  1. visa.jpg

I am such a terrible photograhper,,,

my passport and the sealed envelope were in the package @ far behind. (red/while)

    #3025 My Post

    needs to be corrected.

    >My passport w CR-1 VISA

    >Mysterious Brown Envelope

    >X-ray

    >and a few sheets of paper in Japanese with instruction.

    >>>>>X-ray is too big to fit into the package.

they gave it back to me at the end of interview. sorry...

Anyway, passport is not in sealed envelope so

you can open the package, take out passport / sealed envelope.

The sealed envelope (in my case) was actually taped.

on that tape, there were a few stamps that says

"to be opened only by American Autorities at Port of Entry"

    both in English and Japanese.

I think everything that is not sealed can be opened.

  2. Then kept his passport and said they will send him a letter in 1-2 weeks and not to open it  not sure about that I think that would be his passport... Alhamdolilah we have no AP!!!!:dance:

I think the officer was talking about the sealed Mysterious Brown Envelope.

When I got my package from embassy after interview,

I opened the package, there were four items.

    My passport w CR-1 VISA

    Mysterious Brown Envelope

    X-ray

and a few sheets of paper in Japanese with instruction.

~do not open the brown envelope, check info on your visa if there is something wrong (like spelling) etc.

    :star:

ok so i understand don't open the brown envelope but he said they will send it to him in 1 - 2 weeks and not to open it what about his passport???

    ok,

gimmie 10 min or so, I will take pic and upload here.

  3. It is 9:20 pm here in Tokyo.

I will be taking off to my POE / ORD - Chicago O'Hare in 20 hours.

Ling Ling had copied everything we turned in and put in an envelope,

and the Mysterious Brown Envelope looks and weights almost the same.

I will take the copy just in case of something baaaad.

I need to make sure I don't give them Ling Ling version at customs. :-P

I've flown to ORD so many times but this time is different.

    excited and nervous.

I will write and post my story after I finally get home with CR-1 visa.

Thank You All for your support. :jest:

  7. husband's interview started 1 hour and 22 min ago no word yet.......

    He'll be alright.

When I was @ mine, no electric devices were allowed including cellphone

and I had to wait for my turn to get interview for a long time,

so Ling Ling - my husband had to wait for a looooong time

    without hearing from me.

1 hour and 22 min sounds quite normal.

  8. Visa arrived this morning! I have it and the (Do Not Open) envelope in my hand. Flight over is a week today.

Good luck everyone with interviews to come.

    Lynne x

In case it helps - here were the questions I was asked at the interview....

    - Tell me what your husband's job title means (he has an unusual one)

    - How long have you worked at (name of my company)

    - Will you be able to continue your job over there (I said no and he said that was a shame)

    - What is the longest time you have been in the US

    - The two children on your petition are they yours? (No, stepchildren)

    - How did you meet?

    - Have you ever been in trouble with the police

    - Have you ever been in trouble with American immigration

    - Which countries have you lived in for more than 6 months since the age of 16

    Congratulations!!!

and thanks you for the list of questions. :star:

  9. Isma, CONGRATULATIONS.

    It's a great Friday!!!!

 sure is..... 4 days left until his interview

    Hey Rajaa,

    I bet you're very excited :)

I'm excited for you and the hubby.

    HEY...where's Nimche?

He's abandoned us....probably enjoying life with his wife....dirty rotten scoundral

yeah can't seem to sleep.... now offically it's 3 days....

I bet he is "busy" hehehe and do you blame him? if i recall you were pretty quite when you were with Ring Ring

You guys are already set but if you still feel nervous,

just read over stuff you turned in and if you have some

    questions, just ask each other.

The interviewer is just a human being, just wants to

make sure everything you wrote on the official doc

    is true. :star:

    You are almost there!!!

  10. Isma, CONGRATULATIONS.

    Guilty as charged

 if i got near my husband you wouldn't see me here either  well maybe in between my "business"

so Ling Ling what is the ETA on the little misses?

having worked for an airline for 12 yrs,

I got so excited to see "ETA", yes Estimated

Time of Arrival... DEC 11@ ORD, Chicago O'Hare Int'l AP.

    :star:

  11. Well, I'm back from Montreal and one IR-1 visa approval richer! The things I was fretting over were indeed touched on in the interview (the medical history, the first 'technically illegal' AOS attempt), but I answered honestly and she accepted my explanations. YAAAAYYYY!!!

 way to go... did you get the visa in the same day??? whoooo hooooooo

No, I wish. Have to wait for them to mail the passport and documents. They say it will be up to 2 weeks, but the experience floating around the Canada forums has the visa in the mail the next business day 9 out of 10 times.

    Suuuwwweeeeeetttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and i am kind of getting nervous.... tomorrow is Friday the last friday before his interview EEEECCCKKK!

I know, I was nervous before interview although I had been to the US Embassy in Tokyo to

get my work visa a few times in the past.

But, there is no need to worry cuz you have an interview date set.

It means you two have everything filed already. They wanna make sure

you are a human. They want to double check that your sweetie is not coming

to the US for just earning money$$$ or something.

I suppose they've met so many people @ interview as their job,

and I am sure they can tell the difference btw truth and untruth.

True Love will conquer anything.

  12. Quick question If I want to find out if my case has left NVC how many days should I wait before I can call them?

And do I have to also call the embassy to find out if they got it or what should I do?

Did they schedule the interview? About 5-7 days after they schedule it.

Naw they said that they'll be scheduling interviews in the second week of December.

    that's not too far.

am happy to hear that.

  13. who all is left without an interview date??

    me...:(

    ???????????

Hi! How are you feeling today?

    trudger24 is quite right!

I understand that not having an interview date makes

you more worried, but that's why this Visa Journey community

    is up here.

I think whoever already got VISA get busy to move on

to the next step, moving into the States, and don't

    access this site.

But we never forget about our friends here.

My husband Ling Ling and I are subscribed to this

thread so if you need help or want to chat, just post

your comment / thoughts / question, anytime!!

or if you are having a problem which is too personal

    just send us private message.

I had my interview in Tokyo, I know we are under

different situation, but, we can share how to deal with

NVC at least. My husband Ling Ling taught me how

to speak to them on the phone when I had to inquire...

We will work it out. :star:

  14. 22 days until his interview..... :reading: what else do i do?

:D make sure alarm clock works not to oversleep on interview day.

actually, I set three... regular alarm, cellphone, and lil alarm... ;)

Thanks I'll be sure to tell Hassane to do that, he won't even sleep I am sure of it

he will travel to Casablanca the day before the interview and stay at a hotel there, then have the interview bright and early the next morning,

I will call him bright and early too, I will not let him miss this appointment, not as hard as we worked and as long as we waited

this process is very trying and tiring

    (F) that is so sweet of you.

plus it will encourage him a lot for sure!

I called my husband right before entering

US Embassy, I felt so much better. :)

    :crying: I know,,,

it's a really really long and tiring process. :sleepy:

 but you are almooooost there. :star:
