my husbands visa was "on hold" for about a month
they called him on a saturday and told him he had to be at the embassy in kingston the next monday to have his fingerprints retaken
after they re-took his fingerprints it took about a week for the visa to be delivered to MoBay

morning!
and now to add another story to the "fcuked up jamaican embassy chronicles"~
please remember:
1. that my SIL had EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE MENTIONED DOCUMENTS LISTED in this email in her possesion at the the interview
2. at the interview she was told she needed I-864 from the co-sponser
Good morning:Our records indicate that Jaheem was asked to submit documents from a joint sponsor. The joint sponsor packet should include the following documents:
· I-134 Affidavit of Support
· Copies of 2009 Federal income tax return and W-2 form
· Current employment letter or pay stubs
· Evidence of residency/citizenship status of sponsor
When you have the documents in your possession, you should call the Visa Information Service at (876) 621-0252, to schedule a blue sheet appointment.
To call the Visa Information Service, you must purchase a PIN (Personal Identification Number). The cost of the PIN is 13 USD. The PIN allows 8 minutes of talking time. The 8 minute period begins when the caller is connected to an operator.
There are two methods for purchasing this PIN:
- Credit Card Payment: The PIN is payable by an international Visa or MasterCard. You may purchase the PIN when you call the Visa Information Service number and select the credit card payment option. You will be prompted to enter your credit card number. The system will generate your PIN and give it to you. You will then be able to access the service immediately after you purchase the PIN.
- Cash Payment: You may purchase a PIN at any National Commercial Bank (NCB) branch. You will be able to call the service the next business day after you purchase the PIN.
We no longer schedule appointments via email.
have a grand day y'all

okay VISA related QUESTION~~~~
my sis-in-law went to NCB bank in Montego Bay to try to pay the $350(ish) for the actual visa
why the hell did they tell her they were no longer accepting payments?
she had the interview letter and jaheems passport and BC
i researched vj and the embassy website last night, and it seems to me that paying at NCB is still standard
any ideas?
she's going back today.... wish us luck
ps mawnin ladies!
-
oh that is so sweet...he will be here in no time. Are you going to go down and bring him back?
i think either we both will go down, or just D will go
depends on how much $$$$ we have
my mom is too excited! she has no grandchildren
and boy- is she READY! lmao
i think she was more heartbroken about the miscarriage than I was, not that she would ever say it
i know her heart was breaking for D and I, but i know she can't wait till jaheem gets here
-
Good luck, how old is he? I know he'll be just what the doctor ordered for you!
he turned 3 in december:star::star:
basically, he was my only friend when i was living in Jamaica winter of 08/09
we lived in a huuuge house with 4 other guys
so me and jaheem kicked it every day- all day
i talked to him last night and he asked if i was in "murrica?" and if i could send him a "patty and juice"
oh and a fire truck

I got some news myself. I am 2 months pregnant. I had my 1st sonogram yesterday and everything is well with baby. My due date is 1/1/11.
CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!
In AP for a month now
in Caribbean
Posted
my husband was in AP for a loooong time after his approval at the interview.
it was a long time ago, but i think it was at least 6 weeks.
i checked DHL every day and NOTHING....
The embassy called him on a Saturday afternoon and requested he come in on Monday to retake his fingerprints- he did, and the visa was issued days after.
DONT MAKE ANY PLANE TRAVEL TICKETS UNTIL THE VISA IS ON HAND
good luck
