  1. Imminent military foreign deployment is a extreme emergent situation... Feeling ready to enlist in the Air Guard probably is not...

Exactly. She's here now and there is no reason for USCIS to expedite her case. Thats exactly what I was told too when we asked about expediting my I-485 as Daniel was going on a deployment. I spent about a month without any legal status except NOA1 and not even a driver's license. Luckily got the greencard a few days after he was deployed without an interview too. I can understand your concern but this is how it is.

So there was no interview before you received the greencard?

  2. My wife and I have had a fairly smooth go at it with USCIS. The I-129F was approved within 4 months and she had her appointment a few months later, arrived in May 08, married soon after and filed the I-485/I-131/I-765 in July. She received her work authorization and travel document in October and we are waiting on her permanent residency.

I want to enlist in the Air National Guard and am concerned about leaving her alone while I am in training and A-School. Lidia would like to return to Ecuador to finish school while I am in training and A-School. We have been advised that leaving for Ecuador before the residency is resolved could cause major problems. She has an Advanced Parole document but we are concerned about her going back home while her application is pending.

Does anyone know how to request that her residency be expedited? I feel ready to enter service and she would like to finish her studies in Ecuador. Anyone had similar experiences?

    Thanks,

    Kai and Lidia
