so you can apply 3 months earlier?
Yep, that's current process.
You may check M-476 and N-400 instruction from USCIS ( www.uscis.gov -> Immigration forms ).
http://www.uscis.gov/files/article/M-476.pdf
http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/N-400ins.pdf
These are most of things you have to know.
thanks for the link and the info!
so you can apply 3 months earlier?Actually, as warlord said, it's up to 90 days earlier, not 3 months. To be safe, wait an extra day or two if there's any doubt.
And yes, this is in the box at the bottom of page 22 of the M-476.
If you are applying based on 5 years as a Permanent Resident or 3 years as a Permanent Resident married to a U.S. citizen, you may file for naturalization up to 90 days before you meet the continuous residence requirement. For example, if you are applying based on 3 years of continuous residence as a Permanent Resident married to a U.S. citizen, you can apply any time after you have been a Permanent Resident in continuous residence for 3 years minus 90 days. You may send your application before you have met the requirement for continuous residence only. Therefore, you must still have been married to and living with your U.S. citizen spouse for 3 years before you may file your application. You must also meet all the other eligibility requirements when you file your application with USCIS.thanks aswell!

Read this guide: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRD
It tells you everything you need to send, and no it's not just the application (copies of front and back of PR card, copy of marriage license, copy of birth certificate of the US citizen spouse, copies of tax returns or transcripts, etc. etc. etc.)
Good luck! I'm sending my husbands packet today.
thanks you for the link. it was very useful! what type of other evidence did you include in your packet?

i'm preparing to send off my n-400 here soon. within the next week or so hopefully. i was wondering what kind of evidence or supporting documents are needed (if any)? Or can we just send the n-400 application? what did you guys/gals do? thanks in advance!!!!

you can apply 3 years after getting your green card, conditional or not...
3 years after the second green card am i correct? thanks!
no, 3 years after becoming a permanent resident... you are a permanent resident whether or not you have the 2 year conditional card (1st card) or the 10 year card (2nd card)...
okay let me get this right. (sorry if this is not registering for me). We just got her adjustment of status. she's been here roughtly 3 years already. We can already apply for naturalization? am i understanding this correct?
look at the date on her green card... 3 years after that date she can apply to be a citizen... she became a permanent resident after her adjustment of status was approved and received her green card...
i'm looking at her green card, and is it 3 years when the card expires or 3 years where it says "resident since"?

not sure if this is the correct area for site related questions. but i was wondering where i can change my email to a more current one that i have? i searched on the "my controls" but i could not find it. can we still change our current email?

i am in the process of getting together my i-751 form. and was about to write my check out. but realized that the price is increasing after july 30th 2007. so my question is, from the uscis website says the new total is 545.00. what i am unclear about is weither or not is that including biometrics fee already or not? maybe someone can clear this up. from the looks of it it's already included with the price. but i want to save myself the hassle. and make sure it's the correct amount either or. thanks everybody in advance!

i wanted to get started early so i woulden't have to be in a rush to get filing on our i-751 paper work. I wanted to make sure i didn't want to miss anything as far as evidence go before we send it off. my question is what did you guys send off as evidence that we are together? bank statements?, bills that come to the house with our names on it. anything else? or what should be sufficient? thanks in advance everyone!

i will remember this as well when i put together my i-751.

Hi, i am getting mixxed comments about traveling with a green card. is it true that if you travel out of the U.S., that you will NOT be qualified EVER when you get back to the U.S. to become a U.S. Citizen? thanks in advance everyone!
-
also, has anyone had the experience of having a green card going through pnomh penh airport back into the states?
-
haven't been on this thread in awhile. what happened to the original sawasdee thread?
-
Also, it would be a good idea to have her passport changed to reflect the married name if you haven't done so.
her name hasn't changed since being married. does this still apply?
-
She will use her Cambodian passport to enter Cambodia and her Green Card to enter the U.S. upon your return.
simple as that?

My Wife and I are planning on visiting her family here in the new future. I was wondering how we go about traveling with her Green Card? I know i have my U.S. Passport, But what about her? Will she travel with her current passport (Cambodia) and/with the U.S. Green Card? Will she be able to get back into the state okay? thanks in advance!!!
what's next?
