  1. Thanks everyone. I figured we were okay but with so many things during this process it is nice to be able to get some feedback on VJ to help you freak out a bit less during the process. I feel so much better after Caroline passed her interview and can almost relax now. I am sure we will have plenty more exciting and confusing paperwork to look forward to when filing for advance parole, adjustment of status, ssn, etc. but I feel like its all down hill from here. At least we can fill it out together. So, I guess she will roll up the giant x-ray, put it in her pocket and get on the plane.

    Thanks again,

  2. Hi all,

    Caroline had her interview today and got approved! She is going to write up a review to post on the London embassy section as soon as she can.

    Two questions:

    - When she got home she realized they didn't take any of her passport photos. Her police report came with a photo attached (I had read that photos are often stapled to the police report at the embassy) is this anything to worry about?

    - Does she need to bring her chest x-ray to America? Will we need this for anything?

    Thanks

  3. You are correct, tax returns are not specifically mentioned in the instructions, except for self employed, but they are universally required.

    Thanks for the info. I will be sure to send Caroline copies of my, and my mothers, last tax returns.

    This is what drives me nuts about this process. The fact that there are things that are never specifically mentioned, but they can reject you for not having.

    Thanks again,

    Dave

  4. I was in business school and did not make the required income the last two years. My mother completed the I-134. The instructions for the I-134 (listed below) make no mention of tax returns but I have read people saying they are needed. Does anyone know what the guideline is for this?

    Statement of your employer on business stationery, revealing:

    1. Date and nature of employment;

    2. Salary paid;

    3. Whether the position is temporary or permanent.

  5. Hi,

    I was unaware of visa journey when I made my initial I-129F application, and what a journey this is, and didn't make a complete copy of the application. I have digital copies of the G-325 and the I-129F but some of the pictures I sent were originals as were the handwritten statements we wrote out.

    We have many, many pictures etc and other evidence, so that doesn't worry me. My question is: do I need an exact copy of the packet I first sent in, or will similar statement, photos, etc. suffice?

    Thanks to everyone for all your help.
