  1. Hey Guys! I need some clarification...

My husband has a K-1 Visa; we sent in our (on 3/9/09) AOS, EAD & AP before the status expiration date.

How long is the AP good for? How does that work?

Is it a stamp in the passport or a paper that you carry with you?

We just had our biometrics yesterday so hopefull we will get approval soon.

    Thanks!

  2. Hello!

My husband got all his shots and tb skin test this week; found a CS to transcribe it for $20 on to the I-6933A form but there is NO place to record his TB skin test. Can i just submit the paper the local health dept recorded it on?

They put it on a immunization for i printed off online.

 CAN THEY MAKE THIS PROCESS ANY HARDER?!?!?

    Thanks folks!

p.s. why do they not have the I-693A form on USCIS.gov? (husband had physical in haiti so no need for a new one.)

  3. My husband is a K1 Visa holder and we are researching schools so he can get a degree in Fire Science. We will be sending in his paper work for green card at the end of Feb.

One of the Community Colleges will let him attend as a regular student with out green card in hand; just reciept that he's applied for it.

Does that sound right to anyone else? I mean it will save us the $1,000 fee for being an international student if he wants to go with out a green card.

Two other schools (a 4yr and a University) have told me he needs to have the green card in hand or he will be considered a international student.

Can someone please share your experiance?? I don't want to do anything that will risk sending him back to Haiti.

  4. So we can get them from a family dr or health dept.????

Or does it have to be from a USCIS Civil Surgeon? I'm a little confused about that.

If we get the shots from the health dept do we still need to take that form to get transcribed/signed by a Civil Surgeon?

Thanks so much for your input!

Will need to get the required vaccinations or tested "Titer" tests for the required immunities. You will then get these new records transcribed to an I-693 by a US Civil surgeon.

Start with your family doctor or perhaps the local health department about vaccinations or tests. Call around for the best price.

You only need the correct vaccinations for your age group.

My wife got the required immigrations vaccinations just after her visa interview, before coming to the USA, we used that record when adjusting status.

  5. My husband (arrived with a K1 Visa) does not have any paperwork from the approved Dr who did his medical exam, only a card from his childhood saying he has had ONE shot. And i think its only for Rubella?

What do i do????? Does he just need shots? What kinda? Can someone help me find the answers we need?

We are ready to adjust to conditional permanent residency.

    THANKS!

  6. My drivers license expires in April and I will also need to change address and last name.

My fiancee currently lists his address on all forms with my parents address because that was my address before i moved. My drivers license still lists my parents address; i was going to wait to change it until after we are married.

So the question: Should we both list my new address on drivers license, EAD & I-485 so it all has my new last name and our current address?

We won't file for EAD & I-485 for maybe another month. We are getting married on January 24th '09.

  7. Has anyone ever called the Consulate to see if they have mailed packet #4/ letter with appointment date & time to their fiancee? I called today to see if they have done that. My fiancee filed his medical results and the other paper work listed in packet #3 on Oct. 16th and they told him they would call him with the date of his appointment; that was 3 weeks ago. When i called they asked me for a "pin number" and when i didn't have it (fiancee can't find it on receipt) the operator told me to call this number and pay $11 US for the pin number. Didn't sound right to me so i called to see what i would be told there and the man said the same thing. (he sounded like he was washing dishes while talking to me!!) Needless to say i didn't purchase a pin.

Is 3 weeks too long to wait for a letter? Any suggestions?

  8. Could someone please tell give me a ballpark timeline on how long you have to wait for the consulate to call my fiancee to tell him when his interview will be?

My fiancee has filed all the paperwork, medical tests and fee's.

Is it normal for them to call? Or do they send a letter?

The person who took his paper work said that the conculate would call by Nov. 9th.

Any thought or ideas are welcome!
