I landed as a permanent resident of Canada, via spousal application, in June of 2009. Originally from South Dakota, I migrated north (well, east, actually) to be with my husband after we married in November of 2007.
As of December 2010, I have roughly 8 or 9 months left before I'm eligible to apply for Canadian citizenship, which is something we've been looking forward to since I landed. However, I desperately miss my friends, my family, and my old haunts in the U.S.; though I have nothing against Canada and like it well enough here, it's never quite felt like home and I've endured long, difficult bouts of depression due to my separation anxiety. For that reason, it's our ultimate goal to return to the U.S. and to gain American PR/citizenship for my Canadian husband.
We're just now beginning to attempt to weed through and understand just what that process will be. Everything I read makes my head hurt. :-/
