    If you were to be traveling out of the US, trying to get a job, or being pulled over by the police or something else, and you didn't have that letter while your card was expired (currently it takes about 4 months to get the ROC done, so most likely the card expires before you have a new one), then you would be in trouble. This letter basically prevents that.

    It kind of means you have nothing to worry, even if your greencard expires for a month or even two. They could give 6 months extension, but what if your petition fell behind the central heater, or someone spilled coffee on it, and it would be delayed a month or so? The year is more secure :)

    Good afternoon fellow september filers :star:

    My husband and I had our interview today, and we are APPROVED :dancing:(F):energy::jest::dance:

    The interview went well, he asked a few questions, and we gave him papers to prove our relationship.

    He said I should be getting my GC within 6 weeks. ( From others here it seems they get it faster?)

    WOW YEAH!!! I am so relived and happy to be done with USCIS for almost 2 years!

    To everybody still waiting, I will keep my fingers crossed :thumbs:

    I had almost given up hope that I would ever get to put all the happy smileys in a post here.

    But I just got home and checked my email and there was one from CRIS :D

    Saying:

    I went for my infopass today, talked to a real nice woman there. Very helpful and understanding.

    She didnt understand much of the letter I got yesterday.

    But she checked the case in her system, and it didnt say anything there about a second RFE.

    She asked her supervisor to contact the MSC, where my case is.

    And then she said to me - If you havent gotten the interview letter in 2 weeks, contact us again.

    So now I will keep my fingers crossed that my interview letter will get here soon.

    When it came to the EAD, she said they are backed up, which I am sure is true. But according to Envy_me `s list here (Which I know not everbody is on that) but seems most sept. filers got their EAD.

    I hope they will look into my case now and

    hopefully give me some good news soon. ;)

    No RFE and a possible interview in 2 weeks... sounds like long-awaited progress, and hopefully some confirmed good news. Good luck!!

    Good thing there was no second RFE! Their systems are pretty messed up if you ask me!

    I have a feeling things will work out for you pretty soon. That false RFE in the system might have just blocked your EAD, who knows.

    Anyways, I hope you have a better feeling having had the infopass and here`s to a speedy EAD production :thumbs:

    And to everybody who already started with their new jobs...let`s give this economy a boost, shall we!

    I finally received the magical mail in my inbox...

    Card production ordered (EAD)

    When I got todays mail, there was a letter from USCIS.

    I held my breath as I opened it, hoping it would be my interview letter....

    As I cut open the envelop I noticed a yellow letter, :blink: thats when I new it would be bad news.

    Cause when I got my RFE, that was a yellow paper.

    There were 2 letters in the envelop, one about the service request I put in in december.

    And in that letter they explained why I hadnt gotten my EAD, cause apperently they sent me a RFE,

    and they attached a copy of this RFE. (The yellow one I got)

    It is excatly the same RFE as I recived in beging of oct.

    But the confusing thing now is that my first RFE was dated oct. 3, and on oct.21 it said online that they had recvied my RFE and started processing my case again. The RFE i got today is dated oct 23. And USCIS says in todays letter, that they send this to me. But I have never seen it before....

    I am totally confused, if they did send me a second RFE oct. 23,which I never got, I am already past the 87 days of which I had to replay.... :o

    But on my online page it never said they sent me a second RFE, it still says they recvied my RFE on oct 21. :wacko:

    What are they doing?!?!?!?!??! :angry::wacko::protest::ranting:

    This is driving me insane :bonk: (This is excatly how it feels, I am the one getting hit in the head and the USCIS is holding the hammer and smiling)

    I decided that to call the USCIS would be a total waste of time, and would make me more frustrated.

    Instead I made a infopass appointment, and I was lucky - My appointment is tomorrow.

    It's crazy! You had a good instinct to take the infopass and lucky you have one tomorrow! they'd better give a straight answer of what's going on! I hope they'll realize they'd made a mistake and cancel this RFE and approve you tomorrow! Good luck!!

    I read your post, and I am so sorry. I totally share in your pain, anger and frustration.

    Cannot believe they would be able to mess that up.

    Like you say I guess nothing surprises us......

    I really hope you get a helpful person on the phone tomorrow that can straighten this out!

    I hope there will be no problem.

    But did your friend get the EAD before the GC?

    a FRIEND did this and did nothing.......and he

    got his green card just fine.

    I wouldn't do anything at this point.

    This morning Damon and I did our favorite acivity these days: calling USCIS!!!!

    Their website is still locked for me...and of course at the same time I asked them to check on my status. Nothing new on my EAD, but she told us that our AOS had been recently sent to my local office! youhooou! I hope they will start working on my application soon!

    Maybe that's why everybody 's been touched yesterday, they sent all our applications to local offices! ;)

    P.S. Am I the last one still waiting for EAD approval or what?! :huh:

    And I learned that I wrote the wrong codes on my 765 application. :wacko:

    Yeaaah! We are the biggest loser of the year! lol

    What code are you talking about? C(9)?

    Did you put a service request? did you hear anything from them since it's been more than 90 days? Did you get a letter or sth?

    Yes the C(9) code, don't know where my head was, but I put down a(6) :blink:

    I put in a service request after 90 days when they received my AOS package.

    Which all that happens then it seems, is they give you a long number....

    Then I had an infopass appointment in the end of December.

    All he told me, was that I had to wait 90 days from when the USCIS received my RFE.

    And next week will be 90 days from that.

    And he also said I had filled in the wrong code....so I am worried.

    Can we believe that the USCIS are able so figure out which code I should have put and correct it ( I am worried that might be to much to ask :wacko: ), or will they send me another RFE??? :bonk:
