at Knoxville (which is only 1 hour drive for me). I contacted them, and they sent me a letter saying they couldn't change my request to have my ceremony in Knoxville because all the slot are accounted for.... so I just have to go all the way... by myself because my husband will have his at Knoxville...

I received an email today that they scheduled me for my oath ceremony and that they sent me a notice with the date, time and location! Yay!!!

I received a notification that I have been placed in the oath scheduling queue. I just have to wait for the letter in the mail for the exact date. The interviewer told me it could be June 25.

That doesn't mean that your Oath have been schedule, that means that your case is waiting to be schedule. When you receive the following update :"we scheduled you for your oath ceremony and sent a notice providing the date, time, and location."

That's when you should wait for your letter to arrive.

Congrats to all of you that got scheduled for interview, and the ones that already interviewed!!!, I'm just waiting for my Oath schedule that I know it won't be until the end of June. But happy to see that everybody is moving along!

No yet, the only thing I expecting is to be put in the Oath schedule. Because she told me the Oath Ceremony will be at the beginning of July, and normally they send the letter one or two weeks before the date.

I was asked if I want it to drop my mother last name too, I said no, all my documents (green card, drivers license, social) only have my first and middle and one last name, she told me it was ok, that my certificate will have my mothers last name included, but I could continue without using it in my documents, not even my signature includes my mother's last name. so it looks like they offer different info.....

Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm back home from my interview this morning. I was really nervous. My appointment was at 10:30. I noticed other people got there after me and they were called. That made me more nervous. Finally, at about 10:45, I got called. The lady took me into her office. She was really nice and we talked about House of Cards on Netflix and how she was getting over a cold. She went thru my application and then she said everything looked good.

I was asked to read...What country is south of the United States?

I was asked to write...Mexico is south of the United States.

I was asked the following 6 questions...

If the President and the Vice President can no longer serve, who becomes President?

What does the President's cabinet do?

We elect a Senator for how many years?

What did the declaration of independence do?

How many supreme court justices are there?

Name one branch or part of the government?

Bummer that you will have to wait 2 months for the oath ceremony of course, but oh well...

I just realized, today is exactly a month before I officially become eligible for naturalization. So it's game from now on

I still haven't even been placed in line, but I believe this and being scheduled for an interview can happen anytime from now on -since interviews seem to be scheduled about a month in advance. Though, based on my Field Office's time lines from other threads, I think I may not actually be scheduled for another month still, and no interview 'till July, but we shall see.

I passed!!! I'm so happy!! My appointment was at 10:00 am I was there at 9:35, I was called around 10:05 am the officer was a female really nice!!! She start confirming all info from my form and before the "yes and no" answers she stopped and started with my questions:

1. What is freedom of religion?

2. When was the constitution written?

3. What ocean is on the east coast?

4. What state borders with Canada?

5. How many senators?

6. What is the U.S. Capital

Then read: what do we have to pay to the government?

Write: we pay taxes

She then told me that they are gathering people from east TN to have a nice ceremony before the 4th of July, so it looks like I will have to wait longer to have my Oath Ceremony, but is ok since that will mean not having to drive all the way to Memphis for that!!! It was a 6 hour drive!!! Good luck everyone!!!

Thanks!! The letter also says, "Prior to forwarding you case for interview, USCIS has performed a complete review of your file and Application for Naturalization. As a result of that review, we have identified additional documentation may be needed." It makes me think that all my background checks are done. I called the customer service line to see if I shouldn't have put my traffic ticket on the application, but she told me that I should call tomorrow morning because that tier of support is very busy and they are no longer taking calls for the day.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. I received the yellow letter yesterday also 04/14, saying the same thing but asking me to bring my state drivers license or ID. Its funny it says "prior to forwarding your case to interview" when we already have an interview date.

Mine came from NBC. I got the email the morning on 4/1 that I was in line for the interview. Then later in the afternoon, on 4/1, I got the email that I was scheduled for the interview. The letter has a notice day on 4/2 and the postage stamp has a date of 4/3. So it was mailed out 2 days later. I did notice that if I wanted to reschedule, the address to send the notice to is my local office. I hope that helps and if you have any other questions, let me know. I'm sure you'll be getting your letter soon!! Oh, I also read on here that I need to bring more pictures of myself. It seems like all I've been doing this whole time is take selfies of myself for them. LOL!

Yes that is a standard they are counting the time that you maybe will have to wait before they call you. But the interview is normally 10 or 15 minutes.

My interview letter came in the mail today too. Scheduled for May 9th.

Coqueta, Have you gotten your interview letter in the mail yet? I haven't received it and i was hoping to get it sometime this week. It makes me more anxious because I want to know when it's scheduled.

sraj49, I'm hoping to get it today....I am anxious too would like to know when my appointment is gonna be since I have to drive 6 hrs to Memphis!!!

I'm scheduled for an interview!!!!!!!!!!

Just a thought for those who applied as soon as their ninety-day eligibility window opened: if you get invited to interviw before the third-/fifth-year anniversary (depending on what statute you applied under) of becoming a Legal Permanent Resident, would you have any qualms about not satisfying the three-/five-year time requirement for naturalisation?

With the three cases happening above, this seems like a fair likelihood in at least some of the cases. Alternatively, and this question is for any of engineer21, bennobot and coqueta: how long after your eligibility window did you apply?

I'm applying based in the 5 years rule, and my eligibility date was January 2012.

So, what is normal procedure time between in line - and have scheduled interview? Are we talking about weeks or months?

I have a friend that got the message of in line for interview at noon and then at 6:15pm got the message that she was scheduled for interview and was letter sent, she had the same office as me, Memphis, TN. Her timeline was as follow:

01/22/14 Package Sent

02/21/14 Fingerprints

02/24/14 In line for interview

02/24/14 Scheduled for interview

03/31/14 Interview....She passed!!!

In line for interview...Yay!!!
