How long before I or my husband can apply for a visa for my parents to come to the US,when i have been here 1 year on a visa and have a greencard?Any replies would be gladly appreciated..thank you!

This is not from the Los Angeles Embassy and is lacking some of the documents they require. Each Embassy has different requirements. I know, you would .think they would all be the same....but they are not

I have been to few states for work purposes and sometimes when I met a filipina as well, considering the time she was just here in the states, (say just 2-6 months) they feel like they've just earn the right to be a b**ch, and some thinks their a$*es don't stink.. I mean, there are so many trying hard to blend-in that quick in the American way ( e.g the way they cloth their selves, the way they talk, interpret things). Just because some girls married a foreigner they evolved too quick. I don't blame other people why they would immediately think that these types of gals really just use their husbands as a ticket to the USA. It makes me aggravated everytime I come across with a fellow pinay who acts like this.

Why can't we just put our feet on the ground and stay humble. CAN SOMEBODY ENLIGHTEN ME WHY THIS HAPPENS???

Congratulations everyone! Great news that we got our EAD and AP today!! Now just the interview next week to get through. Too bad we can't hold on any longer than a week to our EAD. But having the green card will be so much nicer!

Yeah having GC is much nicer!but i am wondering though..i didn't received my EAD yet,,i thought EAD will come first tahn GC..but ohh well im so happy i got my greencard already!hubby is so happy also..so now we will be able to apply for ssn.

I check the mailbox today and i got a letter from USCIS and my heart beats faster.. but im prepared for it though.So i open it and saw my GC! so lovely!Was so happy and my plan today is to wake up my dearest hubby..will see if he will be grumpy...hehehehe i was in hurry to post my good news here but i posted it to february filers! oppss sorry!

(I kind of wish we didn't have to give back the EAD card during the interview - I really like it - but having a green card is definitely a million times better than just the EAD )

menina and Danu are right! You give back the EAD card during the interview - the green card is your proof of authorization to work in the U.S. now

4.What's the reason why i love my husband

5.What's my phone number?

And most of the questions is based on the forms the you filed.

Questions for Hubby:

1.What's my parent's name?

2.Brother's name (she was asking while looking at the pictures)

3.What is the reason why hubby loves me.(heheheh)

I've bee married to my beautiful Filipina wife for over a month now and I'm so happy that she got to the USA problem free. It was worth all the time, money and effort for her to get here.

But being in the midwest right now has its major downfall. I live in a town that is almost a third Hispanic/Mexican and there are no Filipinos here at all. When my wife and I are out in public we get so many rude stares that I can't believe, even from the Mexicans. My suspicion is that some people are just racist and too ignorant to realize she's not a Mexican in the first place. Anybody ever get that mix-up as well? I didn't realize the full extent of how narrow-minded dumb hicks are in rural communities in the midwest until I got married to a foreigner and started walking around with her in the grocery store.

I don't care what other people think, but after awhile it gets really discouraging and irritating. Her first impression of the USA was pretty much people acting in that way. I had to take her to a big city to show her how much nicer the people are in general. People think most small towns in the midwest are full of nice, heart-warming welcoming friendly folk and it's NOT TRUE! I've been all over the United States enough to know that. If you're an American man marrying a Filipina that's moving here...don't expect her to like small town midwest USA!

We want to not be treated like circus freaks walking around, or just a little respect. Doesn't everyone want that?

I know how you feel as long as your wife,as i experienced that annoying stare when were at south dakota to visiting my father n law..He is living in HURON which is not the big.So there is a time we went to the restaurant and when we look for a table,all people there at the restaurant stare at me like crazy and made me think if i did something wrong,or if i do look funny..hehehe but my father n law explain it to me as long as my hubby..most people there are white and few black and mexican.But when we went to mitchell another town of south dakota everything goes well no stares at all..

And where i'm at ..there are lots of filipinos.in ANCHORAGE,better ignore them!

Wow! You already have an interview for March 10th? They sure didn't give you much notice. I see your papers were received after ours, so maybe we will be seeing an interview letter soon. I hope they give us a couple of weeks to prepare as I will have to take time off work and get a substitute for my class as well as an interpreter for my husband. So you saw that the status online changed before you actually got the letter? Good luck with your interview.

I have a question regarding the marriage certificate.

We sent a photocopy of our marriage certificate with our AOS packet and I remember that the photocopy came out exactly like the original (minus the dry seal, of course).

Now, we're about to file our Report of Marriage to my home country's (Philippines) consulate general so it can be recorded with the National Civil Registry - this time, I used our all-in-one printer at home to make copies and it came out with "UNAUTHORIZED COPY - VOID" notes all over the page. Now I understand it's because of the security paper that the certified copy is printed on by the county clerk/recorder but I'm wondering why it didn't come up on the other machine? Has this happened to anyone before?

I am sorry if i always ask same advices from you folks,but im confused the first time and im more confused now.Now my mom n law go backc to church and also to the Civil registrar.Now church is looking for my:DIVORCE DECREE,BAPTISMAL CERTIFICATE w/C is not a problem.So now my mom n law went to the Civil registrar and told them the we don't need to have the LCM since we are already married here in the US.and now they don't need it anymore(which they don't need too) but they are asking for A COPY OF MARRIAGE CONTRACT SIGN BY PHILIPPINE AMBASSADOR?

And this thing made me confused..is anyone had experience this thing?

Regarding airline ticket name,,, You might want to call the airline and talk to a supervisor if needed... They can re-issue the ticket,, for a name change,,, as it needs to match the passport... I checked with the airline I use,, American, they said,, as long as it all American Airlines flights they can do it immediately, If it involves another airline as well,,, it will take a bit of time as they need to request the name change through the secondary airline,,, but, once that is complete. The ticket will be re-issued in the married name.

Yeah we're planning to do that but we purchase at expedia and its korean airlines..and i don't think they will.Wife's passport will expire on Nov.16 and we're planning to renew it to Phillipines using her last name still.And renew her passport back to her married name when she have greencard too.
