Hi everybody!

my husband requested for social secuirty card along with the visa application therefore we do not have to fill out any application. it been over a week since hes here. i know it generally takes 2-3 weeks but is there any way where we can find his ss# in any of the websites. on the handout it stated to go on ssa.gov but thats no help. i just want to know if we can find it any other way?

hey every1, u do need a bank statement just for the sponsor but u do not need it for a joint sponsor. in my case, i had submitted a bank statement but the embassy is asking one from the joint sponsor which doesnt make sense bc my joint sponsor had it as optional also he meets the 125%, which i didnt because i was a college student and worked only part time. anyhow guyz he went on thursday, and the people at the counter never asked for the bank statement where as he had it with him. i dont no guyz whats going on and then they told him to come on friday which he didnt go so hes planning to go on monday until he has all the full facts. its a waste for him to go to the embassy and come empty handed since they are unsure about what was going to be given on friday....

u should have 3 yrs of income tax 2 b in the safe side! good luck!

thanks all for ur tips and advise. i really appreciate it very much. i however did tell him to call nvc. again, lets see how things are tomorrow. im hoping to get good news tomorrow other wise action needs to be taken.

ACCORDING TO WHAT I KNOW, DELHI EMBASSY IS SO MUCH EASIER THAN MUMBAI ONE! I KNOW SO MANY THAT DEALT WITH DELHI EMBASSY AND IT WAS PIECE A CAKE! SO TO THOSE WHO HAVE AN INTERVIEW COMING UP, GOOD LUCK AND DONT B NERVOUS!

hey vj members! it's ridiculous that people at the counter do not know what they are talking about. remeber how i told u guyz about the whole deal about coming on thursday to pick up the checklist or get his passport back as well submitting the bank statement. well he went there and guess what, they didnt even ask him about the bank statement yet they told him to come "TOMORROW AGAIN!!!!!" they need to get their facts straight and just give him the visa- the main thing during his interview was to have the ORIGINAL COPY OF I-864 SIGNED because he had the COPY and THEN ONCE HE SUBMITS THAT HE WOULD GET HIS VISA. so why are they making him go back and fourth after he had submitted the i-864 AND why are they mentioning other documents when they are not even looking at it. ALSO, while he was there, they told him "we are not even SURE if u r going to receive it tomorrow " what do u mean u r not sure? most of all, they need to keep their words- (the sunday night posting).

i know it has nothing to do with educated or uneducated person but yeah if he was uneducated then we can see why they are making him go back and fourth and y they are taking advantage of him by taking money-(sunday posting since he was there monday) and stuff. u c wat i mean...

well anyhow he did not get his visa yet- hes still struggling! he really is upset, confused and most of all pissed off! i over here just wish i could be with him and try to get this whole mumble jumble done even though we cant do much bc its not in our hands- its in the office's ALSO i forgot to mention, he did ask for a number so he can call them and they didnt give it to him. NOW THATS PISSING ME OFF BC HE REALLY NEEDS TO TALK TO SUM1 WHO KNOWS EVERYTHING! MY GOD! really i am really annoyed over here bc for 1 little thing, they are making his case a hell! he cant even think straight hes really stressed out really and he does not sleep at all- always worried! WHAT TO DO GUYZ? PLEASE HELP!

call them now bc along with my w2 tax papers, i also send in revenue and it took 2 wks for me to receive it in mail so hurry! call irs now! asap!

oops my bad! for some reason i thought the case was approved and was going to the beneficiary. well u should get that within 2 weeks for it to be send home. i got mine within a week including weekends. best of luck all!

it takes like a month and half to receive ur packet 4 once u get approved well thats what happened to meour case was approved in dec and got packet four like the 3rd week of jan and got interview in feb!

Yes my husband took the whole entire file that he took to his interview. the file included everything that we dealt with from day 1 to the day of the immigration. yes it also included the joint sponsor's 3 paycheck's, employment letter, proof of us citizen as well as i864 and i864a etc... i think u got the point... u no that may b the case then if they are not familiar with the cr-1 case. i been wondering if the guy thought he had to submit the whole packet at nvc like we do as a first step when they prepare us for the interview bc my husband also got a receipt and paid money. thats y hes telling my husband to come around 5-6pm to get a checklist but wats odd is how they still took his passport. lets see what happens on thursday. well thanks again.

Hey how are u? thanks so much for ur reply but yes i am not hiding nothing. i did forget to add this that the other day when my husband went the other day, the confused guy told him that "ur case is different?" which also does not make sense bc i dont understand how our case was different. i am a us citizen and had a joint sponsor. like i said the day of his interview, i was in india with him and the lady who interviewed him said that as soon as u get the original copy of i-864, go to vfs to submit it and thats it. there was nothing more to it. when my husband said can u please write a note to nvc so they wont give him a problem, they said no we do not have the authority for that. like i said the guy at the window was really confused so maybe hes just screwing him up. thank you very much.

are you sure you are telling us everything we need to know to give you an informed opinion? The Mumbai consulate is known to be one of the friendlier consulates out there, so it's unlikely that they would give you a hard time w/o any obvious outstanding issues. Please be forthcoming and let us know the full details of your case in this thread (i.e. w/o posting another one asking for help about the same thing). The less emotional you are, the more rational you will become. It's just the way brain is designed.

hey every1! how is everybody on monday night? well im feeling stressed because my husband had an interview last month and had a copy of i-864 but did not have original bc nvc had it anyhow i dont know what happened to the copy that i send to nvc- the original one. i had to send him the original one for joint sponsor. now that he had submitted it this week, they are saying that they need more documents. i dont understand how the checklist in packet 4 has everything and so does nvc and why they are bringing out things that have already been over and done with. are they playing games. when my husband went to submit the i-864, he also had to pay fee- for what god knows? it just doesnt make sense? does it make it sense to u guyz? please let me no bc i think this just isnt right- no i am not worried about the money - its about what hes going through. they told him he has to come on thursday for either a checklist even though he submitted his passport. the guy at the counter was totally lost and confused - NO KNOWLEDGE so im thinking will everything b al right on thursday???????????????????????? PLEASE HELP! IM REALLY CONCERNED!

that is just ridiculous. send bank statement, but why is VFS dictating anything? they do not have any authority. E-mail the Mumbai consulate and get the facts straight and show the e-mail copy to VFS once the issue is clarified. They cannot override what the consulate says. Has husband been given the new interview date? If not, e-mail Mumbai consulate and ask for one.

also, just want to add in the list that we got from nvc and vfsm they had simply said they had received everything and just to bring things such as pics, passport and all that. there was no where indicated that i-864 was missing or wasnt original and all that.

my husband doesnt feel comfortable sending originals. hes scared that they would get lost. i called they said they accept either certified or originals. why cant i send copies of originals? they dont accept that. they told me u have to get certified from the offices they were from- is there any other way plz help im very concerned.
