  1. Hello everybody. I would like to ask something regarding on how to fill up the I-130.

    Here's the situation.

I am a permanent resident (not US citizen yet) and would like to petition my daughter, who is over 21 and unmarried. I'm originally from the Philippines but currently living in Seattle, WA. My daughter is currently working in the United Arab Emirates and she's been working there for several years now and probably no plans to go back to live in the Philippines permanently again anytime soon.

My question is.....on the I-130, when filling up the relative part, do I write her address in the Philippines even though she's working in the UAE for so long?

    OR

Shall i write her address in the UAE?

My daughter visits the Philippines every other year, and she visits us here in the US every 2 years. (she has a 10 year visitor visa).

    Thank you guys.

  2. Hello. I would like to ask something about the approved petition of my parents. Here's the case...

My uncle who is a US citizen petitioned my father and mother in 1987 and got approved this year. Everything went just fine and now they got their visa packet. It's the envelope that says "DO NOT OPEN". My parents received 2 visa packets; 1 for my father and 1 for my mother. The thing is, my father wants to go to the United States this February, while my mother wants to go there in April.

    So my questions are:

    1. Is it okay for them to depart from Manila, Philippines in two different dates although they were petitioned as husband/wife???

    2. Will there be a problem at the Port of Entry if only 1 departs and the other leave behind???

I don't know what to tell my parents. I told them that it's probably better and safer if they depart together than immigrate to the US in different dates.

Please if anyone knows, please reply. Or what's your opinion. Thank you very much.

  3. Now that the new year has come we're wondering if the most recent tax return year is 2009? When we file should it be for 2006-2008 or 2007-2009? My husband has not got his W2's yet and we are afraid we'll have to wait till the middle of February (at least) to get his documents :( And one more thing... if we provide tax transcripts is that enough prove? I mean he does not keep his old W2's or any other tax documents...

We are also using a sponsor - my mother in law but she and her husband own a business and file for tax together. My husband said it doesn't show anywhere what their individual income is? What should we do in that case?

I was going to call NVC and ask these questions but all I get for the last 2 days is busy tone (and so does my husband) :(

Thank you very much for the help!

we have the same question in mind about whether to use 2006-2008 or 2007-2009. i've decided to just send them 2007-2009. why? because i did not meet the income guideline for 2008....but i met the income guideline for 2009. so far, no response yet from nvc though.

  4. I have a question. I hope someone can give me an advice. Here's my situtation.

In 2007, my salary was well above the income guideline, and in 2008, it's a couple of thousand dollar short. Now, in September 2009, up to this point, my GROSS is at $16K already. I'm positive that by the end of this year, i'll earn more than the income guideline again (20G or more by the end of the year). I'll get my W-2 around 2nd week of January.

I paid the AOS bill $70.00 already. I have my 2007 and 2008 tax transcript. I'm gonna send those 2, but like i said, i didn't meet the income guideline in 2008 but i'm sure that i'll meet the income guideline in this year. Can i send my AOS papers using 2009 although obviously, year 2009 is not finished yet? I don't want any co-sponsor with our case though. Or just wait til 2009 ends then send the Affidavit of Support? :crying: Thanks in advance. :innocent:

  5. i got my NVC Case number last night....Praise God... operator ask me my name, bday, petitioner name and date of birth... then she said that our cased was delivered last friday at their office... thank GOD i have my case number ... DO i need to email my DS3032?

    thanks

yep, wait for them to generate the DS3032 and AOS bill. they'll send it in your email. i got those 2 emails the same day they emailed my case number. then i emailed ds3032 and paid aos bill the same day. now still waiting for the next step....

Hi to both of you. it's nice to see other june filers :) we just got the ds3032 on email.

i got mine too on the 17th and paid on the 22nd. hehehehe

  6. finally, a case number was emailed to my email addy. that's after 3 weeks though. i didn't call them or anything. hehehe

    Hi,

If you didn't call them, how did they know your email address? Did they send it to your USCIS e-add? does it mean that if we register our case on USCIS website, no need to call NVC to give our e-add? Please advise.

By the way, did you try to check in USCIS site if your case was touched after your NOA2?

    Thanks a lot pogi!

finally, a case number was emailed to my email addy. that's after 3 weeks though. i didn't call them or anything. hehehe

btw, congrats! i was so excited to ask questions.. :)

ops sorry for being misleading. i didn't know that wife (beneficiary) called nvc. she told me that after three weeks of being approved she decided to call once to see whether they assigned us the case number. i think this was a few days ago. the operator told her "no" and then the operator asked for our email address then that's about it. after 2 days, (yesterday), there we got 2 emails. one for ds3032, another is AOS invoice (which has the IIN, i think).

it's emailed as pdf like this:

    NVC Case Number: xxx##########

AOS Invoice for: LAST NAME, FIRST NAME (name of petitioner)

    Invoice Date: September 17, 2009

    Amount Due: $70.00

Invoice ID Number: ######## (i wonder if this is the IIN they are talking about???)

  7. Hey guys,

I just called NVC and they assigned case numbers to my partents files. I have both case numbers, I already provided my email to them. Then I asked oprater If she can give me Invoice ID number, she said no she dont have access and will send me via email in next 2 to 4 weeks.

I am going to call again to get IIN number... I am not sure if they will send me via email...

    Good Luck everyone

    IT.

when they sent me the invoice for the aos, there's a pdf file attached to that email, and in that attached file says "invoice ID number", is that the IIN??? because i didn't ask for the IIN or anything but i like i said, on that invoice says invoice id number.

actually they sent me 2 emails. one is ds3032 and the other is aos invoice (although the aos invoice also has the ds3032 included).

  8. i know this is none of my business, but why are you the one calling NVC instead of your husband? you'll prolly save if your husband calls nvc, don't you think? unless it's really cheap to call from australia to the us. hehehe

its because my husband is not the one doing the paperwork, i am. i have done this whole process myself from australia and all he does is sign forms when i mail them to him, and pay bills when i need them paid. i know it sounds terrible, but others are doing it this way also.

if he called NVC i would be worried that he would get a question he might not be able to answer on the spot and i dont want it affecting our case.

anyway maybe i am being paranoid. but no, its not cheap to call the US from Australia.

    my phone bills are ridiculous.

You should get magicjack, thats what I got my wife in India and it works great. Free calls :) I do occasionally use the calling card so that I have phone records as well.

    we use magicjack too. lol

  9. I'm so glad you discovered that you don't have to have your medical in Sydney. What a load off. Getting to Sydney just for the interview is tough if you live on the other side of the country. I was lucky since Sydney is my home.

Regarding rescheduling your interview... I didn't do it myself, but I would suggest that you attach preferred dates to your letter of readiness (the one you send in when you've got everything on the big list :D). It makes sense that they will try to accomodate you as best they can.

If you DO have to reschedule, I wouldn't hesitate to email them. In my experience they have been very good with the email. Both times I received a reply within 24 hours. Again, give them the preferred dates in the email. I hope you can organise a decent time.

    Best of luck!

good luck and best wishes to those still waiting. i know it must be so hard.

if it makes you feel any better, i am having no action at NVC yet... i am gonna stay up late tonight here in Australia and call them in the morning in the USA and ask the operator if my case number has been assigned yet... im so impatient and its been over a week now. hehe.

  10. i'm just curious, if you call the NVC and speak to them, what do you tell them? what do you ask them? how do you ask them? you just call and ask right away "what's my case number?" hehehe thanks

When u will ask them about ur case number they will ask ur CIS case number (noa receipt number) the can also ask the name and date of birth of petitioner or beneficery, that all what u have to tell them

    ok thanks.

  11. u june peeps are very lucky - count your blessings - especially the peeps from pakistan, I have no idea how you didn't get in AP..

the may thread is practically dead, june approvals are almost caught up with may's. According to Igor's list june has 15 approvals, may has 20.. I don't think any other month ever did this before.

It makes me kick myself for not waiting till june to file mine lol

    Hey,

What do you mean you didn't get AP. AP comes after the interview. They better not be racist towards Pakistanis or anybody else, otherwise it won't be fair.

i think they treat male pakistanis differenct from female pakistanis. That's what happened to my coworker's wife. She didn't get any AP because she's a female. But i heard it's tougher for males.

  12. the last 3 years would be 2006-2008. you cannot submit 2009, but can do your last paycheck (if it shows accumulation of paydays) or some have submitted the last 6 months of paychecks.

How come we don't include 2009? We filed in 2009 and not in 2008? But do you think you can include 2009 instead? I'm asking because in 2007, my income met the poverty guideline, 2008 did not meet, and now in 2009, i'm expecting to be above the poverty guideline again.

So you're saying if i have to include 2009, i should've filed in 2010??? hehehe

  13. I have a question. Obviously, all of us filed in 2009. So the tax returns we must submit to NVC are tax returns/transcript 2009, 2008 (optional), and 2007 (optional)? Is that right?

But how can you send or show them your 2009 tax return, if for example, the tax season has not even started yet??? Are you stuck until the 2009 tax return becomes available like around January or February?

I get my W-2 form from my employer around last week of January. And that's the only time I can file for my 2009 tax return.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
