  1. I have been told by others who went for their interview at USEM (u.s. embassy manila) that they won't allow cell fone inside the embassy and the guards won't accept it either..my husband will be going to his interview next week,.and he will be traveling alone, no one to hold his cell while he is there..

Is this true? that no guard inside will accept and let them leave the cell fone inside the vicinity of USEM?

    please let meknow? thanks:)

only US citizens can bring cell phones but will still leave them with the guard. you can leave the cell phone outside for a fee i think 150 pesos......

  2. Hello to all the VJ members,

I plan to have a vacation in Philippines with my baby boy when I receive my new green card(hopefully it won't be long).I want to spend time with my family especially with my mother and probably spend christmas there. My father died last year and I was not able to go home because of my pregnancy so it was really sad.Anyway, my son has his US passport already and my husband will just make a letter of consent when we're ready to leave as he will not be traveling with us.My question is do I need to prepare any other documents aside from his passport/letter of consent from his father? To all my kababayan's who went to PI for vacation with their children please I need your help.

Thank you guys and happy valentines. (L)

    Bituin

you need to bring birth certificate......it will be asked esp in immigration unit in manila.

  3. I just wanted to let everyone know that my both of my wife's petitions were approved yesterday 2/11/09 at VSC. Thank you to everyone who has answered all of my questions and read my posts when I was feeling down. I'll keep the rest of you in my thoughts and prayers that you all may reunited with your families very soon. Looks like we are going the Immigrant Visa route since my wife will be giving birth in the next 8 weeks. Thanks again everyone! NVC, here I come :):dance:

have you thought of requesting to expidite ...... i mean if you have all your docs ready.

  4. Let me get this straight...your CR-1 got approved but the K-3 is in AP? That makes absolutely no sense! You would think that they would be more stringent in issuing a CR-1 than a simple K-3 visa. I was thinking to just pursue the K-3...now I might have to reconsider again... :(

yes, our CR1 got to NVC on 1/3 whereas our K3 got there 1/5.....then CR1 completed 1/30 and sent to us embassy on 2/4 while our K3 still on administrative processing. I'm actually aiming for the Cr1 for the obvious reasons so things worked just as fine.......i was just looking at things as a matter of principle, i meant that K3 should have been faster.

  5. is it that allowed i mean while processing the cr 1 at the same time the k3?

many people think that K3 is the route but think again!!.......in my case my cr1 has been completed and sent to embassy on feb 4,2009 yet my k3 petition is still on administrative processing. it's good to file for both petitions coz you'll never know!

once you get your NOA1 after sending your I-130 petition, you can apply for K3. you need the NOA1 copy for k3 petition. normally k3 is faster since it is supposed to give the foreign spouse a non immigrant visa to come to US and wait for the Cr1 to be completed.......but in our case, our K3 got stuck in NVC administrative processing while our CR1 is already completed and on its way to manila. some people ignore the cr1 and just continue with the K3 route thinking it's the fastest way.....my advice is to keep pursuing both petitions coz you'll never know what will go through first!

Please help all those who are almost done and are experts now.no. mail the AOS barcode receipt with the AOS form plus last 3 yrs of w2 copies to nvc........separately mail the iv barcode receipt with the ds230 form and all the original supporting documents to nvc
  7. Fellow VJ'ers

Hello guys my husband just called awhile ago and yes we got our NVC case number. Now that we have our case number is it okay to send my email for my DS 3032 and if yes what should I expect to happen or received? I have read the shortcuts Im just nervous to do something wrong., PLease help.:)

    Thanks to ya'll

    MMW

yng samin everyday namin iemail at nagsend din kami ng original.....pagkaaccept nyan iready mo yng AOS at mga copies ng income tax ect at the same time yng Ds230. u can check our timeline kc phil dn kami.

  8. My CR1 petition was completed at NVC......but the interesting thing is that our K3 petition is still under administrative processing!!! NVC said it was two different petitions and the decision of one has nothing to do with the other! what?!!! isn't the K3 suppose to bring my spouse here while waiting for the CR1 to be completed? well, i guess there are exemptions to the rules hahaha!!!!

  9. The automated system only tracks Immigrant petitions I-130 not the I-129F which is for a NON-Immigrant K-Visa.

Keep both moving through NVC, with luck the CR-1 may reach the consulate arounfd the time of K-3 interview getting the interview switched to a CR-1 interview.

If you wish to immediately take a Job after entry to the USA, the K-Visa is NOT the way to go.

If considering K-3 think carefully about it. CR-1 and K-3 tend to take about the same time, K-3 may save you about a month, however the K-3 has the added pain of adjustment of status, and it NOT a work authorized visa, so also has the added period of limbo waiting for EAD to be able to do things like take a job, get SSN, etc...

For the most part CR-1 tends to take a bit longer than K-3 to get if you prepare for NVC when they request I-864 fee, and Visa fee, as well as documents requested by NVC. In many cases the CR-1 petition reaches the consulate just before K-3 interview, which causes K-3 to get dropped and the interview becomes a CR-1 visa interview.

    K-3:

    I-130: $355

    I-129F: NONE

    Consulate: $131

    AOS: $1010

    ($1496)

    CR-1

    I-130: $355

    NVC I-864: $70

    NVC Visa fee: $400 ($355+$45)

    ($825)

I see many posts from K-3 holders stating, "Wow this sucks, I am stuck at home because I don't have EAD, DL, etc, or I am having hard time getting added to bank accounts because of NO SSN." K-3 has a 90 day or longer period of limbo while waiting for EAD or Green-card.

K-3 was developed at a time when CR-1 was taking much longer that today, NVC has greatly streamlined the CR-1 process to the point where K-3 becomes irrelevant.

Moving this to the NVC forum.

i didn't know that the automated line doesn't track I-129! tnx for the info!!! you're right, i intend to keep both petitions going and to hopefuly take whatever k3 interview date for the cr1 nterview. do happen to know how they switch the interview petitons from k3 to cr1 with the k3 interview schedule? does it go thru NVC or embassy? tnx again!

  10. i know that NVC has different areas to consider in processing a petition....but administrative processing??!! LOL! i think that's a nice way of letting us know to stop calling them and just wait for whatever forms or requirements they need thru the mail! come to think of it, NVC operators most likely recieve hundreds of phone inquiries a day.........i wonder if they want to migrate to another country after a hard day's job! LLLOOOOLLL!

  11. Has anyone emailed the DS-3032 in? Do you recommend it?

Does my husband have to email one in as well?

HE will be receiving all the information, I'll send/email one in saying that HE will receive all communication.

    ....anyone recommend this? http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Jame%27s_Shortcut

we mailed our ds3032 even though it has not been generated by NVC yet, but we also email it everyday until it is finally entered in NVC system.

  12. after months of endless waiting, our petition for I-130 and k3 finally got approved dec 23, 2008. to this date our k3 is still not in the nvc system.....they gave us our case # but it's funny how it's still not updated in the system. well i guess this waiting game just reached a different level! the nvc surely has it's way of knocking off the excitement after the long awaited uscis approval!

  13. My wife has her interview for IR1 in 1 week. Strangely, she received a packet V a few days ago(which we have already submitted everything except medical - she has already had done). She is reading everything very closely and notices that her passport will expire Aug 8, 2009. That will be more than the 6 months required (she also says her paperwork specifies 8 months, not 6 months like everywhere else I read). She can't possibly renew it that fast. The information she has on renewal is 1 month processsing and is now an e-passport, no longer just using stamps. Anyone know if this is a problem?

just go with the passport she has, it's too risky to do any renewals at this point.....i mean things happen and might cause certain delays with the renewal. it's better to have a passport with that much expiration date than go for the interview with no passport at all ( if in case you renew it and does not get to you on time)

  14. I spoke to my lawyer's assistant today about my I-130 petition, she told me to fax her my birth certificate because se didn't include it with the petition (im the beneficiary). She said she was going to mail it in today and that there wouldn't be any problems. I checked the Uscis website for the I-130 instructions and it doesn't say you need to send in the beneficiary's birth certificate. Do any of you know if my birth certificate is needed now? And if it isn't at what point of the process will it be needed? Also if it is needed now will there be any problems with my petition because we're sending the birth certificate in a separate package?

    Thank you

yes you need to send a certified copy, if it's just a xerox that will be another RFE. all docs should be original or certified copies. keep a xerox copy for the interview.

  15. so i don`t know what to say for reals does anyone out there still not touched not transfered to CSC so it`s up for 6 months now and i am totally lost where am supposed to go or to call PLEASE if anybody still in the same boat keep this topic up to date just to keep our hopes a life and please if anyone got approved from VSC recently let us know
