Yeah I guess they do look at such cases in a bit detail.Inspite of all the modernization pak has got now ,biracial relationships r still not that common.I suggest u prepare a list of questions n keep an answer in mind.They might interview u shortly too alonith ur hubby. But dont worry as u have a genuine relation,had visited him often,just make sure u have enough proof .As u have mentioned u will be going for his interview,i think that is a big plus too.My hubby and many other members just had like a 3 min interview and were not asked for any docs probably bcoz their spouse's were there.I think AP for all applicants has considerably approved so just keep praying n hope for the best.

u mean after the interview but before visa issuance.Yes u can email and embassy does have specific hours telephone inquires.Check embassy's website for more details.

If ur in AP,u can also call Dept of state in US...1-202-663-1225 press 1 and then 0

Personaly I dont belive/saw Law only for Pakistani, but all they doing is screening to make sure they are going to permit a right person. This their Job and we should respect. ... As i said before, I saw they stoping people from all over the world for checking/investigation.

to JFK,NY......I dont know where is ur office,so indirectly i dont know gulf's office.LOL ......but in my opinion Gulf sucks big time.I flew gulf once just to get a friday departure so i can arrive early for my sister's wedding,cuz of delay i missed my connection n spent 24 hrs at the worst airport ever Charles de Gaulle Paris in the cold where no one speaks a world of english,it was an alien world.I ended up arriving pak two days late n i got my luggage 3 days later at her wedding day n my whole trip was screwed.Probably he will be flying PIA,Qatar,emirates or etihad depending on the transit time between flights n ticket price.PIA doesnt fly from islamabad anymore so he has to go thru Karachi or Lahore he checked PIA and its about 65k oneway ,i m not sure if thats a gud price...

Lonely heart:They didnt keep his passport at interview which was June 24th.They called for his passprt on 6th Aug and it was submitted morning of 7th Aug.Got the passport back today...so i would say abt 2 weeks to get the passport back....

They told me that there had been 'some action' about 3 months before it finished.. in that case they had asked the embassy for additional documents on my fiance (officially an 'update' to the case). But our case was longer than usual. I hope yours is much faster, inshallah!

Hubby got a call today around 1:30pm(PST) from Amex to pick up his passport,he was in islamabad n was leaving for Karachi tomorrow so it was just perfect timing.He picked up his passport around 3:30(PST).Visa was issued on August 3rd as the first lady from DOS told me yesterday so apparently they issue visas even before requesting passport which is great.I dnt know y the operator i got later yesterday told me its pending processing apparently she want me to just hangup as i called at 4:58pm so she just wanted to go home..... Visa expires Feb 10th,2010.

Waiting for approval:We will still talk as he gets mad jealous if i talk to my friends n i luv making him jealous but what abt when ur hubby gets here

I called today and the lady said visa was issued on Aug 3rd but they requested his passport on the 6th.

I had a question, did anyone have to make an appointment to have a medical exam done at the medical center in Islamabad or you just walked in on any working day?

Well they call it an appiontment but actually it is like a walk-in.I called myself from here to get the appointment for my hubby like around june 1st,the lady was like when is his interview,I told her june 24th,She goes ok "app 17th ki morning ko aa jaiy " as the results only takes two days.I asked her can he come early she said yes.She didnt even get his name or any thing so I figured its a walkin and my hubby had his medical done on the 9th.

i met someone in emirates office we went there to book a flight for my cousin and we met a person who was recently approve and he told me that his ap was for only 17 days but his visa printing process took more then a month.

I guess its true...... I didnt hear back yet to collect the passport.Members here said it takes 2-3 weeks.Probably visa printing process is taking a bit longer now as they are clearing more cases from AP,which is even better.So as long as I know,its coming,I dont mind waiting.My hubby has already put his resignation but he still has to work till the 31st so no rush anyways.

Has anyone on VJ been naturalized in court? My wife is naturalizing at the Denver District Court because of a name change. I'm curious how the experience compares to the typical Oath ceremony.

Is the dress code any stricter if you naturalize in a court ceremony?

Yes i have been in NY south district court.You just have to go thru additional security check and no cell phones,no camera inside the court.

The oath letter talks abt professional attire even if the oath is not in court but at my oath there were a handful of people in jeans ,shorts and sneakers.
