in tucson..our IO was a very nice lady!...

our interview probly lasted around 10-15 minutes..it was an in and out kind of thing..

these are the questions we were asked:

    to my husband:

    my name

    both my parents name

    my birthdate

    where i was born

    and our current address

    to me:

    when and where we met..

    my full name

    my husbands birthdate

the last time i had used my visa

if i ever had problems with the police, immigration, deportation (that checklist in the app)

the documents they asked to see...

    were copies of bills

our copies of our credit cards

    my social security card

    my visa (they kept it)

    my EAD

    and our arizona id's

    and that is about it...

everything went smoothly and she told us that i was going to recieve my conditional residency card in about 2-3 weeks..and to make sure to change the conditions in two years..and she said in three years i could get my citizenship...! so im super excited and relived...

all thanks to all the people who showed support!..may God bless you all..and give you a smooth finish to your immigration process!..lets keep everyone updated!

so hope for the best!..and hopefully i can be doing the dance sometime soon!

  7. We were all dressed very well. I think it makes a big difference, and I would recommend this to all who are interviewing.

    Congratulations on your approval!!!

so your interview only lasted about 30 minutes? im curious..about how long we're gonna be in there...my interview is early in the morning at 8..and i go in at work at 12.30 hopefully our interview doesn't last very long! but everything goes very smoothly!

    thanks for your input!

  8. drl i did my biometrics a day before you.... on the 9th..

my applications have not been touched since 12/10/08...

    AP AND I-130 since 12/01/08...

so.. i dont know whats going on... the only thing that makes me happy is that at least i have my interview next month...

hope we get good news soon tho...

hey..dont worry..none of my stuff had been touched AT ALL...just on the 11th of november..a week before my biometrics (nov. 18th)..and the next touch i got was the approval for my EAD...so hang on..one of these days youll just receive the surprising email..that happened to me.! first youll get a production ordered email...then you will get another one..then finally you will receive the approval notice sent email..and you should be getting your EAD card that same day..or the next. the whole process usually takes 10 days after the first email...!

    good luck!

  9. i got hired at Citi Group...its a call center for Citi Bank customers...

although it was has nothing to do with my career interest (nursing) i applied there for the benefits they offer..like medical, dental, vision, and discount prescriptions, also employee discounts..and also discounted employee credit cards (big plus+ because most are 0% interest). and free checking and savings accounts..

so while i finish school ill be working here! :D

and i believe that you are allowed and eligible to work anywhere you want with your EAD...except for those jobs requiring US Citizenship...

    how cool... congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

did they ask for any experience or.. something like that!!

im in a dilemma rite now...

im not really sure if i can get a good job without working experience in the US...

my wife works for ATT and id like to get a job there too.. on retail... but you have to go through a lot of background checks.. etc..

    soooooooooo i dunno lol

no they didnt ask for any WORK experience...but they do ask if like you finished high school...or if you have done any volunteer work..and stuff like that...i thought i was in a dilemma like you without experience! but i wasnt! thank God for that..i prayed til they called my name :innocent:

try doing volunteer work at schools or long term care facilities..that gives you experience...

the background checks dont really matter at this point! im sure right now we are going through a very detailed background check with USCIS! lol

  10. Hello to all fellow November AOS filers

My husband and I (I am the petitioner) have come across a problem, and I was wondering if others have come across the same problem.

We went to my husband's Bank, to create a joint bank account. But the lady said they could not add me because I don't have a Social Security Number! The lady was very nice, and tried, and asked, but told us she could not. '...Because you are in this 'grey area'...' Meaning, because I don't have a Green Card yet.

I showed her my passport, my I-94, etc.

This is making me a little worried.

She said she would type up a letter on Bank Stationary to explain to USCIS why the Bank could not add me onto the account.

But after reading many many posts here, I think having a joint bank account is important isnt it? The person at the interview will expect it?

Should we go to another Bank?

or will the letter be enough?

what bank are you trying to get an account in?? i was able to get my own account plus be added to my husbands..by just showing my visa and school ID..i have a b1/b2 visa...the only thing the personal banker told me was that i wouldnt be able to apply for any credit cards because of the unavailability of a SSN...

i have accounts at wells fargo..and bank of america..

hope i helped...i believe chase doesnt let you..unless you have two forms of identification from your home country..((my husband used to work there))

by the way..i had an interview today..and i got hired!!!...

im just in a little delay because my SSN hasnt arrived in the mail...i have to go to SSA tomorrow..! and follow up with paper work at my future employer!

if you dont mind me asking??

where did you get hired at??

the reason of the question is.. im unaware of what kind of jobs you are eligible with the EAD?

    thanks
