  1. Hello Everybody.

I had gotten married back in my home country Pakistan in October of 2008. After all the immigration process, my wife arrived in the US in September 2009. During this period our marriage was going fine according to me at least and we had no issues. However, last month all of a sudden my wife all of a sudden left my house without any reason. I reported to the police, my wife missing and next day the cops came and told me she had accused me of assaulting her and battery charges. Which was complete false, as she had no evidence and no witnesses of that. We went to court and I took all my evidences and all she had was statements and of course, I was not guilty. Then she came next day and wanted to get her belongings from the house and cops asked for her GreenCard as well. I cooperated and gave it to her. Now, her Green Card is only valid for another 1, it expires September 2011. At the moment she is not living with me any more, and from my side the marriage was completely fine and faithful. But after this, I know she married me just for the Green Card. I have notified USCIS about this and also when she ran from my home, she also stole my mothers jewelry and ornaments. I have filed that report with the police as well and very shortly that case will open up as well. I want to know what is the process of her greencard being revoked or cancelled before next year because I have been totally disgraced badly and all her intention was to get the Green Card so she can go back and forth legally. I would appreciate if someone can help me, as I have not consulted a immigration lawyer yet. Thank you.

  2. Hi Everybody,

It has been 8 yrs since I sponsored my brother back home for his I-130. In these 8 yrs, 4 yrs ago I changed my address and notified immigration of my new address. Today I went online to check the status of my brothers case and it stated that they sent out a letter to my address on September 25, 2009 regarding further notice and need of documents for the case. But I never received any documents from them at all. I called up the toll free number and the address that they sent out the letter was my previous address and I changed my address 4 yrs ago and now I dont know what to do. Is there any expiration because the notice online says that until the required document is received this case is in suspension. I called the toll free number and they said this case has been denied since there was no action taken. I want to know if the letter was mailed out September 25th, and its only 3 months now can the case be denied in such a short notice even though it was not my fault since I changed the address. However, I know what has happened has happened. What is the best course of action now, will this have any effect on my brothers case being delayed further and how long will it take to bring it back on the right track. I appreciate your help.

  3. Hi Everyone,

My case was completed by grace of God and I have gotten a interview date fro my wife as well. I mailed in all the original documents to the NVC along with the DS-230 packet, and with the interview date appointment letter, it says all the documents that I mailed were accepted and my wife just needs to bring the Police Certificate to the interview. Even though I mailed in the original Police Certificate, based on other people's experiences on this forum I will just have my wife take a new police certificate to the interview regardless. So below are the things I will have my wife take to the interview, if someone can tell me if there is anything else I need to have her take I would certainly appreciate it.

    1. Copy of Birth Certificate

    2. Copy of Marriage Certificate (Nikahnama- URDU & ENGLISH version)

    3. Original Police Certificate

    4. Her original Passport

    5. Pictures of our wedding and other photos

    6. Interview appointment letter

    7. 2 passport size photos

    8. Copy of Biographic Data Page on Passport

Also if someone can tell me what are the usual questions that they usually ask. I would certainly appreciate it. Good Luck to everyone for their cases.

  4. Hello All,

I am right now setting up my wifes DS-230 packet, since today i have received all of the supporting documents that are needed to go along with this packet from her. However, I have a concern regarding her Police Report. It says police report of MISS.... and her full name. Does this need to be MRS.. since she is married or its ok to be MISS on the police report since this is telling her report based on her past. And second since I had sent in the I-864 AOS packet 3 weeks ago and I was waiting for her DS-230 documents to be made. I got an e-mail from NVC 2 days ago which is a checklist of missing documents and in it it has the first page stating they have received the AOS documents, and 2nd page is a Barcoded sheet but it has no number below the BARCODE, however our case number is on the bottom left corner. And 3rd page is saying that they are missing the DS-230 packet obviously since I have not sent it in yet. But now I am sending it in tommorrow morning but I just want to make sure out of these 3 pages of e-mail checklist which one do I sent in with the DS-230 packet and do I put something on the barcode sheet or leave it as is and send it with the packet. If someone can answer this by tonight so I can send this packet out tommorrow morning. Thank you and good luck to all.

    Regards

  5. We sent in all CERTIFIED copies, and an original police certificate (RCMP gave me 2, so I kept one). You get all these things back, but they specifically ask for a certified birth certificate, so we did the same for the marriage cert.

    Good luck!

Thanks for your reply, so your saying that I should send in the certified copies of the marriage certificate, birth certificate and a original police report by mail to the NVC. And when my wife goes to the interview she should take all the originals of these documents to present if they asked for. On the other hand if I do decide to send in all original documents because on the NVC guidelines it says you can send in the ORIGINAL/CERTIFIED COPY, then can i have my wife take the certified copies to the interview. The reason I am asking is because one of my friends husband went for an interview and he was denied visa the same day because they said he did not provide them with a original birth certificate during the interview. Thank you for your advise. Good Luck.

  6. Hello everyone,

I am reading all these forums and seeing that all Pakistan's are being put on AP unfortunately. However, is it both for male and female or just for males. Because my wife who is the beneficiary is in Pakistan right now and we are about to send in our DS-230 packet and then she will get her interview date. so should we also be worried about this AP processing. I mean usually what is the reason for being placed on AP processing..... Thank you.

Regards and my prayers go out to all wives/husbands who are away from there loved ones and hope they unite together very soon inshAllah.

  7. I am a bit confused, and I did figure this issue out recently but someone I met few days ago has told me something that I am confused. I am about to send in my wife's DS-230 packet this week. I got all my wifes original documents that need to be sent in, the original MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE, BIRTH CERTIFICATE, POLICE REPORT, COPY OF THE BIOGRAPHIC DATA PAGE IN HER PASSPORT ALONG WITH 2 PASSPORT SIZE PHOTOS. What I was planning on doing was having my wife make copies of all these original documents to keep for her records and mail in the original ones to NVC. So she can take the copies to the interview incase they need to verify or match information. However, someone has been telling me that you should mail in the copies to NVC and have her keep the originals to present on the day of the interview. Now my concern is if I do send in the copies of her original, should I have them notarized and then send them in, cause I know I did read in the guidelines that I can send in certified copies if I want. By notarizing them here locally in the USA will they become certified or there is something else that needs to be done. Appreciate your comments and remarks. Thanks.

Regards and good luck to all.....

  8. Hi Everyone,

Today I unfortunately have been laid off from my job. Earlier this week I had sent in my wifes I-864 AOS packet with all the employment verification letters and paystubs. Today I am laid off from my job and by next week I had planned to send my wifes DS-230 packet and now I dont know what to do. Should I tell NVC that I have been laid off or I should wait till I get a new job and then send in a new employment verification letter. Or I should send in the DS-230 packet and then when I get a new job I will send the employment verification letter to my wife so she can show at the embassy during her interview of my new job. If someone can tell me the best course of action because I just dont want this to effect my wife's case or a delay in the case. Thank you.

Sorry to hear about ur job loss.If u have already sent most cuurent 2008 IRS transcript along with last 2 or three, and it passed poverty line, they will not ask anything(most likely) about financials.but as April 2009 has passed they will definetly ask tax return of 2008 @ the time of interview ,if not already submitted and current employment letter too.U can add co-sponsor,then u will need his tax returns and employment letter.it will not be a problem then .I m sponsoring my mom cuz I m the petitioner,I m a housewife,I m not working, my husband is the co-sponsor,and we totally sponsoring my mom on co-sponsors income, and NVC has accepted our Affadavit of Support with out any problem, when I sent the I-846 ,2008 tax return was not available, but I got it and my mom will take it @ the time of interviewI,cuz NVC told me to do so.In my opinion U should not give any adverse information voluntarily,to NVC or Embassy until they ask U.Good luck

So lets say if I want to add a co-sponsor, do I send in that new I-864 packet right now or with the DS-230, or I should send it to my wife who can show it to them at the time of the interview. I will only add a co-sponsor if I dont find a job until my wifes interview date. However, lets say I find a job before I even get my wife's DS-230 packet ready, should I send in my new employment verification letter with the DS-230 packet or I should send it to my wife who can show it to them at her interview. Or I should not do anything until they ask for a co-sponsor or new letter of employment.

  9. I am so sorry to hear about this :(

Can you line up someone as a co-sponsor? If so, do it --- this way you wouldn't have to wait.

Well yea I live with my father and he can co-sponsor me but since I did not even send in the DS-230 packet yet, I have time. Lets say if I get a new job what would be the best course of action and if I want to add a co-sponsor what would be the best way from here.

  11. I am about to send in my DS-230 packet for my wife. But I am seeing they require a original or certified copy of her birth certificate to be sent along with DS-230 form. I just realized that I had sent in her original birth certificate along with the I-130 application. I am so concerned right now, because even though if I can have a new certified copy of her birth certificate made and I can send that with the DS-230 form. If when she goes to her interview, I found out they will ask her for her original birth certificate. What can I do then, anybody had any similar experiences. Please respond asap. Thank you.

  12. Hi Everyone,

I have some questions that I need to get answers to before I can send my I-864 AOS packet. My AOS 70.00 bill fee has been processed and paid and last night I have paid my IV Bill fee of 400.00 online which is in process. Today I am organizing my AOS packet which I want to send out. Below are some questions I need answers that would certainly help me out.

    1. It says on the James SHORTCUTS checklist that with the AOS packet attach the I-864 BARCODED COVER SHEET, is this the same DOCUMENT COVERSHEET that I received once my 70.00 AOS bill fee was processed and paid.

    2. Now I know once my 400.00 dollar IV bill fee is processed and paid I am expected to receive another document coversheet do I have to wait for my IV bill fee document cover sheet to attach it to this I-864 packet.

    3. It says that submit your pay stubs from the most recent 6 months, and/or a letter from your employer. I am attaching only 2 paystubs because I just recently got a new job and have been there only 2 months so I only got 2 paytubs, however I also did get a letter from employment verification as well, Do I still need to attach 6 months of paystubs???.

    4. The other concern that I have is when I first filed the I-130 application which was back in December of 2008, I worked for a different employer than and I put down their information on the I-130 packet, but I recently changed my employer and by submitting my new employers paystubs to the I-864packer, will that make a difference at all???.

    5. My wife who is the beneficiary back overseas, can she fill out the DS-230 packet now or I have to wait till NVC receives my I-864 packet. Also since I am her choice of agent now, can I print out the DS-230 form and mail it to her and she can fill it out and mail it back to me or she has to fill it out herself and mail direct to NVC.

    6. And say she mails the DS-230 form back to me, that means all the supporting documents such as Police report, birth certificate etc will be sent to me and then I will send all those documents to NVC myself.

I would appreciate if someone can answer these questions because I am eager to send my I-864 out in a day or two, and until I dont have answers to these questions I wont be comfortable at all. Thank you very much and I pray everyone meets their loved ones soon.

    Regards.

  13. Hi Everyone,

Last night my AOS Bill Fee (70.00) status was changed from PROCESSING TO PAID. So it has gone through. I also had my wife who is the beneficiary e-mail the CHOICE OF AGENT REQUEST FORM making me the COA. However, she hasnt heard anything yet from NVC of the COA being accepted. I called NVC and they said they have also mailed her the DS-3032 form and I mailed her the DS-3032 form as well so she can fill out which everone she gets first and mails it back to them. I believe I have been hearing that I should have my wife mail that form too as e-mail is 50/50 since they get hundreds everyday. So what is my next step now, do I go on with the instructions on the RECEIPTS PAGE or I have to wait till I get confirmation that the DS-3032 has been accepted via e-mail or mail whichever NVC receives and responds to.

And second since NVC already mailed me and my wife the BARCODED printed with our case number on the DS-3032, do I still need to print out a BARCODED sheet regardles.. Thank you

  14. My wife has e-mailed DS-3032 last Friday. Today, I received a case number along with the DS-3032 form and I called NVC and they said they also sent a copy of the DS-3032 form to my wife back home as well. However, if my wife sent in the e-mail authorizing me to be her choice of agent, does she still needs to sign the mailed DS-3032 form and sent it to NVC or once they accepted her request by e-mail, we can get rid of DS-3032. And can I still pay the 70 dollar fee for AOS online right away or I have to wait till NVC approves my wifes e-mail request. Thank you.

  15. Hello All,

My wifes case has been approved and has been forwarded to NVC. This past week we were also assigned a NVC case number. However, I am concerned about one thing. Our original marriage certificate ( Nikahnama) is what they call it back home in Pakistan has an error on it. On the day of the Wedding my wifes birthdate was printed incorrectly. The year was off by 1 digit. The original marriage certificate is in our native language. However, it was corrected by crossing out the incorrect year and rewriting the correct year. However, the english version of the marriage certificate has the correct information and is also notarized by the local authorities there back home. My concern is when my wife goes for her interview at the embassy, I hope she does not face any conflicts or any delay in getting her visa just because the original marriage certificate has crossed out markings on it and the english version of the marriage certificate has no error on it. Plz if anyone has had any similar problems in the past, since my wifes case is still in the process I would like fix this mistake before facing any future problems. Thank you.

  16. Hi All,

I am still confused. I got my NOA2(APPROVAL) 2 weeks ago. This past Monday, I called NVC at the 634 automated number and my case was assigned a case number. Now, what is the next step. Do I wait for a letter from NVC (I AM THE PETITIONER, US CITIZEN ) for the next step or I have been hearing about this form DS-3032. Do they send it to me and my wife back overseas or. I can call NVC and speak to somebody there and have them e-mail me the DS-3032 form so I can send to my wife, or can they directly e-mail the form to my wife. Basically, what I want is to be the CHOICE OF AGENT for all of the payments and fees and have all that mailed to me here in the USA rather than overseas.

I did see the DS-3032 form online and have printed it out, but can I mail or e-mail my wife back home myself or have someone from NVC e-mail or mail it to her. And what is the BAR CODE area on DS-3032. Can someone explain me that I would certainly appreciate it. Thank you.

  17. Hello Everybody,

I just received my NOA2(APPROVAL) notice 2 weeks ago. Today I called the NVC number and I have also gotten my spouse's case number as well, now they say on the automated machine to allow 6-8 weeks for NVC to contact your beneficiary via mail about the NVC number and process. However, I have been hearing on this thread that I can make the process faster by e-mailing or speaking to one of the reps of NVC to request the DS-3032 form via e-mail and send it back to them completed via e-mail as well. Is that really beneficial???. I am a US Citizen and live in the USA so do I fill one out and email back to NVC or I will have to have my wife fill one out and have her e-mail back to NVC. I am in the NVC process now and I know its a critical phase so I would appreciate some guidance for sure.

The other question I have is I live with my parents and I have no other dependents here in the USA. My annual salary is 35k, is it reaosonable for my dad cosign with me to fill out the I-864 AFFADAVIT OF SUPPORT FORM since his salary is much higher than mines or is it ok I can fill it out individually.

And now that my case has been approved, what should I expect to happen in the next few weeks. Do I get some mail or my wife overseas will have to get her documents ready. Thank you.

Good Luck to everybody and I wish everyone comes together with their loved ones soon. Cheers....

  18. I am a bit confused, many people on the forum are filing I-130 & and then right away I-129 as well. I have been hearing that makes the process a little faster. However, I am a US Citizen and I will be filing my I-130 for my wife next week, and I have been told by people that its better to file I-130 only as the case approvals of I-130 and I-129 are very close to each other. Can someone give me an example, if I file just my I-130 next week around what would be the approximate time next year when her case would be ready for approval and her interview date, and of course all the required documents will be made and ready to send as they are needed. I would appreciate if someone can tell me the approximate average time frames for both I-130 & 1-129 filed and if only I-130 filed. My wife is in Pakistan and thats where the wedding took place as well. But I am from the USA and the forms will be sent to Vermont Service Center. Thank you, and good luck to everyone....

  19. Hi Friends,

I recently just got back from Pakistan this past weekend. I married my fiance there. I am a US Citizen and now I am about to file my I-130 for her however, I want my wife with me here in the USA as soon as possible as everyone does here on this forum. I am confused that should I file only the I-130 for her or the K-3 visa as well which is a faster process according to my research. I would like to know if I file my I-130 PETITION for my wife this coming November 2008 how long will it take based on everyones experience here before she can get her interview date in Pakistan. If someone can tell me the processing times for Pakistan for both K-3 and I-130 PETITIONS, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much.
