Yup, I have the same day oath too at 1:30PM and am about to get out of the house to go there, congrats lomeshp. I think my officer was already tired or not warmed up coz he asked me to verify my personal info, last time I was abroad. Then he asked me my wife's first name... Then he asked me if I was sure:) He then picked the most interesting questions from the yes/no section. I had a replacement page printed to include my traffic/parking tickets but he did not even take it to attach it to the file - the file was like 15 inches thick anyway... Just confirmed if all of them were taken care of. Then he went ahead and asked me 6 questions:

-What is religious freedom - I kinda stuttered on this one but then my mind started working and all other went smooth

-Date the constitution was written

-One state bordering Canada

-Name the Ocean to the East of US

-How many Senators there are

-Hmm, I forgot the last one...

Then, he had me read: What do we pay to the government?

Then, he had me read: We pay taxes.

And then he congratulated me but said he had one more question to ask: if I would like to become an American Citizen this afternoon?

I smiled and said: I would. He gave me this piece of paper, one side has the Oath time. The other side has like 10 questions that you are supposed to answer to make sure nothing changed between the time of the interview and the oath. So, no drinking and driving after the interview or else there won't be any oath:)

I thanked him and was outta there!

I am very happy that this is over, now I gotta drive to Houston to get my passport as I am leaving for Poland next month and don't want to risk it. If I go 14 days before the departure, they will have my passport ready the same day, how crazy is that:)

Guys, you won't believe it as I did not when I opened the envelope from USCIS. So, I called them on Jan 14th to complain that it's been 2 moths and I did not receive my biometrics appt letter. Today, my wife comes back from Walmart, she has a package in one hand and a letter in the other. I go for the package - a book for school:( I go for the letter...something from USCIS!!! I am thinking, here comes my biometrics appt but I opened it and... it's a Request for Applicant to Appear for Naturalization Initial Interview!!! on March 3rd. Irving, TX whooohooo. Now, is it going to be a problem that I haven't had my biometrics taken for N-400? I had them last year in January for my 10 year GC, are those going to suffice? I am so happy, going to get a champagne:)

Just an FYI for those who did not get a letter for their biometrics. I called USCIS today and asked them #######. The guy was nice but said they have 2 months from Receipt Date to get to my papers for Biometrics. Since I am lacking 5-6 days, I will call them again next week on the 15th if I have not gotten Biometrics Letter in mail and they will do more research on it.

Guys, question for ya: Did any of you file 2 years 9 months from becoming a resident? I am trying to figure out if USCIS is waiting with my file to get to 3 years or something

lomeshp, so far we are going neck and neck, I am like 1 day behind coz my NOA has a priority date of 11/14/08

So, I looked at my check image online and it does have some SSC number. It is hardly visible but from the digits I was able to decipher it matches the number from the bottom left corner of my NOA. There is something like SSC$.... - that's the one on the check so it's not the case number anyway.

martingopher, you and I are from Dallas office. Maybe we can share our experiences through this process.
