Yes for the first one... 3 yrs since LPR.
as for second question, the USC spouse whom you received your LPR must be a USC for at least 3 yrs before spouse is eligible. N-400 app has a section on it. also lookup M-476 Naturalization guide....
Thank you for the info! Appreciate it! Just wanted to make sure that I was having a countdown from the correct time ya know! Have a great day!

No idea why you are bringing in another person's situation in your question...
Look at your husband's green card - you want to know the resident since date - to that date add three (3) yrs minus 90 days if still married to the same USC (yourself). If not, add 5 years.
fyi trying to help out and find more info for my husbands friend. I do like to help others! That was the reason for mentioning his friends situation with my question. Didn't think it would make sense to post 2 subjects that are so similiar.
thanks for the response.

Very curious! I know what I read and understood here and on the goverments website concerning naturalization. I wanted to verify because someone I know is very adimant about them being correct about the details.
My husband is married to me an american citizen from Morocco so he only has to wait 3 years to apply from the date that he became a permanent resident correct?????? Not counting the time that he was here on his k-3 visa???
My husband's friend is married to a Moroccan born woman who is now a U.S citizen thru naturalization. Does he have to wait 3 years from his Permanent status or 5 years because his wife was not born here in the U.S???
I just want to make sure I understood correctly. We begin a new timeline from the moment we recieved our green card to apply for U.S citizen status don't we??
Thank you all for your help and any more info and advice that you have concerning what to prepare for in the future please feel free to let me know! take care all! Happy dayz ahead for all I hope!

Do you know if they do fingerprints at the mobile consulate? Or did your husband already have the new National ID Card?
My husband already has his national card. But I did see people taking fingerprints! So the answer is yes they do fingerprints! They stamp and renew and extend passports on site!

Hi everyone! Just wondering! My son is 2 yrs old we are traveling to Morocco next month! What documents do I need to get a citizenship for him in Morocco? Do you recommend that I do that just in case in the future he wants to go there when he is older. Can we get a family book? I'm an american citizen what can I get? Family book or dual citizenship as well?

Just wanted to let everyone know. My husbands passport expired in Nov. 2010 and we are traveling to Morocco at the end of May. I was very worried that it would not be renewed in time for our booked trip.
But to my surprise we went to the traveling consulate that was in Orlando Fl.
Everything went smoothly. They renewed it and did everything in the same day. We left the place with passport renewed in hand within a couple of hours! A great experience. They did ask that we have a recent birth certificate within 3 months to the date. We rushed one from Morocco and they didn't use it. But I would still have it just in case. They change anything at the last moment. I did email them many times to make sure I had the right information.
Hope this helps anyone that is trying now or in the future to renew or extend their Moroccan passport.
Have a great day all!
You can go to the Moroccan consulate website for the places and dates of the traveling consulate!

I am traveling to Morocco and have a long over night layover in spain. My husband has an american
green card that is valid for ten years. Will they let him leave the airport and spend a night in a hotel for the next day?
just curious because if not we may to change plans. btw the long layover is on our way back to the U.S

Thanks ladies! Still waiting for the birth certificate in the mail! The guy from the consulate called my husband yesterday evening and told him to wait until Orlando! I'll make up my mind once I have all the paper work I need!
-
We just finished our AOS. We only paid 350-400 out of pocket for the physical. We also went to a small immigration service business and paid 300.00 and they did all the paper work for us with a package ready for us to mail out. Maybe you should consider doing that also. So you don't have to stress yourself too much. I understand it can be overwhelming I have been there before. Just make sure you pay attention to detail and don't let anyone over charge you. I had a bad experience with someone over charging me in the past. If you need any more info please let me know! Good luck to you and your family.

i can not believe i may have messed up,i just realized many people send in the original translation, well i sent in the copy,do you think i should expect them to return the entire package 3?
I'm not 100% sure. But I don't think they will and pray that they don't! Contact the embassy a.s.a.p!

My husbands passport has to be renewed it expired Nov. 2010. We are traveling to Morocco late May 2011. I contacted the embassy in New York. They actually returned my call. I explained to them that I need the passport for our trip. He informed me that they will be in certain locations and will be able to process my request. He provided me with the info to bring current birth certificate, Passport, green card, 4 pictures, and the money for the fee. He said they are able to issue a temp. passport for our travels.
The dates are april 15th-17th.
My question is should I wait that long to travel to oralndo which is 3-4 hours from my home to process it or should I just mail the info to New York and see if arrives in time for our trip in May?
Is there such a thing as a temp. passport?
Please help!
I also included information from the www.moroccanconsulate.com with dates and locations if anyone needs it!
Thank you everyone!

Hi I was just wondering if anyone knew a place online to purchase henna cones? I'm love henna and wanted to get some and practice doing designs for a family event coming up in December. Thanks!

My husband didn't have a bad experience with our interview with the consulate. They just wanted more proof as if our paper work from being pregnant with our first son and photos and phone card etc wasn't enough. The funny thing is I showered them with all the info after that. He went back the next day with a suit case full of a years worth of phone bills, more photos, journals, plane tickets, reciepts, and anything you can think of. That day they didn't even look at everything. They were satified and our visa was approved and he was on his way to the U.S within the week. So my advice is go overly prepared. You can never have too much information about your relationship. Good luck to everyone that is in the process or soon will be with their visa or green card! Congrats to those that have already been through that phase!
BTW- I think this thread is helpful. It's always soothing to hear other peoples experiences!

Here is the website to have the list of documents needed for a passport. I sent my husband passport first week of Feb and it was
sent back in two weeks later. You must send in a USPS return envelope addressed to yourself. A consular card will be issued when
the passport is returned.
http://www.moroccanconsulate.com/pass.cfm
you must send in the actual passport.
Birth Certificate
Copy of the Moroccan identification
Two passport photos
Check or money order for $100.00
That is all I sent in, very important, you must send a priority envelope inside the USPS original envelope addressed to you.
Hope that was helpful. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you for the information. I just checked the site. I have the form he has to fill out for the renewal. I was just curious about his birth certificate? We have a arabic copy and a certified english translation too? I noticed they wanted something no older than 3 months. Did you have a problem with that. I am hoping to travel to Morocco in the end of May. I wanted to purchase our tickets but I'm nervous we won't get his passport back in time. What do you think? He hasn't registered yet with the embassy. Should I send the forms together? Is there a fee for the consular card? Sorry for so many questions. Just going crazy over here I want everything to work out smoothly lol
Have a good day and thanks for the response

Hi everyone! My husband and I have been married going on 4 years in August. WE finally have our 1st interview for the Adjustment of status. I was wondering if you guys would please help with info or tips of things we should bring with us from your experience or from others you know!
My main question is should we bring our son to the interview? He is going to be 2 in april. I was wondering if it was best to bring him ith us. Or better to bring him with his nanny for the time we are there??
Should I bring a photo album or is ok that I bring my laptop showing all our family photos?
