I received an email from CRIS today! My husband's EAD was approved! Yupiiii!!!!

Almost hilarious.

I got a letter in the mail from USCIS, following up my service request on December 26. The letter says:

"Your application information has been entered into the system which schedules applicants for biometrics at their Local Applications Support Center. We are unable to determine how soon you should receive the Appointment Notice. Biometrics appointments are scheduled as slots become available at the Applications Support Centers and some Centers have a waiting period of three to six months. Once you have been scheduled for an appointment, you will receive an Appointment Notice to appear at a certain date and time at your local Applications Support Center. You must take the Appointment Notice that you receive with you to your appointment."

Edit: we are in Chicago, about 4 miles from the downtown USCIS office, I guess it is the Mecca of immigration, with people standing for months waiting for a bio appointment :rofl: :rofl:

Our cases are very similar!! Our biometrics was in Chicago too in December! Good luck!

My husband received biometrics too for December 19!!!! Yupiiiii!!! It's so exciting!

I received NOA dated 11-28-2008. Please update it!

They cashed our check yesterday 11/28. Yupiiii!!! This is a good sign....we are on the right track!

I just sent the package out yesterday and I would like to join your club!

We will be filing for AOS in December and we still need to have his birth certificate translated. Does anyone think it would be a problem if the translation comes from the Head of the Language Department at Purdue University? I had his Brazilian identification card translated by Purdue University for the License Branch, but I'm not sure if the USCIS will accept his birth certificate.

Yes, that's what I did too. I went to the university in my city. But the person who translates must not forget to fill and sign the paper that says she is competent to translate this document! ; )

Can you submit a copy of your trasnlated certificate? Or does it have to be the original sheet of translation?
