I tell people to just roll the bones and don't mess with a visa extension.
If you overstay they will usually overlook it at the airport when you leave.
Yeah that used to be the case up until a year ago , but it has gotten a lot more expensive and immigration is imposing some hefty fines even going 1 day over.
I know a couple of guys that missed their flights because of overstaying 3-4 days. Immigration purposely delayed them and fined them heavily. On the other side i've also heard of people having no problem at all with overstaying a few days.
I guess your right though....... it's a roll of the dice

Try Continental Airlines also .... i've flown them a few times and can be very competitive ...go direct to their site.
also use this site( www.sidestep.com) to do a search of multiple airlines....it's usually my starting point and guideline

OK, here's the receipt for my wife's one way ticket from MNL to LAX paid for in cash. As I said $600. Watch out for unscrupulous travel agents on VJ posting stories about greatly inflated $2400 one way tickets (unless your flying first class!). This was purchased through a walk in travel agency in the Philippines and not through PAL. The agent told her she could have had a cheaper ticket on a different day, but we wanted to meet in LAX on that Friday.
