Hi all
got my GC valid till 2020 in the mail yesterday
Going to scan the mailer in addition to keep it to speed application
in case I lose it.
Nice high tech card.
Nervous about losing it.
Am I supposed to go around with it or keep it at home?????
Courage to the ones waiting for their visa!

Can you call the embassy for your situation?
or ask the uk forum?
do you have other papers allowing you to travel back to your home?
in France they keep passport and ship it with a fedex enveloppe
maybe embassy can keep and you come and collect
maybe you can get it shipped
imagine it could be 2-5 days if no issue
I don t know specifically UK
about getting into US
you need your passport back
French and others can use visa waiver prooving strong ties
whether they have your immigrant visa or not
is UK included in Visa Waiver Program, isn't
personnally I did go under VWF while having visa
did not want US residency in 2009
With Green card US residency (and taxes liability) starts first of Jan (I think) regardless of the date you get in the US
I am careful about saying things I don t know because rules change
from coountry to country or case to case or with time
-
is your usc with you in the UK and you are filing at the embassy then maybe
else if your usc is out of UK and filing will be at service centers in the US then 5 months is pretty optimistic. it varies. for me it was about 14 months.

did you see latest rule dated Feb 1st 2010?
http://www.visajourney.com/news/2010/02/07...eived-together/
so if both i130 and i129f approved together (NOA2) K3 dies
(if I129F only approved CR1/IR1 continues dying)
practically will depend on noa2
but if uscis continues approrving both at the same time in general
K3 is virtually dead
while I must say it had some advantages

ps
you could update your timeline and signature maybe?
Good luck!

I would read again very carefully the instructions
knowing that you have to comply with them either with documents you bring or documents nvc got
I remember Part of the instructions you receive are very specific (like A O checklist)
Then other part of the instructions Paris embassy sends is not specific to IR/CR1 through US Service Centers but more or less like the DCF instructions listing all documents from A to Z petition process. that can be confusing
Each case can be slightly diffferent
personally I think the specific instructions were more or less a summary and no new documents were required but my memory can be wrong
what I remember well is that
I brought copies of documents previously sent
also the originals when copies had been provided
also more recent employment letters / irs returns as time had passed since documents sent to NVC
and passport pictures
and chronopost enveloppe
were the most recent documents necessary not sure, but the lady took them saying very well
if I remember well I also brought more recent police document or mariage certificate
but they were not needed per embassy instructions. It was just in case and because they cost little to have.
conclusion
read it carefully but with a flexible mind
-
From there BOTH applications are sent to NVC and the CR1 stays there and the K3 is forwarded directly to the embassy BOTH APPLICATION ARE PROCESSING
I would correct that it is true in general
there are some exceptions I have seen where only the K3 received NOA2 while I130 never received it.
technically it has to be at the same time, else I130 dies when K3 receives NOA2

Happy for you.

about her getting birth certificate
the mother of my husband obtained them without difficulty. So my husband did not have to travel back to get it.
-
Thanks
husband sent me the SRC number
I waas able to access
told welcome had been sent on 01-28
and Green card should arrive within 60 days
-
Thank you!
still looking for the place on USCIS site
husband has not scanned....
is it written on the letter?
what about tracking SSN?
maybe there is no place??
saw that people call the USCIS number
see that GC arrives in some time
Maybe it not so important as I have my passport stamped.
more important is the SSN
Read that SSN should come within a month
but some people not receiving just went and applied for a card to get it in a week
If not received in 2 weeks I might ask directly for one???

Does not matter how much you earn
for I864 (see form) he needs to earn a minimum or he needs to find a cosponsor (dad?)
Why not K1 instead of CR1?
K1 is faster to be together
But I am not sure you can work after K1 until Adjustment of status done
and basically the bunch you do during CR1 you have to do it after being together.
So CR1 might be simpler maybe.

Hi all
I processed my IR1 visa on Jan 9
so I have my passport with the visa stamped now
no more worries to go through immigration I guess
I am currently back to France
(visa is not the onlyy hurdle, wrapping up in your country is another....before starting well over there)
Husband tells me I received a welcome letter and a tracking number
Has not scan it to me yet (he does not like paper....)
can I do anything with that tracking number?
Have not received SSN yet!
returning Saturday (fev 6) for a entry through Minneapolis
Thanks

If with the US citizen (spouse) I am sure you can go the citizen line
I was with my son, US citizen
I had been told previously at previous entrances under Visa Waiver I could go through the citizen line when with him.
Showing my visa to be processed I was sent to the visitor line
went down up till the end of the citizen queues and the beginning of the visitors and saw a citizen line a little hidden with only a person in the queue
went there
was quick
at secondary inspection it was also quite quick
about 5 people before me
done in 20 minutes
I was happy because I had only 2 hours to connect

Good advice from Vanessa and Tony.
you need to think about all the steps to go through. To go through NVC, or direct filing in Australia your fiance will to do demonstrate she can sustain you in the US I864 or Affidavit of Support. Don t forget that. Either with revenue or asset or she will have to get a cosponsor (her parents) ready to sustain you.
Will she be able to do it? Or convince her parents or somebody else?
See I864 form about Affidavit of Support
Also why don t you go K1?
not forgetting the other good advice of Vanessa
check with your peers and on the statistics and feedbacks about Australia specificities

By submitting I129F you are on the K3 path and you dropped CR1 and lost your i130 line.
Generally you can later restart CR1 but after going through the K3 line up to NOA2 and if Service center gives NOA2 at the same time for K3 and I130 (2 simultaneous NOA2s) . You do so by dropping K3 at embassy level. (i did it) Except sometimes only the K3 NOA2 comes out (no luck). When restarting CR1 it will be at NVC level that is what is fast for K3s but less fast for CR1.
See the wikis and flowcharts for more.

9 years 1 year 10 days does not matter
supposing your kids are us citizen they don t need visa
your husband has to file I130 for you
the sooner the better
eventually the so called Direct filing of I130 in Canada while he still is in canada is the fastest track
if he leaves Canada then he has to file either at Vermont or California Center.
Maybe he should contact the US embassy in Canada
I recommend you look at Direct filing and Canada info on this site.
Personally just got through activation of my green card.My husband had already left France when he filed ( we had a weird situation )
and he filed at Vermont center. They took their time, we took ours.
it was 18 months ago
I have been able to go through multiple times under Visa waiver program
At first for business purpose, then as visitor
sometimes officer would not ask / not notice
once I had to show my ties to France to demonstrate I was not going to stay

Hi
I plan to get in and activate green card on Jan 9
then I will be flying back to France end of Jan
and will come back Feb 8th
question 1a)
any issue that maybe I will not have received green card before I fly to France end of Jan?
question 1b)
should I delay activation to february (visa is valid till March)
though I may need to fly again who knows
also husband still has his old address (of parents) on nvc file
I have the same on my visa papers
should we notify of change of address or keep old address
it may be weird to keep the old one as it is not the same state and will not match address
I give when flying
it may be trouble also to change because it is not the one on my visa papers
question 2
what do you think?
should we notify of change of address?
thanks

All I can say is I know your right.Im tired of being the whipping girl cause something does not go right or as thought.
I dont control USCIS , but yet he thru it all back in my face when we left interview with no approval or even a denial.
Now I wonder, what was the past 3 years for? Why this journey? Looks like I keep meeting the same kind of man over and over.
Love ya all, and thank you!! xoxoxo
Have you considered speaking with a therapist about this?
I'm really sorry about the situation. Its better to have "lost" 3 years, then have 10+ years of pain and debt.
((Paris Heart))
Therapist? Great, now I need help? Forget it, some are not meant to have families, Im one of them.
Im a good person, always counted on to make and do the right things, Im tired of being counted on. Im a good person, too big hearted, hard worker, worked for all I have in this world, nobody gave me anything, just heartche.
All in all, bottom line, if you love a person, you dont shut them out, you communicate one way or another, in good and bad. You dont hurt a person on purpose just to show a superior statue. Im human, Im not perfect, but I never hurt a person to "teach them a lesson" especially on matters of the heart. Im through, Im tired, beat up mentally, I just want to know there is kindness, and respect, and honestly between men and woman who truly love each other.
Beth
you are a great woman.
sure you can have families
but maybe not with this man
and yes you can learn from this for the next one
maybe it is better as I said that you part no
are you letting embassy know that you need them not to issue the visa
don t want you to get in more trouble
if he gets his visa then remember he can ask you to support him
seems he showed bad sides of him
I understand you should not zant him around
sorry for these hard words
worried for you

Maybe better now than later.

Hi all
National hotline tried to look me up and did not see me after 5 weeks
then gave me the phone number of the local center
I called the local center.
they did not find me and told me to come and file ss5
I went to file the same day
told me it should be 2 weeks, maybe 4 for ssn card due to baltimore center issues from storm?
