He didn't send the documents you need or they're still in transit? If you know they're on their way, reschedule an interview in a week or so if you can. If he hasn't sent them at all, maybe he still needs to gather them. Either way, you're going to have to reschedule your interview. The Embassy can extend the validity of the petition. Remind them to extend it when you call to reschedule. Get something sent to you via email or in writing of the extension, and/or new interview date.

Im back...How are you? I hope everyone here is doing good and wishing to those who were still stuck for AP will be released soon..Ive been with this very tough /hard times (AP @ NVC) before for 52 days but now all went very well for us right after NVC released us ( Thanks God!) I passed my 2-day medical exam last Feb 17&18 and just today (March 4), Ive had my interview appointment at USEM (of course ), and you know what? My K1 VISA IS APPROVED !!!

So to all my stuck @ NVC family, thank you so much for all your help, encouragements, suggestions/ ideas and prayers..Keep on believing, dont lose your hope

WOHOOO.... ohh yes, AT LAST NVC has COMPLETED our processing..They have already forwarded our case to the USEM....Imagine we have been stuck there for AP for 7 weeks..What a wonderful night it is for me here!!! Thanks God...

Ive just got an email from NVC tonight,a replied from my inquiry and called them too ( to confirm) right after I have read the letter and yes, indeed, its TRUE.....The packet 3 is on its way to USEM Manila..

So to all who are still there , dont lose hope! Soon NVC will release/ forward your case to the USEM.. Be positive...Who knows, you will be the next to be released??Goodluck to all of us....

Yes you can call the embassy to cancel or you could ask them to reschedule the interview a couple of months from now while you decide what to do.

Most people on this board are here to find out how to make the visa process go as fast as possible and get their visa as soon as possible so its hard for them to imagine how anyone might not want to do that.

But from my own experience I know that not all Filipina are ready to quickly come to the USA. You need to do what is in your heart. I personally am much happier that I married to my little darlin rather than pursued a K-1 and only had her as a fiance while the visa was processed.

It's up to you but I think everybody need to do what makes them happy and the visa process is secondary to that.

But you should talk to your future husband about his plan. Ask him how long can you stay there. Does he make enuf money to come there to see you often, can he support you after you marry, do u wanna have kids, where you gonna live...there are lots of questions you need to talk about cuz once you get married in the Phils you gonna be married for life. I know some get annulment in the Phils but it very hard to do espically if you married to foreigner and you start having a family

So you need 100% sure you want to be married, a K-1 give you chance to change mind, but if you marry no choice you will have to live with your decision.

I very happy with our decision and so is my wife but our decision is not right choice for everybody.

If you really wanna marry go for it but if you not 100% sure maybe you should just postpone interview for a couple of months.

I'll keep hoping the case that's on its way to Zagreb is ours, even though the rational part of my brain says I'm, basically, an idiot. I won't be calling NVC again for at least a week. We're still practicing... patience, as well as waiting for them to reply to an email my fiance sent the other day. Might call the Embassy here, though, to see if they have the electronic information, or anything of the sort. More likely, I won't do that either. Maybe we'll break all the stuck-in-AP records and then also get denied, too. It'd make sense, considering our luck, overall.

• Validity of visas

Generally, an immigrant visa is valid for six (6) months from the date of issuance. The validity of a visa, however, may also be limited because of medical restrictions or other reasons. If an applicant knows that departure will not be possible within this period, he or she should request to have the interview moved to a later date. The Embassy does not extend the validity of an issued visa.

However, an expired visa may be replaced if the applicant is able to demonstrate that his/her ability to use the visa was due to circumstances beyond his/her control.

If an applicant is determined to be eligible for a replacement visa, he/she will be asked to update his record and will be charged the applicable consular fees.

To request a replacement visa, the expired visa needs to be surrendered at the Embassy with a letter explaining the reasons why the visa was not used.

as jfd said, it will depend on the reason why you were not able travel within the 6months. just try doing what she did, who knows.

Today is Monday I have been calling USEM Manila tel 1 909 101 7878 since this morning till afternoon for my medical & interview schedule but it always failed, all I hear is a busy tone. Can u pls guys coach me how to call? any trick ? I cannot penetrate to the operator. I need to get my schedule asap but I don't want to waste money for prepaid card since charge per min is so expensive.Ok pls I need help here.

call 02-321-2000 and operator will answeryou, then dial again 7 and then operator will again answer and dial local# 5184# or 5185#...u can ask if your case already generated, and u can ask your hubby also to call 19091017878 to set an appointment for your interview...u can have your medical a week before your interview. Good luck...your timeline almost one year...why took longer? but what important is you are there already...while im not yet sure when is my luck...my case still at NVC. Good Luck

It is good only for 6 months. On very rare cases it can be extended but basically if you don't arrive in 6 months you have to start over

Only 8-10 working days if you apply on their website. I just got mine today.

it takes one day to get a cenomar, you should go there in NSO early in the morning so that they will release your cenomar in the afternoon.. if you will go there too late you must return in the next day to get it.

a friend of mine told me that it will be a month to release it.now somebody was helping me to get it and still he said it's 1 month.so i said i'll get it but i was worried because any moment now i'll have my packet 3.i just saw this cenomar here on vj and i can really say that it realy helps...thanks guys!!!!
