  1. We solved our problem with my husbands missing DS-3025 form. We phoned Knightsbridge Drs office in London and they faxed it to us with in half an hour. They even wrote well wishes for our future on cover letter ((Thanks Lucy at Knightsbridge!!!! And Bless you.))

FYI- I don't know about other DRs but Knightbridge keeps the records for a year. Easy to just call over and collect it but you must know date and time of your medical and have a fax. No emails.

    See my orginial post.

  2. Hello everyone.

My new husband and I are in a bind. We just discoved the I-693 requirements this evening when putting together the AOS packet. Arggg! I thought we had everything covered. Anyway, we can not find the DS-3025 where he had a couple shots left to go. We have less then 20 days to file AOS and I am afriad we are going to fall out of status with this new development as he will need to received all the shots again.

Does anyone know if the embassy Dr in his home country would still have the DS-3025 on record?

Is it adviseable to begin the shot process all over again and send in the AOS with out the I-693; then send it in after we receive an RFE.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

  3. I can track my fiance's visa on the DX Courier website!

Due for delivery tomorrow! (He paid for before 12 PM :) )

Now we are busy with flight bookings and preparation...I am going to the UK to make a short trip to Pakistan before POE because his mother has not seen him for over a year and also to help get his things here.

I most probably will not be active on VJ until we get back here in the USA, so I would like to take this minute to thank every SINGLE PERSON that has offered words of kindness, advice, compassion, and helped in ways that we cannot explain....You all mean a lot to us! I am sorry I can't name every single person, I am afraid I might miss someone, but that doesn't mean that we have forgotten anyone!

  4. The petition approval doesn't matter except if you don't apply for a visa within 4 months of that date. What's important now is the expiration date of the VISA. It's printed under the birth date and should be 6 months from when the visa was issued. It must be used to enter the US before that date. Are you planning on delaying his entry past February?

Thanks for clarifing it Nich-Nick. No way are we waiting until FEB. We bought plane ticket last night. He's flying in to Detroit on the 28th of this month. :)

white cow did u say detroit? do u live in Michigan? mssg me if thats the case

revalidation (detroit speak for unnecessary pain in the azz stuff) the did it at poe, and it really isnt anything u need to worry about. more importantly mssg me if u are here in michigan.

Yeppers- I am near Detroit. I just sent you message. :-) (my 1st message I ever sent on VJ)

    Prima ..........soon to be Mrs!!!!!!

Thanks Prima...good luck with POE, looking forward to hearing from you from THIS SIDE of the pond.

well i'm here now, and it was ok, long lines in Detroit, and I had to pay excess on my bags at Heathrow. I had to get my visa revalidated because I was approved way back in September had to go in another line for the K1 to be ok. other than that hassle free, except I will say to anyone " dont fly NWA!" they are awful, terrible food, nasty service. I spilt water on my blanket and was old that theres one per chair.

well i'm gonna get some rest, absolutely shatterd but i'm here with my lovely husband to be. Thank s to all of you for keeping me going.

Marm i'm stilll lookinf out for you.

Hey Prima, My fiance sent me his Visa and I noticed it had the date that the petition was approved as Nov 13th 2008. What exactly did you have to do to get the Visa revalidated? I just wanted to let my fiance know someone else was thru it and not to fear. :-) Any info you can provide we would appreciate.

Hiya everyone. Well it finally happend. My lovely fiance phoned and said the passport and visa arrived and everything is correct. Praise God!!!! wooo hoooooo!!!!!!!

  8. Hi everyone,

Had some issues getting the docs back to embassy as my fiance was confused. He ended up sending the requested doc special delivery and then phoned curior for his passport. So the two items arrived separately.

So just the info for anyone wanting to loosely compare their expected times.

    Intreview- July 7th

Sent requested translated doc- July 20

    Sent passport- July 23

Items received (not sure when but DOS finally said the emabassy had everything they needed and the visa was in the final stages, whatever that means)- Aug 5

Curior has sch delivery- Aug 10.

We are rather skeptcal (and after reading horror stories of typos on visa) to make plans and celebrate too much yet but come Monday, we will be on top of world.

Marm- by the way, I am mostly a lurker here but not a day goes by where I don't think and pray for you and your beloved to be together soon. I can't wait for the day you post the good news update.

  9. We are a bit confused.

My fiance was approved pending a translated doc. (the doc was translated correctly).

My fiance said it would take 5 days once he sent in the translation.

He got the item retranslated and then sent it next day delivery to the embassy. He tried to contact the curior service 1st but they said that they didn't have anything in their system telling them that the embassy needs to pick anything up from him. He then thinks that the embassy will contact the curior service to pick up his passport after they receive the items.

I was under the impression that the curior service would pick up both doc and passport.

Can anyone tell me how the system works for getting the item back to the embassy. Seems like a guessing game to me.

  10. Happy Day! We are approved. Its all bought and paid for.... only thing is he needs to get one document from Croatia retranslated and send it back via courier with his passport.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I can't believe it. Praise God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whoooo hoooo!

    Yippy do da!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No other words to describe how I am feeling....

    :-)

  11. Hello everyone.

Just wanted to report in to say I have had my Visa interview date set at the London embassy for....

    JULY 31st.

    That's a long gap between submitting the packet 3 ( May 18th ), Having my medical ( May 22nd ).

I have already had my fiancee send me all her paperwork and stuff in perperation...

    Now the long wait begins...

Has anyone else been allocated a July Interview ?

    Hi Gary-

My fiance sent his packet earlier then you but we sent the checklist on the 18th as well. I hope this means we will be hearing from them soon with a date.

    Hi Bob-

Could you let me know how we could fix it if we do get such a late date. My finace put late May date but May is long gone.... :-(

    Thanks-

    White cow

  12. Girl, after nearly a month of waiting and phoning, I wrote a letter and asked for an interview date. Maybe try that (include his case no.). Good luck, I know how you feel.

Hi Camie- its way early for me to try this yet but out of curiosity- but could you tell me how you worded the letter?

  13. Hiya fellow UK K1 Visa filers-

For those who phoned the DOS and got the interview date- how long after you sent in packet 3/checklist before they were able to give you the intreview date?

My finace sent the checklist May 18th (he sent the rest of packet 3 back in early April), and I have phoned the DOS every other day starting last week praying for good news.

Also- had anyone had an issue with a woman at the DOS that doesn't even look up the case. There were a couple of times that I gave the case number and the DOS lady said right away there was there are no updates and she hangs up. Doesn't seem like she had time to look at the case. But I usually phone back and ask again and get someone else who takes the time to look at my case and tells me its still pending and no interview date yet.

Seem like the same chick everytime.

    Thanks for any inputs!

  14. I think in general London is considered a relatively easy embassy to interview with. The presence of the US citizen is not required in London as it is (defacto) for some south american countries.

I had considered flying out there as well, for moral support as it seems like from the reviews the ones who had their fiance(e) by their side felt a lot more relaxed, but it would need 3 days off (which I don't have to spare), and $800. As far as I know there's not much the US citizen can do anyway except hand holding.

Be sure that your affidavit of support is filled out completely according to the instructions (London wants "DO INTEND" checked, and then some mention of complete financial support as you are getting married seems to be sufficient). This is the most helpful thing you can do.

When you say I must have "do intend" checked- is that the area on the I-134 where (#11) where I check that I do intent to make specific contributions to the person named in #3? I read in an immigration book that I should check do not intend. eck! So I should proably redue this and resend it to my fiancee right away.

A question on a similar note (and maybe I should really start a new thread for this) the dates of the items I sent him (I-134, check stubs, letter from employer, bank letter and stmt are from last Dec) We had some issues that held us up so we were not able to send the checklist in until this week.

Is it advisable that I resend these items so its closer to interview or can I send them addtional items (bank stmt, letter from employer) to suppliment everything else my fiancee has?

  15. Hi everyone- I searched the forum with out much luck in finding this out....

Can the American finance go to the interview with the beneficiary.

Has anyone done this? Or think its important to do if you can? We thought we should spend the extra cash to fly me out there to join him once he gets his interview date but if most people don't have issues for approval we would rather save the cash. We just don't want to take any chances that he won't get approved. (God forbid)

I flew out earlier this year (april) for his citizen ship ceremony and to introduce my son to him. He and I have been together for 3 years and I have made 3 trips to him so plenty of receipts, tickets, and picts to prove our mad love (relationship)

    Thanks!

  16. Hey everyone-

We still haven't heard anything from the embassy for packet 4. When I phoned DOS today they said they still do not see anything being received at the embassy.

My fiance sent out his DS forms 6 weeks ago and the checklist 3 weeks ago.

This is getting discouraging as we had already sent everything to them before Christmas. That time we thought the mail system lost it.

    Anyone else having these issues?

    Thanks-

    Amanda

  17. We have been waiting forever for instructions from the embassy on how to approach my financee's ID issue. He has only Travel document (that embassy said would work in lieu of passport) and no passport or drivers' lic. The people schuduling his medical said the TD won't work... They must have letter from embassy saying that the TD is approved as proof of idenity.

Its been 3 weeks and still no answer from embassy. They say to be patient but oiy..... I am afraid that the 4 month expiration on the NOA2 will expire.

Is there any help that I can get state side to help with an embassy?

    Thanks in meantime.

    White Cow

We were told the Travel docuement will work and is accepted. He has status of legal right to remain in UK. The home office actually took his passport from his country of origin.

  19. Hi everyone- Thanks in advance for any answers.

I have received the NOA2 dated for Nov 13, 2008 and my fiance' is apply thru London embassy.

He sent in all forms in packet 3 but for his police certificate. We also have a complication due to his only having legal right to remain in UK (He is waiting for approval from the embassy to use his TD as form of ID at medical).

So we are doing alot of waiting for answers are are concerned that the waiting will send us past the Mar 13, 2009 date. I phoned the travel state dept regarding this and the gentlemen on the phone said that this date is for the USCIS and doesn't have anything to do with embassy. He said its from a few steps ago and the case is open and to be patienet. (yeah right)

I get the impression from this site that the date does have to do with the whole process. From approval to interview. Does anyone know more info on the specifics on this date?

    Thanks-
