  1. it can take from 30-60 days

there is no minimum of 14 days

    Hey Sinergy

When you say it can take 30-60 days... it seems as though many people on this site get approved within days of the USCIS receiving the RFE info. Any insight as to why that is the case?

  2. For my fellow RFE recipients... when you got the physical letter from the USCIS, did anyone else receive this comment?

"From the date this office receives your resubmission, a minimum of 14 days will be required to process your form. If you have not heard from us within 60 days, you may contact the USCIS...."

Just wondering what the min of 14 days is all about, especially considering that many people talk about getting the app approved within a few days after submitting the info needed for the RFE.

For French citizens who had a previous marriage, even if the 129F instructions say to put an official paper showing that you are divorced, the birth certificate is not enough. You have to send the "judgment of divorce" in french and in english translated by an assigned translator.

On Dec 29, 08 I received the email notice for RFE, then on Jan 02, 08 I got the letter in the mail...it was simply for two questions in Part C, regarding IMBRA...I sent it right back on the same day....don't worry, your RFE will probably be for something you overlooked, not anything to worry about. And the good news is that an RFE means that they are working on your case and approval follows shorty after RFE.

  4. Well done everyone! congratulations!!!

I received a RFE, does anyone know if there is any way to find out what is needed rather than just by waiting for the post/mail? Its driving me nuts! There is no info as to what it is we need to send in the email :(

    Thanks for your help

    Hey TeeKol

I'm first time poster... I also got an RFE via email alert today. I have no idea what they would need! Just curious...did the RFE turn out to be something trivial? Also, how long did it take for you to receive the letter after you got the initial email? Hope everything works out on your end!

  5. Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum so forgive me if this question has already been addressed... our K-1 application is currently being processed (received NOA1 at end of July), and my fiance was looking to visit me in the states sometime in November (she has a tourist visa). Assuming our application is still being processed at that time, does it disrupt the K-1 process at all if she visits using her tourist visa? Appreciate any guidance!
