  1. My wife and I dressed the way we would dress for a job interview. he only asked me for joint bank statement, marriage licence and our IDs (and passport for me). and that's it. (oh and tax return for this year).

he didn't ask for any other proof.

    Hello CONGRATS!

Just a quick question. Did he ask for both the Beneficary and Petitioner Tax Returns? or did you file jointly?

    we filed jointly.

and today i got my GREEN CARD in the mail. i'm really happy that everything went smooth. With the card, now, in my hand, i will probably see some of you in a year and couple months when it is time to remove those conditions.

  2. Guys, does the email below mean we got... approved? :o

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

    Current Status: Card production ordered.

On March 18, 2009, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

    Yup. Congrats

  3. Hi all, I posted this in the main GC section... Let me know what you think. Do I have enough documents?

I am mainly worried about the financial co-mingling. We just joined bank accounts this week only. Man, can they expect much more than that of a 3-month marriage?

    --

Guys, I am gathering documents to show bonafide relationship for our AOS interview next week.

My main question is: we have hundreds of emails and also online chats from when we were dating. I don't want to print it all ($$$)... HOW MANY emails should I print? A few samples for different time periods? HOW MANY? 10? 50? 100?

I also don't really want to print online chats... should I?

    Documents I am taking:

    - Joint 2008 tax return

    - Joint health insurance (from my hubby's work)

    - I just added him to my bank account so we won't have statements together, only a letter from the bank saying we have a joint account together. Is that too bad?

    - Pictures of our one year relationship (including a few with him meeting my parents and sibling who visited here, and only 2 of me with his parents, and also civil wedding pictures with one friend only)

    - Joint utility bills: electric, gas and cable bills for 1 or 2 months (got married about 3 months ago)

    - No joint lease (he moved in to my apartment)

    - No joint cellphone

    - I have a train ticket from when I visited him one weekend while he was in college...

Do you guys think this is enough evidence? Interview came too fast, we thought we would have more time to gather things.

i think you got more than enough. we gonna show up next week for our interview with way less than you:

    - pictures

    - joint bank account

    - joint lease

and that's it for us. no joint cellphones (was cheaper to keep our individuals), no joint bills (they are all on my name), no joint insurance (once again, cheaper to keep our own individuals)

oh and as far as your email, just get some from different months/years and you should be alright (i assume)

  4. if you think about going the employer route, you may think again. you are looking at a long time before they accept I-485 through employement. Have you ever heard of "retrogression"? if not look it it up, and it will answer your questions about why the USA is in retrogression and why you, most likely, looking at couple years before having a visa number (immigrant number) available and assigned to you if going the employer route. they do have a cap on the visa allowed per year.

they don't have a cap when going through marriage route....

hope that helps, but look up retrogression

  5. Well, I finally got some good news. I received my interview letter. It is schedule for March 11th at 1030am. I'm pretty excited. The USCIS website and case status system has been worthless to me. I had/have no updates whatsoever on the website.

anyways, i rather have no updates/touches and receive my interview letter than anything else. it seems that i won't get my work permit though.

    anyways,

c ya and good luck to you all

  6. damn, i had my biometrics more than a month ago and nothing is happenin. i can see my cases online but none happened since biometrics.

blarf, you are not alone! my hubby did his biometrics 3.5 weeks ago and nothing happening to the cases online either! so annoying!

It is frustrating, i mean i'm waiting for that darn EAD to work. i already have a position, i'm just waiting on the card (they ain't gonna hold that position for ever for me)
