  1. Our thoughts and prayers are with you

Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow,

may looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow

May your heart and soul find peace and comfort.

May the blessings of love be upon you,

May its peace abide with you,

May its essence illuminate your heart,

    Now and forever more

  2. Well as Muslims, which I'm assuming you are, we're not allowed to date. I talked to my husband for a few months and then he came to the US and we did our ketbit keetab only 5 days after he got here. We married legally later. My point is that you can explain that Muslims don't really date, and that getting married shortly after meeting in person is perfectly acceptable. How many cultures in the world even arrange marriages where you don't meet the person until after you're married??? I don't think USCIS will give you a problem. However, I would recommend that you at least spend a long first time trip together to know each other better. You learn so many things when you spend time together in person. My husband and I talk on the phone every single day, but during my last visit with him, which we spent almost 1 month together, I learned more about him than during the entire year that passed over the phone.

Let me clarify that. They will give you a problem if you marry quickly, but you have to provide a good reason to them. Also, you have to submit alot of proofs and such after you're married so they see that now you are married, and your marriage is real. If you just show up with nothing to show, then prepare for a denial! They deny somep people that do have evidence, let alone someone that comes and says, "We just got married, after meeting, alone, no party, family, or friends." I think that the advice people gave here is actually good advice and very honest and true. Immigration officers have all the power to deny you for any reason whatsoever. They were just advising you so you would be more cautious.

    salam narina,

thank you for taking the time to write, we do appreciate your support and we really appreciating all the advice people gave us here.

i just want to clarify something and that is despite the fact that the dating thing does not exist in the islamic culture but we think still the co will not care about it.

they have just set it as a red flag and therefore if we can just avoid it we will do.

we don't want to find ourselves in whatsoever trouble . dunno if we seem to care too much , but no matter what happen we will stick to eachother cause we are meant to be together for eternity.

    peace to all

  3. Olivia, I thank you for the comment you posted today. I want to take back what I said yesterday in regards to your situation. It was cruel! To be clear, I planned to marry and stay in Morocco for several months before heading back home. We are not in a rush to do anything. He felt that getting on this site will help us to know the procedures and the options at hand with the process. Did I make friends here? haahaa

Many opinions were shared, and you know what, I thank every one of you for taking the time to post your comments and experiences. I do see that we were recommended to different sites that were extremely helpful and personal experiences as well. I will take what I need and leave the rest... Ok, have a fabulous week everyone.

  4. if you are considering t-shirts, jeans, Tupac, and MBC2 or even a coca cola to be a culture then i am impressed .

i 've lived abroad for some time and was surronded with american people. i talked to them and know about their behaviour they are just humain beings nothing weird about them.

All culture that Americans have is derived one way or another from european culture. Except of course if you take into account the culture of the native Americans, i.e. indians. But i'm quite sure that's not what you yankees are after. Sure, you guys have developed some properties over time that may look like some sort of culture, when hamburgers or food are taken into account ;-P

You have decently managed to completely #### over the lovely British language you inhereted. That's raping culture not cultivating it ;)

Further something that is truely all American is hiphop or rapmusic and the gang-related scene alongside, unique in the world, since music really is a part of a nations culture. The positiver aspect of course is jazz music, even though that is a mixture of African and European styles. Still just history, not culture, perhaps it wil be in due time.lol

    gimme a break sereia

i am sorry if i said something that might caused restlsness or burdom , i didn't mean to

just in case you forgot i was just defending myself

  5. WE ARE ALWAYS DISCUSSING THINGS VERY OPENLY? I HAVE EVEN SHARED WITH HER SOME INTIMATE SECRETS THAT EVEN MY FAMILY DOESN'T KNOW ABOUT THEM. THERE WILL BE NO CALTURAL SHOCK AT LEAST NOT TO THE POINT YOU ARE MENTIONING. SHE IS NOT A CONVERT , SHE WAS BORN A MUSLIM AND SHE DESPITE THE FACT OF NEVER BEEN IN MOROCCO BEFORE , SHE IS FAMILIAR WITH THE CULTURAL AS SHE WAS ALWAYS SURROUNDED BY PEOPLE BELONGING TO THIS CULTURAL , SHE KNOWS ABOUT THE FOOD , THE CUSTOMS ,PEOPLE'S BEHAVIOURS ....ETC

SO I THINK WE HAVE NOTHING WEIRD IN MOROCCO BOTH SIDSES HAVE THEIR ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES.

SHE IS NOT STUPID , ON THE CONTRARLY SHE IS A VERY SMART PERSON , SHE KNOWS HER RIGHTS OF COURSE, WE HAVE DISCUSSED MANY TIMES THE MOROCCAN MARRIAGE CODE BY THE WAY HERE IS A LINK OF IT http://hrea.org/moudawana.html.

I LAUGHED WHEN YOU MENTIONED THE PRESENCE OF AN ATTOURNEY DURING THE MARRIAGE CONTRACT , COME ON WE ARE NOT ESTABLISHING A BUSINESS HERE PLUS WE ARE BOTH MUSLIMS AND WE ARE DOING IT THE ISLAMIC WAY , BOTH OF US KNOW THEIR RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS .

I HAVE NEVER PUSHED HER TO MAKE ANY DECISION ANYTIME WHEN THERE IS A PROBLEM WE ARE JUST THERE FOR TO SUPPORT EACHOTHER , NO ONE PUSHES EACHOTHER OR TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE OTHER AS WE DO JUST MAKE A BALANCE FOR EACHOTHER.

  6. No "we" didn't make it clear. Only one posted their opinion on the ligitimacy of our relationship. The rest were very supportive. Opinions from people is not based on our relationships and if it seems believable. You went waaaaaaaaaaaay on left field, lets try to stay center. An advice on the right paper process was the discussion not personal counseling for rejects who were obviously hurt in the past!!

  7. This is a reply to Olivia and anyone else who frowns upon this relationship. It is true that we have been communicating for over a year without physically meeting. What is also true is that our bond has developed from friendship to LOVE. We have grown to learn of each others cultures, strengths, insecurities, faith, values, morals. We learned of each others family members and spoke extensively to them, knowing each member by name and characteristics. We share similar backgrounds. We both come from a very large family. We are both students who share the same ambitions for a successful future. Is it truly possible that we have found LOVE. YES, absolutely! Is it true that people can know each other all thier lives and marriage lasts 5 months? YES, absolutely! Is it true that people can meet for LESS than a year and marry for over 5 years? YES, absolutely! My question was not pertaining to my life but rather a way for two lovers to finally share the LOVE they have for one another. For anyone who can advice us without being critical or judgemental, I look forward to your reply. Thanks in advance.

  8. Dear mena members,

    salam alaykum everbody

i was surfing the mena forum to get well acqainted about how the whole process goes when i came across some people giving some kind of warning about the fact of getting married during the first trip.

well , as i stated in my previous post my woman and i know eachother for a year or so and we are intending to get married in december inshAllah .

we really don't think we are rushing it and further more she will not be filing the papers right away after she gets back to the states as she will still need to establish residency and get all financial stuff done.

is this really frowned upon by the consulate?

we will be very grateful if you could give us some clarifications regarding this tipoic.

    salam to all.

  9. salam alikum everybody,

we are a moroccan american couple who felt in love with eachother , we met online one year ago and been talking

since then,we developped strong feelings for eachother and we truly believe we do match perfectly together,

we are around the same age, we are both muslims and we do share the same outlook on life.

we can see that there are many moroccan american couples on here and we would like to get a little advice on what is best to allow us to be together. Is it easier to file for a K1 visa or Marry in morocco and then file for a K3 visa...?

we would apprecate any advice you have...

Thank You and Allah be with you
