Well I'm finally pleased, and proud, to have reached the pinnacle of my Visa Journey.
The oath ceremony at the Seaport Convention Center in Boston today was attended by 1,875 others along with their guests. We arrived at around 11am for an 11.30 start but the process was held up until 2pm because "some things weren't going right" according to the USCIS Acting Field Office Director. During the delay he invited people up to sing, some were great, others not so! But then it does take guts to perform in front of a huge audience.
The Color Guard from the USS Constitution presented the Colors and the Acting Field Office Director from Providence played the Star Spangled Banner exceptionally well! The local Federal District Judge was entertaining a bunch of Egyptian Judges who also attended. We had the customary word from the President and that was it. So after a three hour-ish wait we were all over and done with in around a half-hour.
Thanks to the entire VJ community, I've managed to get from K1 to Citizen without any lawyers, the only hiccup was an incorrectly issued RFE way back in the AOS process.
I'm so proud that all is done, and I hope that everyone else gets to reach the end of their journeys soon!

Attended my interview today, what should have been a day of celebration for me in Boston has been clouded over by what happened with the explosions at the finish line of the marathon.
My interview was very quick, spent just over 10 minutes with the IO. Asked the questions, read and wrote the quote, then ran through the application. And like jay & ken, have my oath next week the 25th.

I think mine and n1dom have the same progress. This day is Boston marathon day, it'd be difficult to move around Boston. :-( Good luck.

Hooray! I'm glad we're running together with this! My appointment is at 2pm so we may bump into each other.
I was pretty shocked to see that the appointment was on Marathon Monday, I would've thought the Federal Building would be out with the State workers for Patriots Day!
Still, at least the interview date is set.

As an aside, the electronic debit thing annoys me... back when I filed the I-129F for my then-fiancee's K-1, I was able to get the receipt number from the online check image well before the paper NOA1 showed up in the mail. No more, apparently.

Can you please give me advice on the easiest way to get a US Bank account. The doucments of ID I have are:
UK password with Green Card stamp
SSN
Birth Certificate
By next Friday - tenancy agreement
UK driving license

Hope you've sorted this by now, but I opened a bank account in Massachusetts in 2008 during a visit. I was not a resident at that time and the bank accepted my passport as appropriate identification. The Patriot Act provides for each financial institution to develop their own procedures to identify customers and it would appear that the bank you applied to decided that they want state IDs.
Different banks have different requirements and, should the bank procedures allow, the Patriot Act would allow for someone to open an account by just obtaining references and no photo IDs. It's a flexible piece of legislation and for those in doubt Section 326 of the Act has all the details.

Nick+Heather glad to hear that the nightmare is nearly over for you, it concerns me that there's been so many issues with medical RFEs for a variety of reasons. It's almost like USCIS took a correspondence course in incompetence and passed with flying colours. I took the chance of questioning the IO regarding mine and did get the response that I was looking for insofar as it was incorrectly issued. However I have doubts that the facts will ever filter up or down the chain to improve things for others in the future.
Gemmie, keep on motoring and good luck with the interview. Those rejections, whilst a little disheartening, at least let you know where you stand. I've had only one rejection out of over 30 applications to date, so I'm like an eager puppy still when the mailman calls!
Still, it's turning out to be a gorgeous evening in Boston, ideal for a stroll after being marooned since Sunday! 60F and sunny tomorrow....

I suggest making an infopass appointment and asking them to check your A file where the medical should be. if it's not there then the embassy needs to contact your doctor in the UK to get another copy sent OR you need to do the medical.
The reason I say this is because someone did what the PP suggested and was denied her AOS and she is still fighting it. Here's her thread: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=237821 which explains what she's done since to try and fix it.
The 3025 is the vaccination sheet. The 2053 is your MEDICAL. it means they've lost it or can't find it. It's in the "A" file which is the file that you handed in POE

What I meant about the chickenpox is it might be easier to convince your doc who knows you to write down a history over telling a stranger at the medical. My husband told his nurse who was getting his other records listed, "my mum said I had chickenpox in December of 19xx." So when she prepared the immunization list, she wrote on it Chickenpox Dec 19xx. It's just something to try if you're seeing the doc to get a list anyway. I wouldn't make a special effort just for that.
I didn't have any vaccination records but IIRC when I went for the medical at Knightsbridge Doctors, the nurse asked me if I'd ever had chicken pox, to which I responded yes. And that was that, it was marked down on the form as VH with the waiver request box ticked.

As you will see from my feedback and timeline my journey has been a jumble. Be very selective to pick a attorney (if you are going to have one). It's very handy to have an attorney, it helped us allot with documents writing etc BUT she was a completed B.!.T.C.H. I monitored everything she did. Even resisted when she said don't call NVC, I ignored this and good thing I did. To date, she hasn't even followed up if I have received my visa of not.
We paid a total of $1,750. I mean it was good I hired a attorney, but this women is rubbish!! I have sent a huge complaint letter to her boss.
It sounds like more of a $1,750 case for NOT hiring a attorney!
