  1. I can tell you for a fact (since it happened to us) you can ONLY chase USCIS if you are outside processing time according to https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplay.do (CSC is processing CR1, K3 & K1 in 5 months) so unless its been 5 months since you got your NOA1, you gotta sit it out until it has been.

If it's been 5 months since, call them and file an out of processing time, they then have 45 days to reply to you with an answer on why it is.

  2. He's interviewing at the USEM in Syria? What do you mean they will not recognize your Turkish marriage? You mean the USEM won't or the Syrian government won't? What do they have to do with the process anyway?

Damn, that sucks. I'm so so sorry for you. I don't know what to say.

hey sachinsky, basically the syrian government wont recognize it because he had to get permission from the government to marry a foreigner prior to all this. we didn't know that when we got hitched. we also got married in TR because i love turkey and so does he and we wanted to honeymoon in istanbul. that was a selfish reason, perhaps, but that's what we did. i also didn't want to go to syria because i have a bitchy old aunt there that i can't stand, but i sucked it up this year and went and it turned out fine. i kinda wish now we went to syria and got married to avoid all this sh*t.... :(

thanks for your condolences..i hope you won't run into any snafus on your end

Like was said earlier, why does Syria have to recognise the marriage? the US gov recognise it and thats the most important thing, as long as they recognise it, you shouldn't have any problems getting the green card

As a side note, I don't know if you have access to the internet at the moment but I wanted to wish both you and your hubby luck for tomorrow Beth!!

  3. congrats to everyone who passed....and my condolences to everyone who didn't or who got into AP...it will end soon hopefully....

ours is in 3 days, and im a nervous wreck...haven't been able to get through to hubby, reception for mobiles in syria seems to worsen as the cold weather sets in...and it depends where you are. he has no reception at home :crying: but he is aware of his interview, and i've emailed everything to him, and still have to send more stuff in today...just my taxes and some of my itinerary stubs that i forgot to mail to him back in august....

on pins and needles literally...haven't slept properly in about a week....7-8 am every night.... :(

i'm SO SICK AND BLOODY TIRED OF THIS PROCESS.

You'll be fine! and in 3 days you'll be done with the process one way or another, your hubby is the only person who can affect it now, just trust in him to get through the interview in one piece and everything will be great for you!!

  4. Thanks all for the best wishes!!

I had my interview and got APROVED!!

just gotta wait the week to get my passport back then I'm gone :D

Also, about the dental stuff... I was told the same thing when I had my medical. Get your hubby to see a dentist NOW and get the dentist to give him quotes on what needs done, the dr's wouldnt pass my medical to the embassy until I'd had it done and sent it back to them.

I was told by the dr's that the medical is all an insurance catagory thing, so the embassy need to know all existing medical conditions (including bad teeth)

Oh #######! Husband did not say if the doctor would or would not release the medical results. Only thing I know, he did not go and get the results today, he is going Monday. More worries now. Im so fed up with all this #######, one brick wall after another, now more ####### to worry about on flight to Paris.

Beth, time for hubby to worry about something... He will get them, not something you can take care of for him here in the USA... Make sure you let him be a part of this process and have a responsibility... It will make him feel like he has an active role...

I cant take much more, Im at breaking point, this is little compared to problems. I just want to hide, and forget this mess.

Dont worry so much about it :) from my experience yesterday, the interview at the embassy is a formality, the ACO pretty much had her mind made up before she spoke to me and short of saying something stupid her decision wouldnt have changed.

  5. Hey, what kind of questions were you asked at the interview?

    Congratulations, btw!

Interestingly enough, the ACO (american consulate officer) asked me about why I was denied admittance in Nov 07 (visited too often), what I had been doing for work and if I was planning to work in the states (I told her I already have an interview lined up for shortly after I get my SSN), how I get along with Dee's kids and how they feel about our relationship (they are close to my age) and then approved me :)

Thanks all for the best wishes!!

Oh, good to know... Do they have to HAVE the dental work, or just and exam to tell them what needs to be done?

I just had to get a dentist to look at my teeth and give me list of what worked needed done, I sent that to the Dr's and they accepted that.

Thanks all for the best wishes!!

He'll have alot more of an active role on wednesday, all the questions will be directed at him and Beth will only get to be there for moral support

  7. Hey,

I had my CR1 interview today at the London embassy.. I took all of my paperwork and everything with me as well as a big stack of proof of relationship (phone records, yahoo transcripts, photos, plane tickets & hotel reservations and stuff from when Dee visited at christmas and in april), the only things they took from me were my interview letter and my passport. The consulate officer never asked to look at any of my proof of relationship stuff and didnt even ask any questions about our relationship (she asked about my wifes kids and how they felt about me, if I was going to be working and why I was denied admittance at phily airport in 2007) and then approved me and sent me on my way.

Of course differant embassy could be differant, but this was my experience from this morning, I hope this helps some what :)

  8. Yes I am 55 today so a "touch" on my birthday would be nice Ha! To get through this drawn out process and be more settled in our lives together will be wonderful. Like everything in life it will come when it's ready, at the moment it's like waiting for a pot to boil.

People in the UK cannot believe what we go through. Obviously I have not experienced UK immigration but I am sure the process is a lot more relaxed that this. The new US administration has it's hands full just now paying off the bankers (a bit like the UK) so when that mess settles down a bit then perhaps President Obama will take a look at what is needed in the immigration area. I personally believe he is the best hope for the US indeed if not for the world.

Just streamline this process and get your future citizens re-united would be great start.

    Happy Birthday!!

  9. One good thing I noticed the USCIS processing times for VSC on the I-130 is now 6 months. Now we have some kind of a time schedule.

lol, ignore that 6 months.. we're at 8 now

I knew it was too good to be true. Hang in there Dearest, soon your approval will come.

Vermont has 4 weeks now to respond to my wife (petitioner) and tell her whats going on.. hopefully they'll use these 4 weeks to approve us

I hope so too Dan, we all wish you the best of luck, and want to see you both post a approval very soon. Approvals are the best posting.

Thanks, I really hope so *fingers crossed*

  11. Well one day VSC will get their act together like sunny CSC. Good luck and keep the faith Dearest.

I just wish I knew why we didnt get the approval when we were meant to.. It's kind of disheartening sitting here watching people with filing dates after ours getting their approvals from Vermont. We're July 17th for I130 & Aug 8th for K3, and have only had 1 touch total across both applications

  12. My wife spoke to someone from USCIS yesterday regarding our I130 application being out of processing time.. apparently we were slated to have had a decision made in january.. didnt happen.. wondering why.. but thats not to relivent to this discussion..

Anyway, she was told that they are transfering applications from Vermont to California at the moment so GL to all to get a transfer!!
