  1. Hi all,

Has anyone experienced having to repeat their Biometrics appointment after a long time and with no explanation why that would be necessary?!

My wife's application at TSC has a Feb. 2007 NOA1 date and we did her Biometrics in March 2007. Her USCIS profile shows a last updated date of March '07 reflecting that some activity happened on her file (however there is no mention that Biometrics was completed).

Last week I got a surprising letter from TSC which was a REPEAT appointment letter for Biometrics! This is almost 11 months since the original appointment! The letter is almost identical to the previous appointment letter with absolutely no mention why this needs to be repeated or if there were any problems with the previous one!

I called customer service and they provided no help, basically reading some standard texts to me and saying that you need to make the 3-hour drive to the USCIS center for your appointment regardless of what has happened to the previous one and there is no way to find out what's going on!

My initial guess was that they had mixed up my N-400 application (which I filed in December '07) and its fingerprinting session with I-751's Biometrics but I was told that is probably not the case by the customer rep!

Has anyone had to repeat their Biometrics and after this long?! I wonder how long this could add to the wait!

    Thanks in advance,

    Amir

  2. You may remember my earlier post about a service request I opened for my wife's application with a 2/13/07 NOA1 date, only to hear back 2 months after that my case was still within processing time (while it was showing April on the website) and that I will need to wait!!

Last week I got another letter from TSC with much worse news that further puzzles me what these guys are doing overthere!! It was a REPEAT appointment letter for Biometrics! Unbelievable!! She had done hers back on 3/15/2007 and the last updated date shows 3/16/2007 on her profile, so I thought it was done correctly! Now after almost 11 months from that date they are telling us to go for another Biometrics! The letter is almost identical to the previous appointment letter with absolutely no mention why this needs to be repeated or if there were any problems with the previous one!

I called customer service and they provided 0 help, basically reading some standard texts to me and saying that you need to make the 3-hour drive to the USCIS center for your appointment regardless of what has happened to the previous one and there is no way to find out what's going on!

  3. Hi all,

I am not an active member of this website, although I check the forums and benefit from your postings from time to time. Like you, I am waiting on my wife's 10-year GC to arrive in mail. I could not resist sharing a recent response I received from TSC in mail regarding a service request I filed because of my case being outside the normal processing time.

My dates are as follows: NOA: 2/13/2007, Biometrics: 3/16/2007, absolutely no action since then...

I got this reply about 6 weeks after I opened my service request by the way!

    Read and enjoy!

    "Date: Nov. 19, 2007

    Case type: I751

    Filing date: 2/13/2007

Type of service: Outside Normal Processing Times

The status of this request is:

Our review indicates that this case is actually within our current processing time. Your I-751 application is ready for review selection. We regret any misunderstanding. If you do not receive a decision or notice of other action within our current processing time, check our website for an update or call customer service at the number provided below."

Isn't that insane?! This is while their website gives a processing time of April!! Clearly that date is bogus and it's only there to save their face I guess! I honestly think they have a number of letter templates and they just pick one randomly without looking at the request, fill out the blanks and mail it. Interestingly they also wait until the 6 weeks wait time reaches its end so you don't send any more service requests in the mean time....
