  1. hey guys,

no happy dance for me. i just got back from a long and somewhat painful interview in NYC. i will just write my report, feel free to skip. maybe this helps you, KPC.

anyways... sorry this is long. good luck to you, KPC.

Oh I'm sorry it was not a quick and easy interview... oh... I wonder why he was behaving like that... maybe he has seen many cases that are 'suspect'... and he was just acting to (excuse me) Cover His @$$

Maybe it has nothing to do with you guys, he was just 'Following Procedure down to a T' ...

Well if your husband asked him how it was and he said it was 'Ok' then maybe he did not find any conclusive PROOF that you two are not what you truly are. A real couple who love each other. Real people, not Fairy Land people with a VERY ROMANTIC Story and a FARIYTALE pink wedding and a wonderful honeymoon to Hawaii and their own house and bla bla bla

Not Everybody has that! What matters is your relationship...

Oh I truly hope that even after this scrutiny, you will receive Good NEWS soon... Have hope!!!

If he can't find anything that would PROVE you are not an honest couple, then why would he deny? Noooo

    You'll be fine!!!!!

    Good LUCK!!!!!!!!

  2. hey guys! i'm so nervous! my interview is tomorrow at 1:45 pm. i'm a mess! i'm trying my best to organize my things and prepare, but the more time i spend with our papers, the more scared i get.

i also have a question for the people who already had their interview: did the interviewer keep the original of your marriage certificate? because we only own one original now, and i wonder whether they want to keep it or just look at it.

also: i have a financial sponsor, will they ask me again for the documents? i didn't make copies of everything when i sent it.. it was so much stuff. we will only bring some paychecks and bank balances from the past 2 months, will this be enough?

thanks a lot... i'm trying not to freak out so much.

    Hi! DON'T despair! [[[[huggsszz]]]]

Hmm we showed the interviewer the Original of Marriage Certificate, and the copy we had made for her. She took the Copy.

But if she would've wanted the original, hey that's fine with me!

I think it would be a good idea if you can, to bring your financial sponsor's last taxes filed too

Relax... File everything carefully... label everything clearly...

You'll have a great interview! Good Luck!

Finally received email from CRIS yesterday. EAD card production ordered.

    Congratulations!!

:star: You'll soon have your card, so let the job search begin!

EAD Card Production ordered status as of March 9   whew, at last the system is updated and some good news for me:)

Oh wow I didnt know you could go to the Social Security and ask them to lift that restriction!

My SSN also has that written on it, that I can only work by presenting the EAD

WOw thank you for posting that! I will go on Monday to the social security office and ask for that!

Got my GC in the mail today!

It was funny because my husband had requested a Debit card for me, and he had requested a new one for himself too. So he was opening the mail on the other side of the room and he takes out the card, he's like '...uhhh this is not your debit card... It's your Green Card!!'

    what a surprise!!

(I also got my debit card LOL I never in my life had carried so many cards around in my wallet B)

    Thank you to all VJFriends!!

  5. Hi Chris-lei,

I only took the Copies of I-693 that my doctor had given me to the appointment.

Of course the sealed envelope with the originals for I-693 I had sent back in November with the whole package.

I just made an extra set of copies and took it with me to the interview.

the officer did not ask me for the copies, but I felt better having them there with me.

Same with the Affidavit of Support. I took copies with me to the interview, the officer did not ask for them. She had the original in her file.

  6. I think you should make another Infopass meeting and try to convey to them that it has been TWO years

    :wow:

I have read some posts where people get their congressman/women involved in their case. I think you should also consider that option and find out who he/she is and write to him/her.

Perhaps there is NOTHING wrong with your application, it has just fallen through the cracks / is sitting on someone's desk... But don't jump to conclusions.

When was the last time USCIS contacted you via email / mail ?

  7. hey there peeps!!

Just venting out a day prior my interview... Im not nervous at all.. just exited.. I hope and Im expecting walking out of there with a stamp on my passport...

I got a job also.. is a great starting week for me... So my first day at the job is tomorrow... lol.. so.. i will go to my USCIS interview and then... to work... nice huh!!

well.. i will keep u posted!

    ciao ;)

WOW Tomorrow is going to be a Busy day for you huh!!! LOL

Well, keep calm, your interview is going to go Great. Just have all your papers in order, extra copies for USCIS ready, and be yourselves.

I hope you get a very respectful person who treats you nicely and knows how to do his/her job well.

I'm sure tomorrow you'll be posting back with a wonderful interview experience.

And Good Luck on your new Job!

I just about gave up on the waiting and was going to call USCIS and schedule an INFO pass appointment but when I got home today I found the EAD in the mail  will go get my SSN tomorrow . What a long wait!!

    Congratulations!!

And if you're lucky you'll quickly find a job like Carmen & Aldo!

  8. I'm really not complaining about not being notified, as long as they move the file, mine or other peoples. Better keep their noses in the files and get things done than messing around with that online notification (that so often was screwed in the last month or so) :)

    jhunjhun, phoenixwife, thank you!

When you guys/gals filled the SSN application form, did you realy used ink? I'm wondering if a blue/black ballpen would be good for the job:) Anything else needed, other than the passport, the birth certificate, the EAD card? Should I take the NOAs with me?

Um yes I remember filling out the SSN application with a pen

I just took my EAD with me, and my passport.

The tourist visa in my passport was expired at the time I requested my SSN, but the gentleman at the SSOffice looked at my EAD instead.

I did not take any NOAs with me.

    Good Luck! :star:

  9. How long does it take for USCIS to update and approve the AOS process after the submission of an RFE?

I think it took them about 3 weeks after I sent my RFE back to update it online. But there were a few holidays in between that might have slowed it down.

I hope you see an update on your case soon jhunjhun, who knows, even a welcome letter in the mail!

    good Luck!

It is time for us to dance, we got approved for our today's interview.

We arrived in the USCIS office ahead of time, went through all the security check and were waiting for them to call us. Our IO is a young and nice lady. She asked the questions to us by turns, some questions are for me, some questions are for my husband, and the others are for either of us. (make sure who is the person to answer the question by asking the IO)

Questions to my husband: When did your wife arrive in US? What is your wife's birthday? Where are you living now? When and where did you get married?

Questions to me:When is your husband's birthday? Who were your wedding witnesses? What are your parents' name? (This is strange, I think it is a question to my husband, so I ask the IO to make sure) What is your husband's mother's last name? Where are you living now? Are you working right now?

Questions to either of us: Describe how you guys met each other? Do you have any evidence to show that you own something together? Of course, we prepared many evidence to show them, as bank statement, insurance, etc. She asked us to give her all the evidence we bring. So we went through all the materials we bring with her and gave her the copies. She said we organized very well.

At last, she smiled and said to us, you are approved today, within 1 month, you will receive a notice from USCIS for the approval of GC, then after that, you will receive the GC. She also gave us the file # for removing the conditional of GC in 1 year 9 month. That's it.

Good luck to all the November filers for your interview.

Certainly it is Time for the Happy dance!!!!

Sorry I love these guys, and hey, Every approval deserves a lot of celebration!

  10. oh booh hooo ... hey is the US postal service considered a Government job? I guess so huh... too bad...

I guess working for the USPS is already with slim chances, since they are likely to restrain service to only Monday to Friday and suspend Saturday delivery. We're going to have to look in other areas

    :bonk: wow...

Just like our local library, they now are closed on Sundays and Fridays...

    Scary

Congratulations to Anyone who is starting a new Job Soon!!!
