  1. Guys and gals, please help. Called NVC today and they said they got something from us yesterday. Am assuming it's the RFE'd photos. But we noticed from the emails they sent us, my maiden name was used. Yet we've consistently given my married name, including when calling NVC. It's also in the USCIS NOAs and hardcopy NVC letters. Why is it they are beingatc inconsistent? The operator started to tell me, "Well what you can do is..." and the line got cut off. Long distance. Operators were gone less than 10min. later after reloading. (Other times I called it was busy.)

Can someone advise us on what to do? Can we just ask the supervisor to make the correction tonight? I think it's important since they may declare Case Complete any day now they have all the stuff. Would it cause a problem if they used maiden name in the petition when my passport has been amended to reflect married name? Is this a big deal? Any advice please? Husband is mad as hell and I'm losing my goddamned mind. We're already way behind everyone else in our batch. :(

We have the same case. But I had it corrected when I sent my DS3032 via email. I attached a scanned copy of my passport for their reference. They corrected my name after a week.

Please see attached letter I sent them.

  2. Hello Everyone! B)

Has anyone of you paid the Document Verification Fee?

I paid P650 at Metrobank and sent SMS to DELBROS, but I didn't get any reply. I wonder if you guys already paid the same and did get SMS reply.

    Thanks and God Bless!!! :)

  3. Thanks for sharing your case too...I'm looking forward to same response from them too. :)

I will let you know by then....Have a nice day!

We received a NOA with an incorrect name on it. I called the number on the notice and someone answered after being on hold about 45 minutes. The woman who answered the phone was actually pretty helpful and sent out another letter with the corrected information, which arrived about two weeks later.
  4. Hello! Our service center is in California, but we didn't also receive receipt number (maybe got lost somewhere). My husband called USCIS and he provided the required info when asked and they gave him the case number through phone.

we have the same situation as yours..we applied last march 2007 but until now we only have a receipt number...we dont have yet the case number..and this month he will be interview for his citizenship..can i ask you something how did you upgrade your I-130? our service center is vermont..

we didnt know what to do because in the upgrade letter you have to write the case number but we dont have yet...what we're suppose to do..tnx

  5. Hi there! My husband took his oath taking December 2008 and upgraded my I-130 petition (which was filed July 2007) on December 30, 2008. My I-130 petition was finally approved January 16, 2009.

    Hi All

My husband became a U.S citizen on 5th Dec 2008 and upgraded my application I-130 which was filed in march 2007 on 5th dDec 2008 itself. He recieved a mail that teh application has been upgraded as well and we have noticed an update on 23rd Dec 2008 which is the last.

How long more will it take for us to get an approval and for our case to reach NVC for the processing to start??

  6. Hey thanks for sharing your case....:) I appreciate it.

I'm pretty sure we provided all documents with correct name information before. My passport, birth certificate, marriage certificate and accomplished forms had all my correct name. I assumed that this is due to error in encoding my name in USCIS.

Well, I'm still hoping that this will not create potential problems on our application.

Thanks again! I'm glad you made it through!

I erroneously wrote that Govi has a middle(caste) name on the I-130 and then found out that he doesn't use that name on documents so I emailed CSC and they said I needed to provide a copy of the beneficiary's birth certificate showing the correct name. I waited until NVC phase since we needed to provide that anyway, in my cover letter with the DS-230 I explained the name issue and now our case is complete at NVC.
  7. Hi Everyone,

Our I-130 petition was approved last January 16, 2009. We already received mail from NVC instructing us to send DS3032 and to pay I-864 bill, but we noticed that my (beneficiary) middle name was printed incorrectly in the mail. We checked the NOA2 from USCIS and we also noticed that my married middle name was also wrong. My married name is Sarah Espinosa Sison, my maiden name is Sarah Galindez Espinosa. In the approval notice, it was Sarah Galindez Espinosa.

Will this cause us problem in my visa application? My hubby will call NVC soon, but just wanna know if you guys have any idea or advise/insights about it?

Thank you very much! This site has been very helpful. :star:
