Probably naive of me to ask (and probably I'll get pounced on for something I say as well...) but with all the ties skidoo (you) has (have) to France, couldn't you apply for a tourist visa--isn't there a 10 year entry multiple entry one? I know France is a visa waiver country, so does that mean you can't apply for a multiple entry one? What is the length of time one is allowed to remain in the US as a tourist?
People seem to be getting hung up on definitions which can be considered quite fluid (socially constructed). For example, "residence." With all the ties to France, perhaps he could still consider France his place of residence. Not everyone has one house, one employer, or fits some simple mold.

I am still waiting for approval. I got a RFE on April 10th and sent the information they requested next day air. That delayed my case by up to 60 days.
Did they actually say "60 days"? I thought the average RFE delay was 30. Sorry you have to wait.

Any other November filers on Igor's List who want to get in the race? Come on, you can't just let Jenn and Nick win without a fight....(something to do while waiting!)

Two suggestions:
1) Your ins. co. should have an appeal process--ask about it and appeal with documentation from your doc who recommended it
2) Contact the hospital/office where your wife had it done and explain that your ins. co. won't cover it and ask if they have any discounts for those w/o insurance coverage.

Alright folks, here is an update. I got a call back from the senator's office. They said that they spoke directly with the person who was handling my case at the VSC and that the person she spoke with said they were approving our case. I want to be optimistic, but the VSC told the person from the senator's office that it would take a couple of weeks for me to receive my NOA2 now, should it really take that long? I live in the same state as the service center, one would think it should only take a couple of days for me to get the letter, unless it is generated elsewhere (does anyone know?). There has also been no update to the status on the USCIS website (which I know may never change). So, I am optimistic, and hope that the letter will come soon. Let's see! I'll continue to keep you all posted!
Congratulations!!

Good luck, TRDUSA2001! Less than a week away! What is different between the fiance and spousal interviews? Is there any difference? You will also be interviewing in Guatemala, no? Does your spouse have to attend?
Best wishes for next Thursday! Are there any other Guatemala filers who would like me to add you as "pending" to the list?

Jenn and Nick--You're about at the same time from NOA1 that I was when approved. I believe you will hear soon, but I know it's frustrating to see Jan approvals...It did make me feel better to call in--I started calling in every 3 days. They would forward me to someone who could see the case online since I couldn't and neither could the first "phone answerer." I asked them to tell me if there was an RFE or if it had been approved yet, and they were able to say that it was still pending. Not much info, but at least I knew that I hadn't missed a letter in the mail.
juleali--What do they tell you when you call in? Hopefully at the 6 month mark, they will give you some better answers!
Good visa vibes are being sent both your ways...(in the meantime, check your horoscope on www.cainer.com...mine said "something you're waiting for is coming" or something similar the day before I was able to check online status which was the day before NOA2...just something to do to pass the time....)

I started a new thread for those going through the Embassy in Guatemala--send me your interview dates via the thread below and I'll put you on the "Guate's List!"

I think we're a very small group, but I'll start a thread and see if can serve as a good meeting place! My fiance and I are waiting for our interview date! When is yours? Maybe we can make an informal "Igor's List" (ok, not Igor's...) for Guatemala interviews!
-
I think you're good to go---just fyi, I don't think the embassy in Guatemala will let you enter with your cel phone. I think they have embassy employees who will tag it and hold it for you (so you don't need to pay someone outside to hold it). Have a great trip!
-
For address purposes, you can always get a PO Box--they only run a few bucks a month...
-
The last thing for me to get a clear answer on is what does the Hong Kong Consulate want; I-864 or I-134.
Have you posted this question under the correct Regional Discussion subforum? I think you'd have more chance at the correct answer there.

Why is ignoring me I need help for one year while the timeline VCS is posting below the poverty RFE and Igor touch what is unfair Packet 3 congrats?
