No - there's no requirement for that. File either married filing jointly or married filing separately - whichever benefits you the most financially.
Thank you so much for the quick response i really do appreciate that.

Hi everyone, just wanna need some advice if what is the best thing to do when filing a tax?Is it advisable to file jointly? My husband filed for bankruptcy last year and i told him that we are going to file a tax jointly that way i can use it as a proof of our marriage when i will be having my ROC next year.He said that we should have to file a tax individually because i might be affected as well since he filed for bankruptcy.Which is which mga fellow members? File a tax jointly or not? What are the advantages when you file jointly? Is it really a must that when we do ROC we should also have to send docs.to USCIS like joint tax return?Need some clarrification on this matter pls..

They definitly smelled burnt meat, thats why they were there at ur place...didn't you offer them coffee or something, would be a + point for you. Anyways..I won't think you would be in trouble after USCIS visited you but yea! your case might go little faster to get its decision. These could be the red flags that they doubted your relationship cuz of age diff and the number of marriages your husband are holding upto now. But you never know what other things they might looked into it. If you feel confident that you proved the bonafide relationship to them. No worries at all! person in real relationship is kinda strong in his/her actions so u have to be like that. Age diff wouldn't be a problem for you but it might bothered USCIS to have a look into your ongoing relationship. I dont know who are you fearing off. Second thing! USCIS deals thousands of cases per day and yes they approve some from them without Interview, because when they look at the paperwork, its all in ordre and everything is there! plus they go through the copy of intended immi's interview (the one for K1 or for whatever case in US embassy they took) So in short! Once they find the case is crystal clear and there is no need for 2nd in person interview, they approve it there n then.
Ok my thoughts for you..
Don't work
Have your paperwork ready if you are going out from one state to another, avoid going near to border areas like california. Border forces have their checkposts 100 miles before the border ends, and they could stop you to check your status in this country, (I have read a couple story on VJ, she showed almost all the documents that she's married to a USC and stuff but they didn't let her go and she was in their custody for almost a month)
Avoid unnecessary trips to see how US looks like. (you can do it once you have GC.
Laterss...
I was thinking about that Cino. They probably doubted our relationship because of our big age gap and his past marriages. But age gap is never been a problem for both of us,since from the start we never talk about our age difference. We love each other and it just happen that my husband is older than me. What else they want from us huh?I can't understand the immigration people sometimes because some AOS applicant's doesn't have any interview and they just receive their green card without any hassle. It's unfair to those who spend effort in preparing those documents that they asked. Why are they like that?Hmm....i am just hoping that they are now satisfied after their visitation. Thanks guys for all your responses, it enlighten my mind. Well, i offered them a drink but they refused it. They seems nice though..the other one even appreciated my english bulldog puppy which was given to me by my husband after we got married.

I was alone in the house because my husband is at worl. They ask alot about my husband. He is actually a filipino and i am 24 and he is 54.This is his third marriage and his wife was all filipinas.Probably, they are thinking that our marriage is not bonafide.I showed them every rooms in our house, our room and even our closet, bathroom and etc...I am worried thinking about this stuff huh!
I wouldn't say it's normal in every case, but I'd actually be surprised if they DIDN'T visit you considering your husbands now had THREE marriages to Filipinas, and considering the massive age difference. Were all his other wives much younger than him too? I'm sure if you're both living together and could prove this by showing his and hers clothes and toiletries etc and you could answer the questions they asked then things will be fine.
You can't really blame them for turning up to double check, I think that's just sensible given the circumstances.
They have the same age with his first ex-wife and his second ex-wife was 21 years younger than him.

I do hope they had showed you proper identification before you let them into your house.
I agreee, did they?
Yup, they showed me an identification that they are from USCIS
-
Miss jane.... obviously they doubted your marriage because of the age difference and your husbands previous marriages....
By the sound of it you gave the immigration guy more than enough evidence to keep him happy!!
I think it'll be a good outcome....
Good luck!!
I am hoping for that mamasue:) I hope there will be no more second interview because my husband is going to absent from work again huh!
-
Oh my.... i hope all they have seen in our house is enough evidence already that we have a bonafide marriage.Do you think we will be asked again for a second interview?

They look at some of the bills which is in my husband's name. I asked them if they wanted to see our joint bank account and utility bills which is in our both names, but they said "never mind". They asked me if the house is in my husband's name,i said yes. That's all they asked me,

Hello Fellow VJ members,
I would like to share my unpleasant experience during my AOS interview. I had my interview last August 04, 2009 at Las Vegas USCIS local office. It happened to be that the interviewer does not speak very well because he was a mexican and i could hardly understand the words that comes out from his mouth.Sometimes i let him repeat the questions huh!His questions was how we met , he asked pictures when we were still dating with my husband (and i showed him bunch of pics when my husband visited me in the PH).He also ask my husband about how many times he got married and where does he work at.Last thing he asked was our pictures during our marriage, date of our marriage and the chapel where we got married.Seems everything was fine but i was just wondering because he did not told me if I was approve. He only get the attached I-94 in my passport and told us "THat's it," we will just let you know. What does it mean? Does it mean that i am not approve?Oh my....i am very confused and worried thinking about this thing. Does anyone has the same experience like ours? PLs...share your experiences and your insights about this matter.Your answers is highly appreciated.
Just think positive. Usually they will get the I-94 if it's approved. Hang in there.
THanks sojen for the positive advice:) i appreciate that. I hope everything is just fine regarding with my AOS status.
