  1. Thank you guys for your quick answer.

Yes I did not receive my NOA (extension letter) yet. I did receive my ASC Biometric letter.

Is there any reason I did not receive it yet? I see most of you guys received the NOA before the ASC.

I know I have to wait 30 days but.. I am kinda freaking out, I am worried... Is there any reason they might not extend my green card? My husband keeps telling me not to worry but... I am.:crying: :crying:

I am in the same boat as you guys... will be waiting for the 30 days before I start calling USCIS.

My assumption is that NOA letter got lost in the mail somewhere and possibly returned to CSC.

Let's hope it will arrive before these 30 days pass.

    keep us posted

  2. Hi! When is your Biometrics Appointment? (so I can update your info on the list)

I've read about someone getting their Biometrics notice first and then their NOA came a few days later.

If you still haven't received your NOA after 30 days (from the date you filed), you should definitely call USCIS.

I've added you to the VSC list already! ^_^

    Fatima and JIm,

Thank you for updating the list for all of us!!!

My Biometrics appointment date is on February 3rd!!!

I will do as you say... will wait 30 days before starting to call them about my NOA letter... which I need to present at my work place to be able to continue working...

  3. I know that H2B visa can be extended for a different work contract for another couple of months, so in case you guys feel pressured by this short time left you might want to consider extending the H2B visa and meanwhile marry and prepare for your AOS process.

You don't need a lawyer for that, unless he has some previous issues with the visa or overstay or other difficulties that you think that you can't handle.

  4. The most important thing for the US embassy in Moldova, as everywhere else, is to prove strong ties to the home country, when applying for B2 tourist visa especially. They want to see a strong employment history there... a letter from employer related to his status with the company, how long is he working there, salary... anything they can think of in order to prove a steady income and a possible career. Also they want to see some property in his name... house, car, land, etc... If he is married he might want to bring pictures with his family, or maybe parents.

It is no need for you to send him your pay stabs, or income proofs... A letter of invitation from you would be enough.

    Good luck

  5. Congratulations to all those approved recently and those who finally passed the interview step!!

I am a bit worried myself cause we had our interview almost 2 weeks ago and were approved the same day, but we never received any emails or mail stating that... and there was no change on the online status of the application either(it still says Initial Review)....

On Monday we are moving and we did not do the change of address yet due to uncertainty of the new address, and the officer that was interviewing us said that anyway your card will be there during this 2 weeks that passed and if we change the address now could cause other issues... but it doesn't seem to be the case...

  6. Passed the interview today with no approval letter! The officer said she could not give me the approval letter, becasue FBI hadn't finished the name check! Don't know what to say. Frastrated. Never heard anything like this. I am very clean, no crime or anything like that ever. :(

They will probably approve it immediately after finishing the FBI background checking....

Just give it some time... I know that it is pretty frustrating but at least it is not a denial, right....

    How did the interview go?

  7. Sometimes it is; sometimes it isn't.

We looked on Craigslist & saw a post to work at a new cafe opening nearby. My husband applied last week, had interview this week, & got the job. That was the first place he applied.

To add to the blessing, it's a Jamaican restaurant... and he's FROM Jamaica. We didn't even know that when we applied.

    Congratulations, Minaadi! :star:

Your husband seems to be pretty lucky! good job!.....

I am still doing the interviews and applications all over..... still difficult.... transportation problems... and other petty stuff.... hope to get over them and start moving in the right direction.....

I know there are many like me somewhere out there.... good luck.... and let us know from time to time how the things work out for you

  8. We had our interview today in Irving Texas. It was the easiest part of the entire visa journey by now!!! APPROVED!

No questions asked but date of birth and the standard questions about : have you ever used illegal drugs,etc...

    So relieved at last!

Good luck to the rest of you waiting on their interviews

We are one of the last December AOS fillers... filled on Dec 31,2009... and hanging in between December and January fillers ... this is why I posted our experience on both topics... cheers
