My dear October filers!!
With all your wishes, my hub got his GC approved!!!!
Our appoitment was at 9:30AM, but did not get called until 10:00AM, which didn't feel like a long wait. Our officer finally called us, and we both did the oath that we will only speak the truth. She went over our files and asked us "how did you meet"? and for some reason, I got excited about telling her our story so I went on and on and on... (Seemed like she enjoyed it too). We showed her our documents (3 bank statements, his name listed as beneficiary for 401K, associate profile, plane ticket we travelled together back in December, and church membership document), and I think she especially liked and convinced on the church membership document... She was mentioning her only concern is we didn't know each other for too long (we met last year July and got married in September) but she said she will approve. Then she made us sign a paper and explained lifting condition procedure and told us that our GC should arrive in next 7-10 days. She didn't ask for the pictures (and we took a ton) so I offered her to see my wedding album and she really enjoyed our album, and even called a co-worker to see it too.. She did not take away our EAD or AP since she didn't have anything to give us for now. I think overall interview lasted about 45 minutes...
Thank God we don't have to deal with CIS until next october!
GOOD LUCK to rest of the october filers!

Congratulations to all of the Green Card approvals!!
I'm going in tomorrow for 9:30 AM interview... Hopefully I have good story to share!
Here are the items we are taking:
- joint account bank statements (past 3 months)
- copy of my associate profile from work where his name is listed as spouse
- my 401k statement where his name is stated as beneficiary
- church membership card and letter that listed both of our names
- traveling itinerary (trip to Korea) that listed both of our names
- about 10 cards/letters we sent to each other before we got married
- tons of pictures with family, friends and at the wedding
- taking all the USCIS issued items, and tax returns, pay stub
We don't have any lease together because I already owned a house before we got married and it was pain to add his name to the bills since everything required his SSN, and he didn't get his until 2 wks ago.
Hopefully our interview goes smoothly.

Good luck to you Kang Lang.. I'm sure you have enough evidence, and you will get approved today!
Let us know how it goes!!
ok panic has officially set in! we are 17 hours from interview...husband isn't even worried but me (the usc) is a basket case! i have a question on the interview letter it says the following:bring any immigration related document ever issued to you? what all does that encompass? of course we have the ead and ap docs and the passport w/ original visa but not all the docs from the k-1 since the lawyer we used for that portion won't return them to us.
i must have looked at this stuff a million times but still feel as though something is missing!

Hey guys how are you all? I just want to let everyone know that, I took the written driver's test last saturday at the BMV, and passed it, with a 35/40, so I now have my temporary drivers license for a yr, and working on getting my full license. The test was soooo easy compare to the G1 test in Canada, its way more straight forward here, and the book isnt so damn thick LOL.
Anyways guys, as you can see in my timeline, my interview is coming up next Tuesday @ 2pm, and a little bit nervous about it, and the anticipation of it all. Anyways guys, I know I posted my evidence for what I am bringing to the interview, but I did want to make it a seperate post, so here is what I have going to the interview so far:
Photos of my wifes and I wedding, random photos of the both of us on holidays, memorial day, independance day, birthdays, Christmas, Thanksgiving, photos of us at friends and familys house, pictures of us at my mother in laws b-day in the nursing home. Our certified copy of marriage license, joint bank account, life insurance papers, medical, vision and dental forms and insurance cards, afadavit from our friend stating we are living with them, all necessary IDs( passport, birth certificates, my EAD card, both of our SSNs), my wifes divorce decree, my step sons emergency contact form from school stating, I am an emergency contact, 2 months worth of paystubs from wifes job, wedding, birthday and christmas cards to both of us, income tax, my round trip bus ticket proving I had no intentions on staying the last time I enetered the US and a copy of the entire AOS package.
What do you guys think?
Wow.. sounds like you are all set! I would think that's plenty of documents to prove your marriage! I have interview this Friday, and I'm not even close compare what you have. Good luck!
-
Hey all!!!
I'm safely returned to US using the fresh AP through San Francisco. First the officer reviewed paper and sent me to another room (I was all freaking out) but it was to just verify details. I stayed there for about 10 minutes and everything went smoothly. While I was out of town, I received EAD card in hand and it was post marked on Dec. 22, so I figured I got it last year.
I'm starting to collect evidences for my interview on the 30th. Good luck to everyone!

Hi October filer!
I got two emails from CRIS yesterday, and my EAD and AP were approved!!
It's kind of strange, because I haven't received my biometrics letter yet, so I wonder why they approved my EAD.
If they don't mention it on the next notice, I'll call them to ask about it...
congrats aomary!! and thanks for the updates for october filers!!! that gives us great hope!!!
-
hi smallz, yes that's correct if there is no 1099 (usually for independent contractors) then just send the w-2 forms, tax transcripts and paystubs.

Thanks rosie for updating the spreadsheets!

Just want to make sure this is normal -- we filed for the AOS in mid-October. NOA's were sent right away. Had the biometrics in mid-November. We are pretty sure we should be getting an RFE for the medical because we didn't send it with the package but wanted to get the AP paperwork in right away, just hoping that we could travel for Christmas - not going to happen. But we haven't had ANY movement ("touches") since the biometrics. Is this normal?
After biometric was complete, there was a touch on AOS and EAD like two days later.

Seems like October filers are getting our interview dates in now! I have my interview date set on Jan 30, 09.
What I really need is an AP, because my husband and I are planning to have a big wedding celebration during Christmas time.
My work (vacation) schedule and his school schedule won't allow us to have celebration during the middle of the week, and we already bought plane tickets to back to Korea...
Has any October filers heard on AP yet?
Do you think it would be wise for me to request for an expedite? hmm...
-
Hello to my fellow October filers. I found out about this website not to long ago, so I get to join Oct. filer just now! :0)
My husband recieved the notice for an interview yesterday. The online status did not change and it is still appearing as pending from last soft touch date.
Wish for the best for October filers!
Bringing 15 yr old sister
in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
Posted
Hi. I'm a US Citizen, and I have a 15 yr old sister. If I want to bring her to the states, what would be the most quick way? Can I bring my parents and since she's under 21, she can come along with parents or do I have to file it differently?
Thanks in advance!
