    I HAD A CR1 INTERVIEW NOT K3!!!!!

  2. Hi guys just thought i would update you all as i had my interview yesterday morning and wasapproved pending my medical results, as i only had the medical on tues 11th, interview 14th. Very happy i can relax now and just plan my journey to my hubby!!!!!!! yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

i will now go and put my experience on the embassy review page

  3. you can have the medical on the same day. the only difference will be that at your interview you will be approved pending them recieving the medical results as it takes about 4 days for them to send the results to the embassy. so just a few more days delay. Well that is how it is for CR-1 visas but i presume it will be the same for K1 too

  4. Just thought i would add my experience of the medical i had today.

Had appointment at Bentinck mansions. Fairly easy to find from Bond Street station. Had to ask someone but he guided me in right direction which was easier!

I found the receptionist to be very rude the way she spoke to me, maybe she was having a bad day lol although there were a couple of them that spoke quite rudely.

Well anyway got took into one room with a man for the chest xray, he pulled a curtain between us and told me to undress from waist up and put a gown on. Took the xray and then told me to go wait in another waiting room (still in the gown)

got called in my a lady doctor (thank God!!) no conversaton watsoever, quite uncomfortable! but here is wat she did....

height and weight check, stand behind a line and read out the 2nd line of eye chart (with my contacts in!) then lie on the bed. flashed light in eyes, looked in throat for split second, felt around my neck, then listen to heart and breathing in and out, then a breast check prodding around, split second feel of stomach, peek in underwear (just to make it even more uncomfortable!!) blood pressure, took a sample of blood.

I asked at the end so does eevrything look ok - since she did everything in silence and did nt say if anything was ok - she said depending on your xray and blood results it looks ok.

I had to get 3 vaccines, HPV (i am 26 and still have to have) and 2 more - which the nice nurse suggested i could get at my GP for free as they are childhood vaccines, then fax them confirmation from my GP and shouldnt take too much longer. Called my doc and have an appointment there tomorrow, MMR and diptheria, tetanuc poli whatever its called.....great......but at least i dont have to pay.

All in all i cant believe they get paid so much for doing very little!!! was very fob off-ish not a real medical, just really to say they have done it.

  5. I havent finished my long process yet (CR-1 interview in 6 days) but i just wanted to express how good i think Visajourney is, i have found out so much useful information here that i would not of found any where else. It also makes you feel a little better knowing there are plenty of others going through the same situation as you!!

Whoever came up with this idea is great

p.s i have changed my timeline to CR-1 not sure why is still says k3 on the side!!

  7. Hello, I live in good old O H I O! What part of Ohio will you be coming to and maybe I can try and help you?

Hi well i am going to be living in Akron, Ohio. I think Cleveland there are a few halal restaurants and stores but i doubt very much any in akron!!!

    Where abouts do you live??

    :-)

  8. after reading many of these posts i was quite saddened. I realise that your other half is a muslim and maybe you are not, or you are new to islam and it may be difficult for you to understand or adjust to the halal meat topic. But in islam this is extremely important and if you love your other half surely you would care enough, not just be like "oh im sure he may change his mind when he sees meat at the supermarket is cheaper" or "he can find his own way to avoid the non-halal meat".

What a shame. Im sure if it was something really important in your life, you would want your spouse to be understanding, change things to make it easier for you and not expect you to go against your religion.

  10. This may sound like a silly question but something i worry about!! Im live in UK where there are loooaddds of Halal meat stores and restaurants and i have no idea what its like in America!! I mean i know there are many muslims there so there must be (I AM GOING TO LIVE IN OHIO) but i worry that people dont take it so seriously there, i dont think my family in the US do, they just eat anywhere. But it is very important to me to only eat HALAL meat. (meaning that when the animal has been killed, it is done in a halal way, slitting the throat to ensure the least suffering, and saying BISMILLAH when killing) This is the only meat we are allowed to eat, not just meat from any where.

Are there many halal butchers and restaurants over there?

    Anyone from OHIO?

    Thanks guys

  11. i was having a look at flights today and the one i really would like to go on is with British Airways but the only thing is there is only a 1 hour and 55 minute stop over in Chicago til the next flight to Cleveland. Im worrying that that may not be enough time if i have to have an interview and all that.

Any one have any experience on whether its a long process or if its just a quick in and out!!?

    Thanks for any advice.

The only other alternative is stopping over for 8 hours waiting in Chicago. That is just too long!

  12. HI everyone, just to update i also have my interview for CR-1 visa in London in AUGUST - the 14th. Its coming up sooooon. Cannot actually bleieve after waiting a year the date is in 11 days!!!

I was emailed my notification of interview on 9th July. I was actually expecting a sept interview, so was very pleased!

  13. Can anyone please tell me if I am right or wrong regarding the vaccination requirements for a K3 visa.

As far as I am aware for the K3 visa you just need to have the medical done without vaccinations, and when you adjust your status in the U.S you will then need the required vaccines. I have read this on numerous web sites including Dept of State web site. The medical examination form for people having medical in London also states it is not required for K3 visa, only when you adjust status in U.S.

The reason why I am asking is because I did not get married in UK I am having to have my medical and interview in Jerusalem. The doctor seems to think (and is basically saying I HAVE to) have the vaccines now or they will refuse my K3 visa. The 2 vaccines they want me to have is Varicella and HPV. Whilst you may think why not just get them done now, I would rather not put things into my body if unnecessary now. Also the cost is very high and if I don’t need them I don’t want them. When I adjust my status I may be over the age limit for HPV anyway but I am not now.

Very hard to get in touch with Jerusalem embassy but I have emailed them and will be waiting for a reply (if I get one) for about a week but I wanted to know what you guys think?

Also they say Varicella is Chicken pox is that correct? I have told them I had chicken pox when I was little but they seem to think I have to have the injection for that now too.

I know CR1 is better overall but for my situation K3 would be ok so im not asking for peoples opinions on that!!

    Thanks 

  14. Hi can anyone give me some advice…

First of all I am going the k3 route until I find out when the interview will be. I have a few reasons for this and for my individual case it is appropriate. Although hubby has paid AOS fee for i-130 so that it is still processing in case we need it. All depends on when I get an interview date for K3.

Anyway my question is, which I have posted a few days ago is that hubby made a mistake and wrote the date of our marriage party instead of the actual day marriage contract was written on the g325, i129f and i130 forms. Yes I am mad lol. Well anyway im thinking before I send in the necessary documents to the embassy for the K3 after receiving packet 3, do you think I should also send in corrected forms (ie. G325, i-129f and i130) that my husband had signed? I do not want to have to wait longer and have them request these from me. Do you think I should send them in with packet 3, or just wait and see if they say anything????

    Help greatly appreciated.

  15. Hi everyone, im wondering if i do chose the k3 is there anything else i would need than what is below?? My hubby who is the USC would have to send me some documents so i do not want him to miss something out and then have to resend. What do they usually request for packet 3 from the embassy?? From my husband does he just need to send me letter from employment, pay stubs. AOS form, and tax returns? Anything else i would need off him?? Also are photocopies fine for the tax returns, pay stubs and employment letter??? he needs to keep them with him in case we do cr-1.

i copied the below from another post, is this correct all i need??

    thanks everyone

Two copies of form DS-156, Nonimmigrant Visa Application

One DS-156K, Nonimmigrant Fiancé(e) Visa Application form

Police certificates from all places lived in since the age of 16

    Birth certificates

    Marriage certificate for spouse

Death and divorce certificates from any previous spouses

    Medical examination (except vaccinations)

A passport valid for travel to the United States and with a validity date at least six months beyond the applicant's intended period of stay in the United States (unless country-specific agreements provide exemptions).

Two nonimmigrant visa photos, two inches/50 X 50 mm square, showing full face, against a light background)

Proof of financial support (Form I-134 Affidavit of Support may be requested.)

Payment of fees, as explained below

The consular officer may ask for additional information. It is a good idea to bring marriage photographs and other proof that the marriage is genuine.

Documents in foreign languages should be translated. Take clear, legible photocopies of civil documents, such as birth and marriage certificates, to the visa interview. Original documents can then be returned to you.

  16. Hi everyone, i have pretty much decided to go with the CR1 route, so what do i do with the k3 application, they have just sent my husband a letter saying it has been forwarded to the consulate where we got married. we have a case number for k3 but still nothing for i-130 at NVC. On the NOA2 it had the date as april 16th.....its been a while im getting abit worried why they havent assigned a case number yet, i spoke to a person at NVC on tues who said still havent recieved.

So with the k3 do i just let it continue or do i need to contact some body. The interview for k3 would be different country than interview for i-130 as we married abroad. i am actually in the country we married right now but decided may be better just do CR1 as everyone seems to say so!

  17. hi everyone, i know this might sound silly but i got hubby to email me all forms he sent first in, u know the G325a for us both and the i-130 form. Turns out hubby made a mistake on date of marriage ( we had seperate dates for the actual day the marriage contract was written and the day we had a wedding party)...so basically he didnt put the one that says on the marriage contract - dont ask me why!!!!!!!!

but anyway now ive filled out the DS230 ready to send to him but of course i have put the actual date of marriage 8th july 2008 - which is on the english translation of contract (we married abroad).... he put 10th on the other forms. Is this likely to cause a problem and should my hubby call them to let them know of the mistake...if so who should he call NVC or USCIS.

    Help is much appreciated

    Thanks!

  18. Im wondering if i can just use the downloadable form DS-230 and get it ready and send to hubby now with all the other docs i need to send to him...or do i have to wait for them to send it me through the post...i.e is there something on the form why i would need the actual one they send me or is the downloadable one fine to use??? i am in the middle of getting everything ready to post out to him in a day or 2 so really need to know.

    thanks

  19. Hello I just wanted to share that yesterday my hubby recieved approval notices for BOTH the i-130 and the i-129f!!!!!!!!!!! It has been a long wait.........................................................!!!!!!!!!!!!!

my husband called them nearly 2 weeks ago asking why it hasnt been looked into yet which the guy at CSC then said we are going through security checks. My hubby asked for a service request, he never recieved anything until the approval notices yesterday!!!!!!!! I was very worried thinking we would be stuck in security checks for a long time!

Just for everyones else information we never had a touch on the online system - i just checked now and it still says september 4 2008. it also says pending when i put my application number in. We have not recieved any emails saying the approval notice was sent......so it was a very nice surprise!!!!

For all the people who have been waiting longer than me....i am sorry and i do hope you are also approved soon. It is horrible not knowing when it is going to come and you feel so helpless.

Well now on to deciding which way to go....i know everyone says no point in doing k3, but when i look at the i-130 shortcuts it seems so confusing! so many different things to do and im worried my husband is too busy working every day to get each bit done!!! The thing is as me and hubby married in another country not the UK my interview will be in that country and for the i-130 it will be in London. Its not too much of a problem to travel to the other country as i have family there and can stay with them, it seems k3 is simpler.but i realise it is more expensive and have to wait for green card.so we may just go ahead and do i-130

I am going to do some research now but any advice would be great. Would you say it approx takes 4 months from now?? or any ideas??

    Good luck everyone!!

  20. Hi everyone, this is a question for people who have been through "background checks" at USCIS

Basically been waiting over 7 months, hubby called the other day the guy at CSC said file has been opened but doing background checks and cannot do anything until they have been completed. He said something about 60 days then hubby called again and he said 90 days. He did not tell us how long the checks have been going on for....to be honest he could of been making it up by the sound of his voice!! (i was on 3 way call and hubby said it sounded like the same person both times)

but yeah im wondering for people who have been waiting over 6 months and have been told they are in background/security checks (before they get approved) how was it for you and how long did it take?

I know no one knows how long it will take but just want to hear how long it was for some other people. Also could it be checks on both me and the USC or just me? Im hoping it wont take long......we are good people!!!
