Hi, the last part you said is funny when u said that you dont think any of them understand why you were fasting because im muslim and I too was like huh??? if shes not muslim than why is she fasting? lol but from reading what you wrote you are doing it to be supportive of your hubby and I think thats great not alot of woman are supportive enough to fast during ramadan with their hubby but i think its a great thing that he has your support because this time of year is very important for muslims he is very lucky to have someone so supportive and understanding

Hello, well as far as I know casa consulate does look at financial information, and now even more thats why now the I864 is required because they got strict on that especially in the recent interviews including my fiance, that is the first thing they ask for is the I864 and some of the people that dont make enough are told to get a co sponsor I have even read here on vj alot of stories where the us citizen makes just enough above poverty level and still she was asked to get a co sponsor, there was also another person that made well above the poverty line and was told to bring a letter from her parents saying that they will help her out if needed, in just a recent interview someone took a co sponsor but the consulate didnt approve it and asked them to find another one and my fiance took to his interview my most recent tax returns along with a letter of employment, proof of my other incomes, Stubs, and we had way more than poverty line and still they asked him for my 2008 tax returns so i would say yes your financial sittuation is very important they need to see that he will not fall into government help. I gave my fiance proof of alot of things but it seems like they dont look at your assets and also about the alimony you can add it to your current income but they wont take it in to consideration because its not income that you will have to support your fiance to be on the safe side i would get a co sponsor that way u dont take any chances. About the I 864A you are right you wont need it you will only need the I864.
good luck I hope it was helpful

Hi and welcome to VJ. My fiance and I had years worth of chats we talked 2 times a day everyday for years so as u can imagine alot of paper and chats, what I did was I got a few chats for each year, for example, for 2007 I sent feb, may, sept, dec, and i did this for every year untill the day of his interview.
hope it helps and good luck.

I want to thank VJ and all the members here because it’s been such a great help without VJ and its members I would be so lost in this process and just like I have read all the cases on here and learned from others and their interviews I too would like to help others so this is how it went……….. (and by the way the questions are not in order, my hubby is so unorganized Im lucky he remembered this much of the interview lol
He got there at 7:45 to stand in line, he was the only K1 the rest were lottery and tourist visas, So when he got inside they asked him to pay the fees(cashier) and they took his DS forms then they told him to have a seat that they would call him so about 30 minutes later a moroccan woman calls him and asks for his medical papers and the affidavit of support and all the things that packet 3 instructed him to bring she then asked him if he speaks English and if he would like his interview in English or Arabic, he said English of course, she then took his fingerprints and she said to him ok have a seat and they will call u, so almost 3 hours later they finally call him to window 5, it was the young blonde American woman he said she was very nice she then asked him….......
Write your fiancés name here on a blank sheet of paper and sign it
Where did you meet your fiancé at? And when? Is it a dating website? He said no its an islamic website
When did she come to morocco? And for how long? And how many times? He said one time/1month
How long did you have your account at this website before you met her?
How did you two start talking? And who started talking first?
Did you start talking more than friends from the very beginning ? he said no
What did you like about her profile?
Why don’t you two get married here in morocco?
Where did she grow up?
Why did she move to New Mexico?
Does she miss Los Angeles? He said yes lol
How long has her father had his business?
What degrees does she have? And he told her all the ones I have
What are her hobbies? And he told her my hobbies then he added that I love to try on makeup just to try out new colors and styles and she started laughing.
How long has she been playing piano? Did she go to school for it? He said since she was 8 years old
Your English is good how did you learn? He said from school
Does your fiancé know Arabic? How did she communicate with your family? He said yes and she said chwia? and she started to laugh then he told her that I teached him Spanish and she said poco? And she started to laugh again.
Why did she waite so long from the time you two met to come to see you ? and he explained to her why
Has she ever been married before? He said no
What does she do for a living?
What are your plans for the future?
Do you plan to go to school?
What do you two have in common?
Why do you love her?
Why didn’t you get married with a Moroccan woman? Grrrrrr lol
How many kids do you want?
How many brothers and sisters does she have? And where do they live?
Do you have pics of you two? He took his folder out and gave her the pics and she only looked at 4 of them.
She did not look at any of our things, I had made about 5 or 6 folders for him full of evidence and I mean everything all the answers he gave he had proof to back it up and she did not look at none of it at all but 4 pics out of the many pics he had and she said your approved and for some reason she asked him for my 2008 income tax report which is strange because I had given him my most recent income tax report but she wanted to see the last 3 years so I wasn’t told this, the consulate told me to only give him my 2009 so anyways good thing I sent it to him with all the folders lol he just didn’t think he would need it so he didn’t take it but all he had to do was call his sister and ask her to fax it over and she did and they took his passport and told him that they would call him, and he said she kept saying to him your approved like 3 times he said she was very very nice and that the interview lasted about 20 minutes and he also said that the key is to not be nervous, to not answer just yes or no and to go very confident. This thing about not even taking one look at our evidence makes me think what I thought all along that they know if they will approve you or not before they even call them to the window, I hope this will help someone because I know reading all the posts that its helped us to prepare better. And even though the CO said APPROVED I still wont believe it 100% until he actually has his visa in hand because you just never know with Casablanca consulate.

congrats and thank you very much for sharing your interview experiance with us it helps all of us going in for an interview and good luck i hope u like the usa
-
I agree with lisa totally this is crazy getting approved with no pics because of an ex fiance and not so great english while alot of people go well prepared and still get denied i really think its discrimination over the men that go for their interview
-
I personally used regular express mail because if you use fedex, dhl, or any of those carriers it will cost you an arm and a leg I went to both of those to get a price and it was $140 for just a few papers. They are suppose to sign for the mail but being morocco lol their mail service sucks so they dont even ask them to sign for it at least my fiance didnt have to sign for any of the things ive sent to him with express and with the express you can even track it online and see where its at
-
Oh and im sorry i forgot to answer your #1 question, well I too had this question when i was going through that process and the consulate advises that the forms be dated no later than 30 days from his interview
-
Hello ok so jackie is correct in casablanca they are not asking for the I-134 it is not acceptable anymore now they are only accepting the I-864. If you want the consulate to take in consideration what you have in the bank than you can send bank statements it depends what you put on your I-864 if you put money in the bank then you would need to show proof of that and same things go for property thats why on my I-864 I just put 0 for all of those because then you must show proof so its really up to you if you want them to take it in consideration and its soooooo true do not send your important papers by regular mail we have lost so many things along the way ive used express mail for all of our important information and so far its ok I mean the moroccan post is just a mess but when i send him things express he tends to get everything.
goodluck

Well I hope it's an approval, Why do they always do this and always leave people thinking and wondering if its an approval or not??? well I will keep on praying for you and I really hope that he gets approved, just keep possitive and keep on praying

I agree with you they try to make money anyway they can
-
I wrote to the consulate asking them about this a few days ago and they also told me the same thing that it is now a requirement as part of the k1 packet and it sucks for me because I had already sent the I-134 to my fiance so today I had to print out the I-864 And sent it to him, and also the fees went up to $350 dollars. this is just CRAZY!!

Hi, they cash the check before sending you the first NOA this is what happened in our case and also when i called uscis they told me the same thing that they need to cash the check before they issue the NOA, so its normal for them to cash it.
-
Well one month seems like alot, most of the people here on vj get the first NOA by the first week after sending the packet, I would call uscis because you cannot get information about your case through the uscis website because you need a receipt number and the receipt number is going to be on your NOA, i also called uscis just to see if they have gotten my packet and they told me that uscis has up to 45 days to issue the first NOA and there was nothing i can do untill i get the first noa or the 45 days are up.
hope this helps and i hope you get it soon.

first i want to say that im sorry about your interview and i also want to thank you for sharing your story with us here on vj all these interview reviews help out alot and i wish you good luck and i hope that everything makes a turn for the better.
Is there a visa ???
in Bringing Family Members of Permanent Residents to America

The person that told you this is very wrong because my fiance and I did the k-1 and he just had his interview in july and the income was very important and they do require an affidavit of support thats one of the first things that they asked him for in his interview. As far as a visa that doesnt require an affidavit of support i would agree with the person that said work visa. goodluck I know it must be hard to find a co sponsor how about family? or your closest friends?
