  1. Congrats Bluemist! I'm so happy for you.

As for us, we already received our RFE letter. They asked for my full medical exam saying that it's been over 12 months since I had it prior to K1 admission. Yes, they're right but it wasn't 12 months yet when they received our AOS application. We had medical exam at the Philippines on 4/23/08 and they received our AOS applications on 3/26/09. But we can't argue with them or else no GC for me. While for my son, they only asked for TST from him which confuses me cos we had the same medical exam and submission date. But again, we always need to satisfy what USCIS asked for, no more, no less.

Good luck to all of us!

I'm sorry to hear about your RFE.. puts a big weight on our shoulders as We're very short on money and my Husband is most likely going to be receiving the same RFE. His medical was 4/28/08 and they received our AOS on 3/18/09. So it's cutting it close.. looks like we better start saving up!

Also congrats to the recent approvals, that's great news.. quick too!

Same here. We're tight on money too but we don't a choice. Oh, I take it back. Actually there is cos when I called USCIS and spoke to an IO, she said that I shouldn't have another medical cos we filed AOS within the 12-month, but it'd really depend on who's looking at our cases. So if we'd like to do the route of proving to them that we submitted within the 12-month period, etc., there is a possibility that we may win or may not. But I don't think it'd be worth the risk. I'm not really a risk-taker in comes to this situation.

Congrats bluemist. That was really fast. Did you arrive here with K visa or visitor visa?

Thanks dracoasa. I arrived here on K1 Visa.

Thanks andyjona.Im sorry to hear about your RFE.I have a friend of mine too who just had her RFE about re-doing full medical exam. She had her medical in PI Sept.2008 same month I had my medical too but still the uscis wants her to have medical again.Another thing, when its immigration purposes, they dont take insurance,so they spent around $320 just for her medical at the civil surgeon.Anyway, she said she didnt submit I-693 along with her AOS application..she only submitted DS-3025.

In my case,I went to a civil surgeon,he looked up on my vaccination supplemental form and he saw that my HPV 1st shot were past 6mos.already so he told me to go to our doctor to have my HPV 2nd shot so we dont have to pay $150 for the shot if I will have the shot on his office,he said USCIS dont take insurance for immigration purposes,so then he transcribed my DS-3025 to I-693 form sign and sealed it and gave it to me the same day and charged me $25 for that,he just told me to go to our doctor, took the shot and fax him the proof that I took the HPV shot..I submitted my I-693 sealed envelope along with my applications and a copy of my DS-3025.

Another VJ member here too (K1 and K2) filed their AOS and it been 6months now, they just had their RFE 3weeks ago about full medical and they re-do it and sent it to USCIS,but last Friday, she told me that USCIS sent her another RFE again when she checked their case online...now she's waiting for the RFE notice in the mail so she can find out what they want again.

Im hoping for the rest here to have a smooth process and have approval soon.

    God Bless us ALL!!!

I also submitted I-693. I'm pretty sure we did everything right with regards to the documents that we submitted. I was actually anticipating to get this kind of RFE cos the date we submitted our AOS application was pretty close the our medical exam's anniv. I'm just confuse why they asked for my full exam and ask just TST for my son when we had the same med exam date. I just hope that they won't send us another RFE for my son for getting his full med  The IO I talked to said that it won't likely to happen. I'm keeping my fingers cross though.

i did not go to any civil surgeon prior to submitting my case. i only filed the vaccination report copy. well, from your experiences with this kind, looks like there will be an rfe for me on the way now. looks like it, but i hope not. i just had my medical last january 2009. looks like it, but i hope not again.

  2. It showed up on our online status for AOS that they are requesting for additional evidence. It was just sent today. Now I'm worried what could it be. The only thing I can think of is the House Title since my husband put it as an asset on the Affidavit of Support, but we didn't include the title since my husband lost his copy and his income alone is already above the poverty line without his assets.

I'd bet money that is not what the RFE is for. As long as you're showing sufficient income, they don't care about any assets listed. Just try to be patient and not worry.....you'll know soon enough. Chances are, it's no big deal, and you'll be able to reply quickly and resolve it. Let us know. Hang in there! Best of luck to you!

Thanks for the encouragement. It helps alot! Yes, I'll keep y'all posted.

thats alright... you have your EAD. somehow, you can move on with your life. get drivers license and work... dont worry for now. wait till you receive the rfe letter. =)

  3. hi guys! i have been reading all along with this thread since it started and Im just wondering if all of you guys has visited a civil surgeon before you submitted your aos, ead, ap papers? because i didn't. right now, after the biometrics etc. i dont know what im expecting to get. an rfe, the ead or the approval?

i only did because i had my HPV vaccine once i got in the USA, otherwise i would have sent the embassy copy. however i sent it of to Dr Arnold to transcribe, they transfered the embassy's form over and were happy to accept a letter from my PCP saying he had administered the HPV shot. so if you do get a rfe re the vaccines i would use doctor arnold as they are quick.

Yup, California a EAD is proof of legal status, so looks like we're all set for a CA ID.

As to the question about Civil Surgeon in the US. I haven't. The stickied AOS thread says that as long as your interview is within 1 year of your overseas medical, you shouldn't have to. If the paperwork got lost or expires, you will be issued an RFE. So no RFE, no need to get it done. At worst when you go in to your interview they'll issue the RFE there. Or at least that's my understanding.

I'm kinda worried, as I'm sure my wife didn't complete her vaccinations. However the hospital didn't give her a copy of the paperwork they submitted to the embassy. Just a piece of paper saying everything was done. So I'm not 100% what she still needs to get shots for. But I think we're clear on that and it won't come up again until the time comes to lift the conditions on her green card.

Will know for sure in less than a month. ;-)

Since she went through Thailand on a K Visa I am assuming, she had all her vaccinations done. The embassy in Thailand requires it as part of the medical to get a K visa.

Thanks guys!!! Let's just hope that they don't lose our medical papers, etc... Still hoping for a good result. The SLEC in Manila just gave me a piece of paper containing what shots they gave me there.

Thats just what I enclosed to the AOS papers for Chicago.

I need the EAD, so I can apply for driver's licence, get a job, etc.etc...

EAD approval, where are you? =)

  4. Well, I just wanted to say that for 2 days, I couldn't check the status of my petition and I was starting to get irritated  especially seeing people getting approved already.. hehehe.. I was just getting excited and happy for everyone..

Well, after getting stuck in traffic and a normal trip from Seattle to where I live only usually takes 35-40/mins.. it took me 2 n a half hours to get home today!!

Anyways, I just wanted to share my good news that I found when I got home and decided to check my status:

    Receipt Number: WAC0xxxxxxxx

Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

    Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On November 26, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.

And I never got another touch besides the one that happened like 4-5 days after my NOA1 date.. Oh, and I'm #84 on IGOR's List.. but not nemore :P

Couldn't have asked for a better surprise the day before Thanksgiving.. and I'm really THANKFULL for the quick approval, GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE AND HANG TIGHT!!! Just keep busy with work or whatever and it will go by fast!!! (L):thumbs:
