  3. hi all,

i have a question that has nothing to do with immigration ,well i'm tryin to print some chats from yahoo archive and all what the stupid thing prints is the first page and no matter how many times i enter a different page number it always print the first page and nothing but the first page

is there any other way to print the chats from yahoo archive ????

( i posted this question in the "off topic" section and got some answers which i appreciated but i just wonder if i can find more answers here)

i dont want to copy and paste in a note pad or something and start printing and waste my ink then figure out there was an easy way to do it directly from yahoo archive

  4. Click on the message on Archive-->Look top left-->there is a save option-->press that. The whole chat will save as notepad, then you can edit and take the print out. None of the emoticons will save though.

will that satisfy the people at the embassy??i mean would they accept it ?

am thinking to open the archive and make it fit the whole screen then take a screen shot then print some parts of the chat ...what do u think

and thank u alot for the help

We edited parts which we didn't want anyone to see. We submitted chats and emails with our initial filing at USCIS. At consulate, CO didn't ask for any chats, I had them as backup but she never asked for those.

Just make sure whenever you are printing out, printout with the timestamps on the chat, that should be good enough.

i gonna just pick some parts of the chats to print ,and ur right there is a big chance they won't even ask for it but after all that effort i think i gonna stick it in their face whether they gonna ask for it or not lol

  6. you could just copy it and paste it into a word document

that would be purrfect if i was printing em for myself but i'm actually printing them for the embassy interview and u know i can edit to it if i just copy and paste it in note pad or something so printing directly from yahoo archive would be more like trust able for them....

damn i love that pic baiden made me laugh lol

  9. Translation Documents required

    Hi all .

I was goin to do k3 and ma i-129f is in the embassy now but I change my mind I'm goin to do cr-1 bcoz ma i-130 is in NVC now and we paid pos already but I'm really confused now bcoz all this time I was reading about k3 and I know nothing about cr-1 . anyways I just wants to know how and where can I translate my documents and certify it in Egypt specially police certificates and military record . and I wanna know if Egypt is Standard or Appointment Post ? and I wanna know if I suppose to send those translated documents to NVC or should I keep it till the day of the interview ?

P.s : we r goin to pay iv bill and send i-864 AOS tomorrow isA

So please I wanna know whts next ?

Forgive ma stupid questions I'm very new on this CR-1

u will need to translate ur police certificate at the ministry of justice then get it authenticated by the ministry of foreign affairs.

its ok to send a copy of ur military certificate .

    good luck

  10. Look ...

i was in last year when i did my visa paper and moved here and iam still student so if you need anyhelp let me know ;)

    Good Luck

    Ahmed

thank you very much u been so helpful i also thank all members who tried to help me.

    nice people

  11. I knew a couple that was in the exact same situation. Met them at the Embassy in Cairo. He was a student. Never served in the Military. Was quite young, 25 I think. They filed DCF. He was actually approved and his date to arrive in the US was set.

But somehow, someone realized he hadn't served his time in the military. So, he was not allowed to come. He was still in the military last I heard and she told me she would have to start all over again when he got out. I haven't heard from them in quite awhile but imagine they're in the middle of the immigration process again by now.

I wish I had gotten more details about who stopped him from coming; the embassy, the airport, egyptian gov. or by what means he was actually approved for the Visa in the first place.

i assume if he got approved and got plane tickets means he had the visa according to what u said then its not the embassy stopped him.

i would say they caught him at the airport but if he was still studying it wouldn't be an issue to leave .i think he was in the last year of college "graduation year" or he already graduated.

  12. Better yet, go in person to the Passport and Immigration Office in either Cairo or Alexandria depending on where you live!!

Good luck. They will explain your options.

the only reason i would go there for to ask them to consider me an immigrant in their "records" i know most of people do that but i'm not interested and i dont give much attention to this "stone age gov" .

as i said i know students immigrated on k3 visa

and my question was what do i need to get in order to prove i'm temporary postponed from the military ??

i think thats all what the us embassy needs.

sorry jeanne i think i frustrated u already

I am not an expert but I think that you probably have to go to the military office and get an exemption stamp in your passport.

wouldn't it be lovely if they gonna give me that cute stamp of exemption in my passport so easily

Yes, with a bit of money or contacts...you never know what could happen!

u r damn right ..i bet u have lived in Egypt for a while

  13. Not trying to scare you or anything but my husband once told me that some of the men that are temporarily exempt and come back for visits can be picked up to serve in the military at that time and it does not matter if they are married to a foreign wife or not. He said it's better to wait until you are permanently exempted to travel if you want to go home and visit again.

That is true. If you leave and are only temp exempt then you can not travel back till you are a US citizen.

thats right i know that

thats what i was trying to explain cause its not an issue untill i come back

but not gonna be a problem with the US embassy

  16. I think he calls her his wife so they're already married and a K1 wouldn't apply. right?

snowbee I'd say you have a 50% chance of being taken in the egyptian military after you complete your education if it is before the age of 30.

Don't know thats why I asked. :P Not sure what he's applying for....

i know u guys trying to help and i appreciate the effort u makin to answer

i know they might take me after my graduation but now i'm temporary postponed so it wouldn't be a problem cause i know egyptians who are students already immigrated on k3 visa

and of course the egyptian embassy in US gonna tell u its not allowed to immigrate while studying and i know that very well.

but that doesnt mean the US embassy not gonna issue me the visa

hope any Egyptian students who have experiences are around and willing to help

    thank u a bunch

  17. I was referring to the embassy and when you try to leave @ the airport from Egypt. They most definitely can read and do check.

sorry i thought u were talkin about the military people.

i dont think u care to hear the explanation but i will try to be short

the embassy doesnt really care what my military status is..they just need to see the military certificate because simply if i'm wanted by the army i can't get this certificate but they will continue the paper work as long as i can get it.

at the airport they dont care either what type of visa u traveling on as long as its valid and not fake lol all what u need to get is permission from the department of recruitment i guess ,not a big deal though. (correct me if i'm wrong )

    on last thing please,

u said earlier "you can not apply for an immigrant visa (k3, CR1, etc)....the k1 is a non-immigrant visa so you can apply for it. This was explained to us" ....may i ask who exactly explained that to you?

    thank you .

Nawal is correct. Don't mess with the embassy.

not gonna mess with them ,they better dont mess with me

Oh they will mess with you, be sure of that!!! Why don't you just wait until you KNOW what your status will be. It will make it much easier on you and less stressful.

i know that would be easier but gonna take forever and a day to graduate. i wanna be with my wife already .

  19. If you are postponed from the military...you need the letter stating that. You get it from them (Military)...however, if you are postponed, they say you can not apply for immigration to another country at this time. In other words, you can not apply for an immigrant visa (k3, CR1, etc)....the k1 is a non-immigrant visa so you can apply for it. This was explained to us however, I could be wrong...(if anyone else knows...correct me if I stated it wrong).

I'm not sure what you are applying for K1/K3, etc. So I can't tell you when/whom you submit the letter to. We attached ours with the packet sent to the Embassy prior to our interview.

i don't think they care about what type of visa i'm applying for ...i bet they dont know the differences  they barely can read ....

i'm postponed from the military temporary cause i'm student but i need to know what do i need to get to prove that

    thank u

  20. well those poeple are bunch of jerks ... just rules and papers lead them ... so i think they will ask for militay and also for police record ...birth certificate ..( police record and military papers u will translate them in approved office u can check it on embassy website there there r many office for that ... birth certificate u will translate it at ministry of health near from magles el sha3b ) wish u good luck buddy .

    simsim r u student ?

anyway i think i will end up going to the department of recruitment.

    thanks alot

  21. hi all ,

i already posted this question in US embassy section but didn't get specific answer so please keep it in MENA ,i think more people here went through issues like that with close minded 3rd world governments .please excuse me i sound little pissed thats because men here can't actually do anything before they join the army thank god they let us go to the restroom with out a permission

i need help from people who went through paper work with US embassy in Cairo specially students

what do i need to get to explain my military status to the embassy (i have nothing right now because i'm still student and my college automatically delay it until i graduate )...... do i need to go to the department of recruitment and ask them or what ...i'm confused i also heard its not necessary as long as i'm student

wouldn't it be much easier if the Egyptian army gave us the choice to join or not :ranting: human rights my foot

hope i dont get arrested for posting this

anyway any help will be appreciated and thank u in advance
