Hello Vj,
'SOS'
I just filled out the I-485 form, however, i am a little bit confused with my answer in the 'given name and middle name'. I have 2 first names that i put in the given name, put my papa's name as middle name, and my new family name (husband name). I was told that uscis only accepts 3 names 'is this true?'. Now i am confused of which name i will retain and drop, the second name of my first name or my papa's name.
Is there any vj member that had the same confusions as mine who figured the right thing to do.
Your answer is very much apreciated.
Thank you.

Hi, I'm in the process of petitioning my mother to come here, she is a Filipino but she lives in Singapore, my question is after I pay all the fees here like the $70 for AOS, $400 for IV Bill, do i still have to pay any fees in Singapore during her interview. I checked the US embassy website in Singapore and it says "The immigrant visa processing fee of USD 335 plus a surcharge of USD 45 per person are payable by cash (either U.S. or Singapore dollars equivalent amount) or by major credit cards" does this applies to IR-5.
What about the medical how much does it cost. Please if anybody has an experienced processing immigrant visa in Singapore, please let me know. Appreciate any help......about the fees in IR5 i don't know but you have to be prepared they don't accept cash, credit cards, nor manager check...about the fees in medical 350SGD or lesser if he has all the vaccine required...don't worry processing in singapore are very easy... if you have any further question just dont hesitate to ask me.....

It seems like when I check Philippine Airline's website for Cebu to LAX, SFO or LAS that they are charging an arm and a leg (approx 1,000 dollars) for a one way flight. That's ridiculous considering I can manage to fly from Omaha to Cebu and back for 300 dollars more then that.
Where is the best place to look for one way flights from Cebu to the USA? She needs to be able to fly into Omaha as well.
When are you planning to move???January to march are really expensive april to may is a lil bit cheaper of $$..june to december are expensive again...

hi all,
today is very sad day. i went for my interview at the embassy and they give me back my passport and a letter saying 'unable to issue a visa to you because you have been found ineligible to receive a visa under the ff section:
section 221 (g) which prohibits the issuance of a visa to anyone whose application does not comply with the provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Act issued pursuant thereto. There following remarks apply in your case:*
221(g) for police report and AOS. Requiring proof from IRS of 2008 taxes. (Quarterly tax filings)
.....as i read you post, you are from singapore?? am i rigth??? just give them what they are asking and sooner you will be okey....do it ASAP....goodluck.....see my timeline
Please help me. Does this mean i am no longer able to get visa issued anymore?
However, The lady that interviewed me asked me to get police clearance of my fiance and also his quarterly tax filings.
Is it already denied?? or i can still get approved??
please help..
Thanks a lot

Did you do CFO seminar already? You need the sticker to go out of Philippines.
As for questions, standard... like name, address, age. If you're lucky no question at all.
bring your school records for future employment and other work related papers that you have from your Philippine employer.
Good luck and congrats!
......just bring all your doc with just in case?????? basic question will be ask..when and where did you meet,,age, work etc....have a safe trip....

Im counting the days for my Interview its making me nervous already...
Please pray for me to get PINK SLIP...
........you can do it girl...just always think positive...and one thing prepare all your doc...goodluck.....

It was quick and painless. The Filipino who pre-screened me asked more questions than the CO. The final interview was fun and very light convo. He was very nice and made me feel at ease. He even talked to me in Tagalog. He was impressed because I had the NBI with my mispelled name. Questions asked were:
-Husband's name
-When and how did we meet?
-His occupation and degree
-When he saw my Dubai PCC, he asked what did I do and how long did I stay there?
-How many people attended our wedding?
**then commented on our honeymoon pics in Baguio with butterflies at Butterfly Sanctuary, Camp John Hay Park.
Then he typed something on his PC and said the magical words "Your visa is approved".
Thanks to all who have helped and answered my questions during the process especially at NVC. It was a long, torture, stressful, depressing and made me eat a lot journey. Finally, it has come to an end. Well, not really the end because I still have yet to receive my visa. To those who will have their interview, it's not as scary as many people thought. As long as you're "real" and you have all the documents to prove, everything will be fine. Goodluck to all.
..........congrats to you......have a safe trip.........

Mabuhay!! I was interviewed yesterday.
My appointment: 6.30AM
So i woke up 3am, we stayed in a nearby hotel, then left at 4am then had breakfast at chowking
then arrived at US embassy at 4.30am, few people only, at 5.30am, guard shouting "for 6.30am interview fall in line"
so i was given a number 6002, i thought i was number 2, but numbers starting with 5, were served first though i was first to arrive than them, these are senior citizen, with kids, handicapped, its okay eventhough they are first than me, im a loving citizen and loves mankind.
1. check baggage, i suggest dont bring bag or phone, just your docs, its faster
2. walk straight turn left then turn right
3. you will see 2 counters giving you, your number, keep it (that's the 6002 my number)
4. waited for 30 mins, then you will be called by pre screener, asked for photos and evidences, pre screener talks filipino
5. waited for 30 mins, finger scanning
6. waited for 40 mins, consul interview
this was it:
consul: everybody seems to be excited to be here
lyn: yes sir (me smiling as i entered the cubicle)
consul: what are you feeling right now?
lyn: im excited and nervous, my stomach upside down
consul: owww
consul: your full name pls, date of birth
lyn: christallyne......aug.....
consul: looking at his computer, something different with your finger scan, do you have allergies?
lyn: no sir, they are wet
consul: huh, okay
consul: what is your date of marriage?
lyn: feb......
consul: so tell me your love story
lyn: blah blah...
consul: im looking for your affidavit of support, give me a sec
lyn; (sitting quietly)
consul: so what does your husband do for a living?
lyn: he works for the US airforce sir as aircraft technician
consul: do you know his rank?
lyn: no sir, but he recently got promoted, its just his 2nd year!
consul: thats great, oh i got your affidavit of support
consul : (browsing photos....) are you wearing your wedding ring?
lyn: yes sir, im very proud!
consul:hah! very proud....
consul: okay congratulations your visa has been approved
lyn: thank you sir! this is the best christmas gift of all time!
lyn: sir, just one more thing..can i pick up my visa....? pls
consul: oh you like to pick up your visa? but it'll take 1 or 2 days, so just wait at home, we use a very reliable courier.
lyn: okay sir, have a great day today
then waited for another 20 mins, go to counter 37 fill out form of air 21, fill it out very fast okay,
then go to air21 counter, pay, prepare exact amount, have your money in denominations, i paid 215, i gave 220, but didnt give my change, its okay, thats there tip.
okay, so now i can say, to all future interviewees, dont be nervous..what counts is the affidavit of support and how genuine your relationship is, BRING PHOTOS AND PROOF OF RELATIONSHIP.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!
.....Congratulation too you.....have a safe trip....
Congratulations! Update us when you receive your visa.Take Care.

I (petitioner) filed my I-129F in early Oct. Rec'd NOA1 a week or so later. Just trying to figure out what my fiancee should be doing while we wait for NOA2, etc. Wat specific requirements are there for Philippine fiancees? I mean the barangay, police certs, passport, cedula, etc. Is there anything she can get done now while we wait? She lives on Mindanao - not far from Butuan, which is where she'll most likely get most of the requirements. Any help would be appreciated.
......start gathering some doc like NBI,NSO BC,PASSPORT,CENOMAR,everything is not so expensive...goodluck on your journey......

Hey guys. I am about to head to the Phils to be with my wife and her family for Christmas and New Years.
I have a couple of questions. For one, my wife needs to get her stamp on her Passport/Visa from the CFO. She has already attended the CFO, and just needs the stamp. How long does this take and can it be done the day we depart the Phils in mid January?
One problem though is that I will be there for more than 21 days! I think I will be there for 24 days total... what do I need to be able to extend my visa? I heard that if you are married to a Phil. citizen, you can stay longer, is that true?
Also, I found airfare from Manila to Cebu on the 26th of Dec is about 4-5 times normal price! Has anyone sailed on the super ferries, or know any other safe or acceptable methods of getting from Manila to cebu without spending an arm and a leg? I can pay the ticket price, but would prefer to save the money on having fun over the holidays!
Lastly, if anyone has any advice for doing things in the Phils before we depart for America, please let me know!
Things like getting her hair done in the Phils before we depart (its a ton cheaper there than in the states!), already had dental work done for her and myself, but any other things we might need to do beforehand or things we need to know or prepare for at the POE etc would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, and Merry Christmas to you guys!
......based in my experienced (CFO) i just took 15 mins cuz i went there really early.as is they just open...bout your extension Yes!!!! you can extend staying in the phils married or not just be there as early as possible cuz ther will be a long queue...goodluck on your journey....

Hello to all!!!

Thank you in advance
for travel tax it would be in peso,,,terminal fee it can be $$$ or peso...goodluck......

When I visited the Ph I paid airport fee 7 or 8 hundred pesos at my departure. It seems that there is a higher
fee for Ph nationals leaving the country. A web search told me that this higher fee is "usually" included in the
air fare. Anyone around that has recently departed the Philippines who has experience with this?
Just trying to figure out what she will have to pay.
Thanks in advance for any heip!
.....just bring 3k with you in case....travel tax it cost so much and 750....have a blessed trip.....

Last Christmas i celebrate here in USA with my new family here. I thought white Christmas was fine and good since i was with my husband but i still missing the Christmas in the Philippines since is so different how we celebrate it with our family even we're living in small Island or village I cant still feel the spirit of christmas.I can hear a lots of Christmas songs anywhere when a month of September started , some people was started gathered their Christmas decor or lantern and in the store or market or in the street you can saw a lots of business people selling a Christmas lantern in early of October.
When December is coming we are so excited about the "Simbang Gabi" or " 9 Mornings" to make our wish come true for coming year. Caroling is the most i missed in Philippines, the fire crackers and most of all the "Noche Buena" specially our Christmas delecacies that we shared to eat together with our Family and don't forget the giving and receiving present from Ninong's and Ninang. The smile of everyone around the street to celebrate the christmas with or without Noche Buena.Christmas in Philippines is awesome and i won't ever forget wherever i was in this whole wide world.
Now Christmas is coming again and I missed it badly but i will try to feel and share the real spirit of Christmas to my owned family to make awesome and unforgetable even i was far to my loving country and most of all to my parents, brother's and sister.
I do really miss spending Christmas it been 10years the last time...hmmmm
