mga sis, saan ba ako pwede maka avail ng discount, first time immigrant discount from PAL. I'm from davao city, sa manila saan ba address ng travel agency offered that discount? thanks sa reply God bless to all
Consider checking hawaiian airlines also kay barato ra ila ticket.Taga Davao sab ko sa may Matina Crossing.Have a safe trip and welcome to USA
Yep, Hawaiian is very cheap. I'm flying from Manila to Honolulu (POE) and connecting to LAX. My flight was $645. It would have been $620, but my fiance had to go to the airport to pay cash for the ticket because Hawaiian requires the passenger's name to be on the credit card used for purchasing the ticket on line
So, he booked the ticket over the phone and then went to the airport the next day and paid cash. They have a manila office. I'm glad to do POE in Honolulu so I don't have to deal with Immigration at LAX

When I was at my POE, the lady officer stamp my I-94 with june 20, 2008 although my expiration of my K1 Visa states Sept. She told me to get married before June else I will have to go back to my home country. She stated that it is based on the K1 Visa application which is actually feb, 2008. So that might be right, you should get married before the date stamped on your I-94.
No, the expiration of the Visa is the amount of time you have to get to the USA. Then, after getting there, you have 90 days to get married. The June date was your 90 day date and the September date was the last date you could go to USA.

Cherel and I supplied 2 from each month but even that seemed like overkill to the folks at the embassy.

i brought chat logs showing i talked to fiance every day since last march. i also brought 2-3 chat dialogs per month, new letters of intent, some print screen fotos and some emails. prescreener just asked for a few emails.
-
just bring what you have. i carefully chronicled chat logs, chat dialogs, emails, western union receipts, current letters of intent. the prescreener said "just give me some emails" LOL...after all our efforts to build evidence of bona fide relationship!
) you'll be fine with the chats - even if they are in Swaheelee!!!

Hi Fellow July Filers! Had my interview last week and VISA IS IN MY HANDS! Thanks fellow VJrs!

Hi again. When I go to PAL to buy my ticket, they say I need visa in hand. If my fiance wants to buy the ticket online, can he do it? We are thinking of getting the PAL flight to Honolulu and then the Hawaiian Airlines flight to LAX.
Any thoughts on whether we can buy the ticket online? Has anyone else done this? Thanks!
Hello, my fiance got my ticket online through Northwest Direct Ticketing and he was not asks for my visa when he purchased it online. Visa packet and passport is needed in the airport and in your POE. Good luck and all the best. God bless!
Thanks everyone. These responses were very helpful!

Thank you Jesus and you help us that our lord God hear our prayer.
CONGRATS! I am waiting for Air 21 to deliver mine too...I can't even track it yet
But, may I offer some advice? You might want to take down the pic of your visa with the passport number, etc. Identity theft and all....just a thought!

do we all know what is going on with our cases, or are we all in the dark?
We have a good idea. If I had to choose one reason, I'd bet we are flagged because of my job.
OK, I'll bite...what's your job?
Sorry to hear that there are Julyl filers still waiting on NOA2

THANKS EVERYONE!! Now just the CFO and my flight!

I remeber seeing a link to a long list of questions they ask during the interview at Manila. Does anyone know where this link is? Thanks!

I am going to schedule my interview in February. Anyone else going soon? What date?
-
Thank you ALL for the replies. This really helps!
Good luck to all of us!

Visa delivery questions: I read on this site that after your interview you can ask to pick up the Visa instead of having it delivered. Is that true? If so, can you get it right away or do you have to go back to USEM to get it??
When I pay Air21 for delivery, will they give me my tracking number at the USEM? I am worried that USEM is going to send my visa to my fiance in the USA like they my interview letter!!
Thanks!

The credit card/passport issue for e-tickets seems only to apply to Philippine Airlines, from what has been said here.
These faq's are for Philippine Airlines only! You can check with your carrier for their policies, which are different.
--Bullwinkle
It also applies to Hawaiian Air - and even worse...Hawaiian requires that the name on the credit card match the name of one of the passengers!! So, we are going to just pay cash for PAL...no credit card issue. Also, when buying from PAL you get the local discount...I can buy the ticket here for $300 less than my fiance can buy it online

I like many others used VJ was my guide and did it myself.
Between research, preparation, and working on everything with my fiance I spent about 40 ~ 60 hours on mine. (Yes I went overboard:) The money was an issue for me because preparing the I-129 is just step 2 or 3 in a 2 year process with all kind of expences along the way. I just concidered the work as my new part time job
I also think it makes a statement to your fiance and others about the commitment to your new life. Last but not least there is no way anyone else would have put in the time and attention to detail as I was willing to do.
My I-129f cover letter included a 10 section table of contents with the Proof of Relationship area broken down into 8 subsections. I arranged the baggies holding the checks and photos to open out to the examiner when the page was lifted...
Yes, I went overboard. No I am not on medication.
EIGHT SUBSECTIONS for proof of relationship?? Nah, you didn't go overboard
We sent just the letter saying we intend to marry. For proof of meeting my fiance wrote two sentences on form and attached his board passes. But it all depends on comfort level and whether you're worried about not getting NOA2. My fiance has very high comfort level! I was worried, he wasn't!
Does it make sense to have a medical exam early?

One potential problem with doing medical too early...They will take u the first day. But for second day of vaccines, they may tell you to come back after higher priority people with interviews sooner than yours. This happened to me. I pleaded and they said no, come back when we have time for you. But, I just showed up the next day and they took me
Just be sure you don't fall for this.
