  1. Hi,

Me & my husband are so excited that we have received my GC (along with approve letter) in mail today 01/30/11. It was approved on 01/25/11 with email notification. It's a happy surprise that the GC comes this fast! Thanks for everyone's input during the whole process of the application. Best wishes to all:-)

Could someone please help me update my timeline - for unknown reason, the format was screwed after I was trying to type in. Sorry about that.

  2. [update]:

Thanks happilycontent to help in putting my timeline on the list.

I checked my on-line status on 11/20 (Saturday) morning and was able to see it finally!

Hope everything goes well. Good luck to everyone:-)

    Hi,

I was Trying to update my timeline, but the format was screwed! So I just type here, can someone help me to put on the table? Thanks.

    Date filed: 10/26/10

Date received with delivery confirmation: 10/28/10

    NOA Date (Receipt Date): 10/28/10

    Biometric letter Notice Date: 11/05/10

    Biometric appointment date:11/19/10

    Question:

After I'm done with my Biometric appointment this morning, I checked my case status online with the # on my Biometric letter, but it still cannot be found online. Is it normal?

I read from somewhere else that in most of the cases, the online status won't be found until Biometric is done - however, my case status is still not available after my appointment!

    Any advice is appreciated! Thanks.

  6. Hey guys, so we are getting ready for our interview in Atlanta next month and I have assembled some proof our relationship so to say but I want yall to help see if I am missing something.. We have ;

    * Originals of everything we mailed off to Chicago lock box

    * Gas bill in my wife's name

    * Our apartment lease with both of our names

    * Power bill in my name

    * Life insurance with both of our names

    * Health insurance for me alone because my wife is on Medicare so she fully covered under the medicare

    * Car insurance with both of our names

    * Wedding pictures and some more pictures of us at the Shakespeares and other places.

This is what we have got so far, please guys kindly tell me if we're missing something and PLEASE GUYS DON'T JUST READ THROUGH READ AND DROP ME YOUR PIEACE OF ADVICE..

    Thanks in advance

    Congrat on your interview!

I also passed my interview the same day on 01/13/09 and got approved! Yes, baby! But I now realized that I didn't get any "temporary evidence" regarding my greencard approval... makes me feel a little bit worried. Just wondering.. did you get a stamp on your passport or any kind of approval note after the interview?

It has been 2 days since then and I didin't receive CRIS Email regarding welcome or card production ordered, etc info yet. Also, my online status hasn't been updated yet - it still shows that my I-485 & I-130 is pending. Is that "normal"? Hope you can give me some clue. Thanks in advance.

Thanks and congratulation on your approval too. Well I didn't get any kind of official approval or something like that not even a stamp on my passport, all the IO said was everything looks good to her and that I should be getting my GC in about 60-90 days but I'm sure it's not gonna take that long and yea my online status hasn't change either it just been 2 days after the interview, maybe we should give it sometime, believe me honey I'm as worried as you are lol. But again I haven't seen or heard anyone got some kind of official approval if they didn't get the stamp, I'm sure if we there was a problem the IO would have told us I will say let's keep our fingers crossed

Thanks for the response. I feel more reliefed now, thanks again. Hope we all can get the GC in hand soon!

  8. Atlanta Interview Review:

    January 15, 2009 10:00AM

So after much nagging the and not much sleep the night before we left an hour early, it surprisingly only took 15 minutes. The Security line was HUGE so we got through and followed the information on the Interview notice to go to the 3rd floor. We waited for about 45 minutes for our name to be called and in the meantime started talking to the couple behind us and she said that we had to check in on the second floor. I PANICKED BAD! It was already 10 past 10 and I knew our name would be called. I flipped out so my husband and I went downstairs stated our case; she didn’t do anything except to tell us to go back upstairs. We go back up 2 minutes later and Guess what? Our names had been called while we left to go “Check in”! I was pissed off! Typical Immigration never giving you the right information and you are the one hurt for it.

So make sure you ask the security office where to go when you come in and he checks your notice.

Ok, so the IO comes out with a huge smile and was just the most pleasant man in the world. I walk in and there is this HUGE stack of papers (Both of my RFE Evidence) faced towards my chair. He laughed at my husband and said sarcastically “You sure you want to be married to her” LOL Told me he didn’t have time to shred that much paper so If I could kindly take that back with me. 

He started asking for all my papers and before he could finish I had them all there, the EAD, AP, Driver License, passport.

He asked my Husband his name, address, SSN. Super informal, My husband didn’t know the name of my birth mother (She left my dad when I was 1 I have never had contact with her) so I explained, asked him my Dad’s name (he got that wrong as well) “Men” I rolled my eyes and he laughed. Then asked me the same. Then flips through and him and my husband are talking about if he does these interviews does it get monotonous yadda yadda. He asks if we have kids and I joke yes my dogs…

He picks up the Photo Album looks through there. Then puts all my papers in a drawer and asks me if I am planning to leave the US in the next 4 weeks, so I said maybe. He then tells me it will be sent in 4-6 weeks (And winked at us while saying this and mouthed 4-5 days). Hubby asked about the stamp and they have changed their system so that the IO’s now have control putting the correct information on the Green Card that get electronically sent out to production. Which is Awesome!!!!???

Oh, at the end he goes “ Well I would go through the information for the Removal proceedings, but something tells me you already know all that” ! Shook my Hubbys had and Have a GOOD DAY!

    Congrat!!!!!!

I just passed my interview on 01/13/09 and got approved in Cleveland! Yes, baby! But I now realized that I didn't get any "temporary evidence" regarding my greencard approval... makes me feel a little bit worried. Just wondering.. did you get any kind of "approval note" after the interview?

  9. I don't understand how you were "granted" voluntary departure AND now have an AOS interview? I thought once departure of any kind that the aos process would've stopped...why were you "granted voluntary departure"?

  10. Hi guys, thanks for all the valuable info sharing! Deeply appreciate it:-) I got tiny question - may sound silly, but it's stressed during this waiting period - so hope someone could throw a light... I sent in my I-485/I-130/I-131/I-765 package and it's been received on 10/14/08. I havn't received any NOA receipt yet, but finally yesterday (10/21/08) they cashed my husband's check for I-130. However, the check for I-485 hasn't been checked - is that "normal"? I browsed so many posts, and it seems that everyone's checks for I-130 & I-485 are cashed SIMULTANEOUSLY, aren't they? Could anyone give me some advice? Thank you in advance.

P.S. My husband his check for I-130 and I wrote my check for I-485, we did it since we thought he's applicant for I-130 and I'm applicant for I-485, so by doing this won't get confused. But would it affect anything?

Do not give it too much thought, since they already cashed a check, it means they received it and they will be cashing yours in a couple of days, I do not see any problem on sending checks from different banking accounts, I also didn't see any problem on sending both checks from a sole bank account. Anyways, stop stressing and just overthinking, a check is a check and money will be money for USCIS.

Thanks for your words! I'm relaxing a bit now. I'll keep my finger crossed. Hope they'll cash my check ASAP

I have posted a topic on the same issue!!

I was a student on F-1 from 2003-2004 and did not finish school in the US.

I have been waiting for NOA2 for over 4 months at VSC

and it seems to be beyond the average processing time at VSC!!!!

It seems that normally people would receive NOA2 within 2-3 months

after they file the petition at Vermont so I have been wondering why.....

Have you entered the US after you returned to the UK??

My F-1 was good till 2007 but I was already back in my japanese university in 2005.

Whenever I was trying to enter the US at the custom, I would be always

sent to a different room by the officer. Their explanation was always

something like this "don't worry, we just neet to confirm something that does not

come up on the screen at the custom because you used to have a F-1 before!"

They would never tell me anything further though. I was never rejected to enter the US

but it has never been smooth since I returned to Japan.

S&D - I left/entered the U.S. several times (mainly because I came home to work during the summer recessess) and never forgot my I-20. I have entered the U.S. several times since on the VWP without the slightest hint of trouble.

What I'm starting to get a bad feeling about, is the fact that I worked whilst I was at the college, (and as such, already have an SSN) and this may be the issue. I would stress that my employment was perfectly legal under the conditions outlined in the I-20 (I was allowed to work 20-hours-a-week, provided it was on campus, and for minimum wage) but I'm thinking that USCIS have checked my SSN, seen some moolah registered against it, and considered it suspicious.

    Could that be it?

Hi, Thanks for sharing your experience. Did you finally get your NOA2?

I got another question, hope you could give me some clue.

Could you please let me know whether you put your on-campus job in the column of 'Applicant's emplyment last five years' in the G-325A form? And if so, do you need to provide any document regarding this matter?

I worked as a TA back in school last semester, and I just wanna know whether I should include it as "employment" history? since as you mention - F1 is not supposed to have any employment history during the study, though the TA/RA job is on-campus and is absolutely legal, but I was just a little worried about whether this "employment" history would "confuse" USCIS if I put it in G-325A)

    Thanks in advance.

  13. Hmmmm see that's tricky. I say include it, the worse that could happen is you get an RFE for more information. But technically it's legally earned income.

I'm an incoming PhD student this semester (but with no EAD card yet). Most people say you give up your F1 status when you apply for AOS but the school always requires you maintain it and the advisors say if the AOS doesn't work out you could stay on F1. It's really just a gray area. Most lawyers themselves don't have a definitive answer.

I have a constant income of 20K per year. And I got RFE for not sufficient funds..

Hi, Sorry if I ask a dumb question:-) I think I got similar condition as you do in terms of stipend income, so hope you could give me some clue... Could you please let me know whether I should include my TA/RA work from the stipend income in the column of 'Applicant's emplyment last five years' in the G-325A form? And if so, do I need to provide any document regarding this matter? (P.S. I won't use this income in I-864, just wanna know whether I should include it as "employment" history - since F1 is not supposed to have any employment history during the study, though the TA/RA job is on-campus and is absolutely legal, but I was just a little worried about whether this "employment" history would "confuse" USCIS if I put it in G-325A)

    Thanks in advance.
