  1. congratz to you!!

i just started preparing docs for aos.

just some questions i have , perhaps any of you whom have sent their aos could help me :

-do we have to do another medical exam in here..? as my wife had her med exam in her country for k-1 and the doc sent all the med papers directly to the embassy. she only be given a piece of card of vaccine done at that time which she brought here to usa.

-in affidavit of support, what supporting document i have to send along with it.? are they the same docs i sent to for the k-1 visa before?

-all the forms to submit, under "last name" part, should my wife using my last name now as we have already married?

-under "place of last entry.." my wife arrived first at LAX then connected to DFW as our home is in TX...which one should we put. (this confused me)

thank you..every reply and input is much appreciated.

    Hi everyone

Now back to say congratz to all who just got approved , got married and filing the aos/approved.

Everyone seem to move a long.

    Cheerzz~

    Hi there,

we seem to have the same date entering the US :) Good luck with everything!

Got the biometrics invitation today, yay! Finally!

  2. Just a quick update, though most of you probably see my facebook. Everything is well. Hopefully I'll be getting the keys to my new place soon, I'm really excited about that. I have also been seeing someone from work for about a month. It's a bit strange going from a long distance relationship, where you are used to being on your own a lot, to seeing someone nearly everyday but I'm slowly getting used to it. He knows all about what happened with Tom and the visa and he's ok about it.

I haven't spoken to Tom for a month or so but as far as I am aware he has settled in fine in Alabama, however talking to some friends he does seem to have cut himself off from all his friends in the UK.

Hope all of you are doing well.

very good to hear that you been seeing someone for a while now..congratulations!best of luck to you and the new chapter in life

  3. Sorry... I didn't notice you are from Indonesia....

Anyway... I am not sure in your consulate there...

But it seems okay here in our consulate because you have fill up everything... if you forgot something to fill-up... they will ask you to fill it up...

So... there should be no prob... :bonk:

Its ok 'adiiann" and thanks for your reply. I had also post this question on OctVSC forum and got the replies , one of them is from one fellow VJer who his fiancee made similar mistake like my fiancee did.

so now im relieved as she can re-do the form again.

    thanks everyone

regardless... if outside a regional forum, all postings are to be in English.

    thanks "payxibka"

  4. To the person with the DS-156 do the form again nothing bad will come of it.

Although DS-156 is filled out online, the results are not saved nor forwarded to any embassy. As you are aware, changing anything on the form also changes the barcode. Therefore, she needs to fill it out again with her birthdate. My fiancée made a similar mistake and had to go back and do it again. No problem.

Edit: We have mailed back Packet 3 just over a month ago and still no word from the embassy about an interview date. My fiancée is beginning to get a bit impatient and concerned. I am assuring her that all is fine and shall work out just fine.

Thanks so much "beans" and "ThaitoUSA". Yes I was a bit worried about this as the completed printed form shows a barcode I thought it went thru the embassy database once we clicked "continue". But now I feel better as reading your replies. Will tell her to re-do the form again.

US embassy in Indonesia require the packet 3 to be submitted in person or by post and there is a possibility for her to get the packet 4 and interview at the same day of submitting the packet 3.

Hope you hear the news from embassy very soon. Maybe try to get her email the embassy ask them whether or not they have recive the packet 3. Just to be clear.

Thanks everyone and wish everyone a speedy process and best of luck on every stage of this journey.

  5. Hi guys I need your help!

My fiancee just realized she forgot to fill in her DOB on DS156 Q.10

What should we do now.. as it is electronically filled, has it generated to Indonesia Embassy database already?

Can she just write her DOB on the printed form or should she do it all over again?

If she has to do all over again..will it mess the entire application form as the completed DS156 that printed out has it specific barcode already.

Please I need your input guys...thanks so much in advance!

  6. DS156 is electronically filled, my fiancee just had it printed out and later realized she FORGOT to fill her DOB on Question No.10

What should we do now? Can she just write her DOB with pen/ink or should she fill it the Form all over again? The completed DS156 already has the specific BARCODE.

If she do it all over again will it mess up the entire application forms?

Need your input guys . Thank you so much in advance.

  7. Hi everyone,

My Fiancee just got the medical exam done this week. Designated panel physician has informed her that the result is all good. What's next after medical? Would the embassy inform us that she pass the medical or we need to call the embassy to ask about it?

    Thanks everyone!

It is Embassy specific, but surely the embassy doesn't have access to the medical results. You will need to let them know that her medical is finished and most likely take the results to the interview.

Some hospitals have been known to send the results directly to the embassy, though they are most often carried by the beneficiary.

    Thanks everyone for your replies!

called the physician, they have sent the result directly to the embassy already. For now just preparing all docs to be brought to interview.hopefully by next week she gets the interview and visa!!

    thanks everyone..God bless us all.

I apologize for the misinformation. I had no idea some doctors send the results directly to the embassy.

Glad to see some movement still - I'm working on the papers for the AOS, it just doesn't seem like we have time! We are closing on our house in 2 weeks (and moving that following weekend), and we just got a puppy! She's a black and tan dachshund named Bella :)

It is ok DavChels! it is different in each countries. just glad we are moving, one step closer.best of luck on your AOS and moving.puppy is cute and having pet will be good idea to ease some boredom. God bless everyone! :)

  9. Want to extend my congratulations to Shanira, Chels, OmarG, et al.

Also wish to extend my support to all those still at some point in the process. We just sent Packet 3 in today and are hoping for an interview sometime in the next few weeks. I've been counting down the days till my fiancée's arrival and it's just under three months. Though still a significant amount of time, I tell her "I can do that standing on my head."

I am in shock we got our approval  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just when you think it's never coming .........I know it's easy for me to say now because we have finally been approved, however for those people still waiting it will come, I promise!!!! I have been just like you....totally depressed with it all......not looking at the timelines because it just feels like rubbing salt into a wound! Please, Please those who are in despair have faith in knowing it will get approved. Its been 6.5 months for me and Mike we had no email , no update on the USCIS website just a letter out of the blue!!! Today out of the blue....you can propbably tell I am still in shock!!! Thank you to all those that have been so supportive you dont know how much you have helped me!!!! Best wishes to all those still waiting M x

Congratz! :star: its good to see you finally got your NOA2!

  10. Unfortunately, I'm not up to this task anymore. Feel free to copy the petition draft that I started. I just am not really able to function at all at this point. Although you can no-longer count on me to write the petition, you can still count on my signature.

I flew to Ontario from Washington State after Chris' father called me to tell me that Chris had been hit by a car while crossing the street. When I arrived, I found Chris laying in a coma in a hospital bed in ICU with a black eye and brain damage so severe that his head was swelling. The hospital told us that he would not recover and it was only a matter of time. Later that night, his parents decided to cut his life support and he died within a few hours.

I hadn't seen Chris since November. He always said, "we'll see each other soon enough... why waste the money?"

I know this whole process of waiting sucks, but... be grateful that you have someone to wait for, because it could be gone just like that.

I'll be gone from VJ for a while, but... part of me wants to become some sort of immigration activist. So, we'll see.

Take care everyone, and best of luck to all of you on your visa journey!

I am very sorry to hear that. My deepest condolences to you and all the family. May God grant you the strength to go through this and bless you with all His love. May he rest in peace. My prayers are with you..God bless .

  11. Just giving you my fellow Oct filer an update. Our case has been sent to Embassy in Indonesia.

It was about more than three weeks after NOA2 and we heard nothing from NVC so I decided to call them and they told me it has ben sent and they gave me the new case number.

So for you guys who still waiting, hang in there I hope the good news is coming its way.

Happy Easter everyone God bless you all.

  12. Well our visa journey is over. Tom broke down at the weekend and said that he couldn't get married. He wasn't ready at all and that he still had unresolved issues to deal with which he doesn't want to put me through the misery of. He said the pressure of the wedding and visa process didn't help him either. To be honest I was doubting the whole marriage thing too. I am also posponing my trip until he gets settled and has a long hard think about what he wants. He's also having all sorts of problems with the delivery of his furniture and his pay.

I think we are just going to end up keeping the long distance going for a while, going backwards and forwards for trips. We'll end up getting married when we want to and not because we have to. It's a shame there is no other way. I am not keeping my life on hold though. I have done that for 2yrs, I have sacrificed relationships with friends and missed other opportunities. I'm going to get some independance by moving out of the family home and I'm also going to call up all the friends I haven't seen in months.

I probably won't be around much as reading this forum is painful and reminds me of what we could have had. I wish you all the best.

I am sorry to hear that Laura.Whatever the decision you both have made I wish you all the best and please never give up on your dream. May God bless you and Tom and He may lead the way you are two heading for.

  13. I thought this thread will be the right place for me to write and ask about NVC.

It has been 3 weeks since we received our NOA2, but I have not received any news or mail from NVC that saying they receive our petition.

Is this a normal time waiting for 3 weeks ? I saw other filers got their NVC letter within few days after NOA2 and their foreign fiance/e receive the Packet 3 not too long after being reviewed in NVC.

Appreciate your reply and answer . Thank you everyone!

The people whose NVC date is a few days after their NOA2, is because they called NVC. I'm not sure how long the letter takes..

So I need to call NVC to ask them if they receive it?Thank you..!

  14. I also have a question. I thought I would stick with this Oct VSC thread as everyone here are really helpful with answers. It says that we need to contact USCIS if there is a change of address. Is it apply only to Petitioner ? Or both Petitioner and Beneficiary? If my Fiancee has one different address she would like to use it to receive the Packet 3 from Embassy, instead of the address written on our petition, do we need to contact USCIS and tell them about this other address? Or is it the Embassy in her country that we must be in contact with for this matter?

FYI our case has been sent to NVC but we are not sure if it has reach Embassy or not.

    Thanks everyone for your help.

You are no longer dealing with USCIS so you should either go through NVC or the Embassy.

    I agree. Good Luck!

Still no NOA2. How long did it take you to get yours Laura? Called yesterday USCIS said wait at least 30 days.

    Thanks everyone for your answers.!
