  1. That is of course if you are choosing to pursue the CR-1 visa. If you are only going for the K-3 then you can ignore everything from NVC (except their letter saying they've mailed the case off to the embassy).

Thanks so much....I have applied for a K-3 Visa but the NVC tells me that this needs to be filled out.

  2. Being that the VSC has such horrible employees I'm thinking of writing a letter to Paul Novak who is the director of the VSC. I'm not sure if this will help my case or maybe I'm sabotaging myself, but I won't just sit around and wait. Perhaps you guys will write letters too and make an impact on him. Or even better, can anyone find out who is Paul Novak's boss?

  3. I just want to know how many of you had a lawyer submit your application? I decided to do it all myself cause I think to pay $3,000 to fill out an application is just too much. Now I'm wondering if by hiring a lawyer the process would have moved faster.

I'm so desperate that I'm willing to volunteer myself at the Vermont Center on my days off to try to help myself and others move their applications faster. I'm going insane!!!!! :bonk:

  4. This immigration process has me feeling very depressed and impotent. I see on TV how these celebs adopt kids all over the world and bring them back the same day. How do they do it? Who do they know? How much do they pay? There are ways to accelerate the process but I need to know, what's the secret?

  5. Almost everyone wants it to go faster - I havent seen any good way. USCIS has criteria for an expedite, but even then, they may not be willing to help.

Regarding paystubs - for the interview, you will need to send an I-134 form, this is in relation to your income. You need to be 125% of poverty level at a minimum.

I filed just after you, so I me an hundreds of others here understand your frustration.

I'm not sure what "You need to be 125% of poverty level at a minimum" means. I don't drive a BMW, I work 40+ hours a week, and I rent.....so that should give you an idea of my financial situation.

  6. Hi Everyone,

I'm an American citizen and my wife is overseas. I can't believe this process takes so long. We got married in July and I'm currently living alone here in the US. I received a letter from USCIS saying that they received my I-130 and I-129F on October 28. I got the receipt numbers and I check daily to see if any progress has been made, but nothing. I'm hearing that it will take them 6 months to process my application and another 6 months at the embassy to schedule my wife for an interview. This is ridiculous!!!!!! Do you guys know anyway I can have this process move faster?

Another question, I keep hearing that USCIS needs to see how much I make a year, but nowhere in the application did it request my pay-stubs. Did I miss something?

But most important, can anyone let me know of a way I can move this faster and have my wife with me soon!! I greatly appreciate it!!!!!

    Thanks again,
