The Dhaka consulate sent us two document checklists. One says we must be ready to pay the fees. The other says we have to deposit the fee in the SC Bank and bring the receipt to the interview. What have people been following?
Pay the visa fee at the scb...

Anyone from Bangladesh can obtain the Marriage Certificate from where the marriage took place, I mean from the exact same Kazi office. Just anybody to go and take the Nikah nama for the reference if the office needs it...
It is easy process... You may need to submit a lil fees though..
Good Luck..

She can travel out of the US and return with her K-3 as it is a multiple entry visa. Until she has a green card, however, to enter Canada she will need a visa issued by a Canadian Consulate. Once she has her green card and is a permanent resident, Canada will recognize her as having the same status as a US citizen for visitation purposes and allow her to enter without a visa.
Here is the website where it states the visa requirement. You also can click elsewhere on this site to find out how to get a visitor's visa.
I completely agree with Kathryn41. I visited canada after I recieved my green card, and for this visit I did not had to apply for a Canadian visa. One more additional info, with CR1 stamped on the passport u can also visit canada without the physical green card as the passport's been stamped with I-551 seal which is actually act as a temporary green card for one year (besically act as ur LPResidency status).
So bottom line is, with CR1/IR1= Green card, u can travel Canada without a visa. With K3, u can enter US as many as time u want, like u say, if she goes to Bangladesh, she would not face any problem coming back to US. Thats how it works as Multiple entry visa.
Good Luck

Now my new qus: is what is OS155A?
It is your application type. Like the one u had I-130 which actually meant Immgrations visa for Spouse (CR1/IR1). In the similar way, OS155A is for your Parmenent Resident Application (Green card). If you are on IR1, you should get your 10 year green card soon.
I am only one question...Why r u thinking of getting divorced so early? I think you should give a try first...U just came in, believe me, it surely takes some time to adjust with ur spouse...
It is ur life for sure..Think before you make any decision. And I believe, it is not only one issue - the immigration status, but also you can be in legal issues, like what if you wife goes for family violance, or fraud case against u? U never know. So, don't think of divorce right away, take some time. And, definitely you can be in US whatsoever.
Good Luck

Here's Shimool's post for the SSN. Please check, you need to file SS-5 form at the SSA office to obtain SSN.

1) This is correct, IMMIGRANTS do not carry a departure record, this is only for NON-Immigrants like K-Visa holders.
2) Samething happened in my case, they never wanted to see my vaccination report. It is not the part of our immigration process, but this may be needed for university admissions I assume. Most importantly that is for your record.
3) This is correct I-551 stamp is not stamped on the visa it is stamped on a page near the visa. A slight difference is that I don't have an expiration date as I am fortunately IR-1. My endorsement has IR1, A#.... and the arrival seal itself contained the date of arrival, thats it. May be here is some slight difference betweek CR1 and IR1 I assume.
4) This is correct, no reciept is issued here. The visa itself as you can see will serve as temporary greencard for one year from the date of arrival.
5) Th green card comes automatically. However, it can be a little lengthier. Please go to this link http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRD.
However, you will recieve a welcome notice "NOA" where you will get a tracking number starts with SRC....... and you can track your green card production procedures. This welcome letter took 10 business days for me to recieve. And I am yet to recieve my green card.
One IMPORTANT issue is, YOU MUST GO TO THE NEAREST SSA office and fill out a form and submit it to the officer for your wife's SSN. Do not wait. Because it would waste your time only. Although we ticked in our DS230 for SSN to come automatically, however, in practical, it does not come untill you file for it. Best examples is Shimool who waited for 1 month and after that he posted here to make sure he should file for it or not. YOU MUST FILE FOR SSN.
Once you filed for SSN, it may take one week to 4 week. for me, I am yet to recieve as it's been only 2 weeks. You will get confirmation letter after 7-10 days from the SSA office.
6) You must file for remove condition 90 days prior to June 3, 2011 .
I am free from this. I will have to face USCIS only at the time of citizenship.
Good Luck.... GO TO YOUR NEAREST SSA OFFICE NOW.........

SIMPLY GO TO SSA AS SOON AS HE ARRIVES.
I went to the SSA office with my husband the very next day....All u need is to take ur passport. A form will be given to fill out right there (also u can download it from www.socialsecurity.com)...No hard goin to SSA office, rather it is good...U don't wait extra two weeks for nothing....SSN will not come automatically...And there is no such requirement...I am assure you...as I think I am the latest one who has done this....
Good Luck...
Sonia

Congrats.....When is she coming to US? Make sure u guys go to the nearest SSN office and apply for her SSN...SSN does not come automatically although we all ask it for at the DS 230 form.

Hei Sanam,
Although I was not in the same sitaution at all, I can give u some very general idea from my experience at the interview.
On the interview day, u r required to submit ur docs (whatever they ask right at that moment) in one of the 3 windows, where u will see Bangladeshi lady taking that from u. U submit whatever form they ask and NVC asked u to submit. Then u wait for a while, when they end up checking ur docs, they will call for the real interview which is with any ohf the american CO. Two things matters at the time of interview - #1 : Your financial docs # 2 : proof of relation.
Here in US Embassy Dhaka, they only ask for photographs with ur spouse taken time to time. Make sure u answer all the question accurately and smartly...
U will be fine. But do not forget, husbands often have AP for name checks which may take 4-6 weeks or so....
Good Luck...

Hi rahana/sonia,
rahana sorry about that. Don't worry soon they will call you. This is not the first time that happen.
One question???
Did you guys had to submit police report! if yes, Is it to embassy or with ds-230 at NVC
Thanks.
NVC lets you send either scanned copy or originals of police report with DS230. If you send scanned copy to NVC, you will need to bring the original to embassy interview. If you sent original to NVC, then embassy will already have your original police report and they will return it to you during interview.
Rahanna- My feeling is they already decided to put your husband on AP before the interview, maybe he has a common name or something else. But since he passed the interview and they took his passport, that usually means the wait won't be too long. Good luck to you both and hope you can accompany him here.
Agreed with HSB...........

U have waiting a long time...Congrats on getting an interview date....I would really suggest u to attend the interview...Take a lot of photos...

Sorry to hear ur situation Rehana...I also faced the interview on 27th and were approved at once... However, it seems US Embassy Dhaka is faster than before...AP waiting time for CR1 should be 2-3 weeks...don't be upset...since they said u r approved, that means u will be fine...
Savar was out of AP with in couple of weeks....
By the way... Were u sitting right beside me? Can u recognise me from my profile photo?
Sonia
Expiration date on approved I-130 sitting in NVC?
in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
Posted
Keep going with the NVC process. Be done with the NVC. When ur case is completed, u can simply ask for later dates if you really need. And I really don't think u gonna get an interview date before than Jan 2010.
Good Luck
