  1. I got the Interview letter yesterday! The interview date is Jan 13th.

I was surprized because I haven't received my bio appointment letter yet, and it's been 3 weeks since my EAD was approved but still card has not come to me. But whatever, I'm glad with this progress.

Well..... I got good news in the mail today.

My Biometrics appointment letter came...FINALLY. After almost 3 months since I sent the application, it's here. Mind you, it's only for the I-485 and not for the EAD but I'll bring it up on the appointment day itself.

    I'm scheduled for January 6, 2009.

I'm happy that it arrived. I was almost at the point of believing that they lost my application. It just took sooo long that I'm not excited anymore, just relieved.

Now to bug them about my EAD which would be 90 days on Jan 2.

Congratulations! I'm really glad you got an appointment. I hope your case would be processed soon!

  2. hi guys. I sent my I-485, I-765 and I-130 Last oct 3, and believe or not but i have not received the biometrics appointment letter yet. I got the I-765 and I-130 approved. I call the uscis and they said that they probably have used the fingerprints and photos taken at the airport when I got to the usa. Before that happened I called the uscis like 5 times to see whats going on with the biometrics appointment but they wont give me a clear answer... (everything is ok, you have to wait, blah blah blah...) so today I got an email form the california service center saying that they can´t process my case until the have the biometrics... so guys, what shloul I do? keep calling the uscis or something? Thank you for your Advice

Hi mdc, why don't you schedule an infopass appointment and request them to issue the bio appt? Other people have done that successfully. Explain your situation and that you already have EAD approved and they should be able to help :)

that sounds good. I´ll do that. thank you!!

    Hi mdc,

This is exactly the same case in mine. I sent my packege on Sept 27 and my EAD and AP were approved on Dec 5, but still I haven't received my bio appointment letter yet. I wondered why they approved my EAD without figer prints, but after your story it's starting to make sense...

I'm not sure if it would be a great idea for you to go to the Infopass appointment at this point, because when I went to my Infopass appt last month, the officer wouldn't listen to me after she had noticed my NOA date was October. She just told me to come back on January, 90days after NOA date, she didn't give me any infomation. That was so disappointing and waste of time.

I understand it totally depends on the person and now you have your EAD approved, so you may get the right person and a good result. If you take an Infopass appointment, I wish you good luck!

    AOMARY,

Congrats, and to answer your question, I have seen cases where they do your biometrics along with your actual interview, so maybe your interview might be even sooner, than for the rest of us who have allready completed biometrics and have received AP and EAD....

I really hope so...I'm still nervous about this part, but I hope it's going to be all right!

  5. Everyone, guess what?

I got a email from CRIS and my EAD and AP were approved!! I can't believe it!!

The approval date is yesterday (Dec 5). I didn't check email last night because I was very tired, but I wake up this moring very early and I couldn't sleep back, so I checked email and found those two mail!!!

But I still have a question. What happend to my bilmetrice? I haven't recieved my biometrics letter yet. I hope the approval notice says something about it.

  7. im waiting for aomary to post how the infopass appointment went (we are sharing the same problem where we still dont have our biometrics letter). :D

    Hi mellowgeorge, mamada,

I just came back from the local office. Unfortunately, I have to say it didn't work...

The officer wasn't nice at all. She took one look at the date on my NOA (it says October, you konw) and said "Why are you here? It's to early to come here. You must wait for 90 days. Come back on January." Then she wouldn't listen to me. I tried to ask her to at least tell me if they have sent a letter to me, but she didn't say anything but I was too early to come. I was so disappointed that she didn't give me the slightest infomation. That was a waste of time...

So I don't really recommend you the infopass appointment to ask about biometrics letter at this point, especially if you are far from your local office and it takes long time to drive there. I couldn't get anything more than the infomation that you got from Customer Service Center. I might have hit a particularly bad officer, I understand it totally depends on the person, but it is not worth the risk.

Now all I can do is to wait... I am so sorry to say this...

:crying: So sorry to hear that "aomary", but dont be troubled, things will be ok real soon. You just have to get to the right person. Thats what i have learned from my husband. I remember when we went to SSS to change my name on it from my maiden name to married name. 2times they rejected us becuase they said its not possible not until i have my greencard since i am out of status plus its week before i94 expires. But i remember correctly the guy who accept my application week after i arrived here in the US said that once we get married i could change it anytime. I was so disappointed but my husband said that we just have to get to the "right" person and sometimes it takes time to find the one that really wanna serve. Lo and behold the third time my husband called ssa first again and told our situation and she said come back to the office and look for me. And yes for just 10mins were done and week after i got the ssn under my married name.

Some people just find comfort in saying "No" , "We cant do that" becuase it makes their work easier. But there are still those few who are willing to serve and will always take extra effort to satisfy their customers. You just have to be patient to find them because they are very "RARE"!

God bless you and know that we are with you in this journey!

Thank you j.kevs, I'm really touched by your story. That's right, it takes time to get to the right person, and I just didn't see him/her yesterday.

Now I feel better, because my husband said I did the best I could so far. And of course, I understand I'm not only one who's waiting good news.

Hi aomary, sorry to hear that and sorry for me and mellowgeorge too.. and thank you for informing us, i was really waiting for you and hoping a positive outcome but i was not.. is really frustrating  now what we can do is to wait and wait and wait... but still hoping that they will send our biometrics soon... Thanks a lot for the info.. God bless

    Hi mamada,

I'm sorry I couldn't brought you a positive result... I wish it could have helped.

Yes, I'm also hoping the letter will come to us soon. I remember someone posted we can call Customer Service if EAD has been pending longer than 75 days since we filed, so I'm going to call them after December 15th, my Day 75. Have a nice holiday!

That is so frustrating, aomary. I hate it when people (especially immigration officers!) let the power of their positions get to their heads. She could have at least been nice to you and offered you an explanation for why you're still waiting on biometrics...

sorry abt what happened to u aomary..

this is what im thinking too..

like some of these officers act like they're holding your life..

i mean.. is it so hard to do their job or be nice atleast???

    EmilyandEric, lucie&damon, envy_me,

Thank you everyone... I was really disappointed at her way to treat me.

Before I talked to her, I was a little bit sorry for the officers because there were so many people in waiting line. It must be very tough to deal with all those people whole day. But it IS their job!! What made her so rude?

Now I am trying to think about Thanksgiving Holiday. I should enjoy it! I hope my letter will come after holidays...

  11. @aomary and @mamada: so I called USCIS customer service and I got elevated to their higher customer support people. They were able to tell me that:

    1) even though I can't pull up the case status for my I-485 online, they said that it was filed. Does this make sense? How come there are two different databases?

    2) They told me that no biometrics letter has been issued and I should wait 2-4 weeks.

The first level of customer support also mentioned that if it wasnt 60 days since the receipt of my application, then she couldn't really do anything to push my biometrics letter out. 60 days is coming up soon (Dec 2).

So aside from the 2 pieces of information above, will an infopass appt give me any more information? can they do something more than what the (really helpful) customer support people can?

i just called called USCIS few mins ago and again and again and againnnnnnnnnnnnnn they cannot give info about my biometrics! (#######!) how can they not give info, are they not high tech? cannot access database???? i asked who can i call to ask about that and he said no one, sh$t! goodness why they cant make their system better like by just typing the receipt number u can see all the informations on one case............... should i just wait and wait or make an infopass and go to local office just to ask (for a 2hr drive) about biometricssssssssssssssss..............

I appreciate your efforts!! OK, it's my turn. you can wait and see how my infopass visit works.

It will have been 8 weeks (56 days) on the appointment day since my NOA date, so I'm curius how they are gonna deal with my case.

If I get any helpful infomation or more (that I hope) from infopass appointmen, you can make a decision.

  12. @mamada and @aomary: though i would prefer it to be good news, I feel a little bit better knowing that I'm not alone waiting for my biometrics letter. I'll try to set up an infopass appointment as early as possible.

edit: Ok, I'm currently looking at the options on the infopass site. I selected 'service on a case that has already been filed' then these 4 options came up:

Order from Immigration Court - If you were directed to us for processing based on an order from the Immigration Judge. You must bring all documents required in the post order instructions given to you by the court.

Case Processing Appointment - If you received a notice to go to your local office for further case processing.

EAD inquiry appointment - If your I-765 employment authorization application has been pending for more than 90 days.

Case Services follow-up appointment - If it has been over 45 days since you contacted NCSC and have not received a response to your inquiry. You must bring the Service Request ID Number related to your inquiry to the appointment.

Which one would be right for my case? (no biometrics letter after 6 weeks)

    Hi mellowgeorge,

Did you make an infopass appointment? I did... my appointment is next Monday morning. I don't know if it would work, but anyway, I wanna do something. I'll let you know how it turn out.

No I havent made an appointment yet. Which option did you choose when you signed up online!? I'm stuck at that step.

I didn't go that page. On the next page after entering zip code, I selected "You need information or other services", not "You need Service on a case that has already been filed", because those four choices don't match my needs. You don't have to select any when you go "You need information or other services". Good luck!

  14. it's nice to hear that things are starting to happen with the September filers.

I, on the other hand, am still waiting for my biometrics appointment letter :( My NOAs say a receipt date of Oct. 2.

Any words of wisdom for me?

----keep pn praying and hoping, just like me... i dunno why they dont send our biometrics? hmmmmm

Your timelines are very similar to mine. They got my AOS on Oct. 2, and I haven't recieved biometrics appointment letter yet. What happned on Oct. 2? I was going to wait for at least 2 month, but this is starting to worry me. I wonder if I should do something..
