Hello all, I would really appreciate if anyone can answer my question. My stepdaughter is from Thailand , I applied for and received a approval notice for her I130 on January 15th. The letter stated it was then being forwarded to the NVC and then sent to the embassy in Thailand. My question is, will my stepdaughter receive a letter from the embassy? will I receive a letter being the petitioner stating it was forwarded to the embassy? Any replies would be greatley appreciated!

Does anyone have an idea what they could want?? I called them and they said I have to wait for the letter and it might take 2 weeks. Anyone have a simliar request for there I130 before? Thanks

I am a US citizen I sent out the I130 in the beginning of June to bring my unmarried 14 yr old stepdaughter over from Thailand, my check was cashed June 14th, it is July 22nd now and nothing from USCIS, how long should I expect to wait for NOA1? Can I call and get a receipt number??? Thanks Pete and Nutchanat from Chicago.

You shouldn't have any problems traveling. After you apply to remove conditions, the 1st NOA you receive will extend the GC for one year. Have that handy with the original GC when your wife returns to the US.
Thats is good to know because we plan to go to Thailand in May and we were worried that the GC wouldnt be there on time, so after the first NOA it automatically extends the temporary GC?

Hello all my wife is from Thailand unfortunately we will be sending our I751 out on Sept 1st, I have to send it to NSC so from what I have been reading it takes about 8 months to receive the green card. My question can we travel out of the country while we are waiting for the 10 yr green card? Thanks, Pete and Nutchanat from Chicago.

I would like to have my 15 year old stepdaughter come for a month visit in October, I was wondering what form I need to file for a tourist visa. My wife is a permanent resident and we filed a I130 for her last year, but while we wait we would like for her to come and visit every year. Any suggestions?

I filed a I130 back in January of this year on behalf of my wife. My wife is a permanent resident. She came from Thailand April 2005 on a k3 visa. Now we want to bring her 13 yr old daughter from Thailand. Does anybody have a reasonable idea of how long it will take? Thanks Pete
Pete, can you please clarify?
Your wife did not get here without already having an I-130 filed for her (in 2004/2005?).
You yourself might be able to petition for her daughter--have you looked into that?
My wife came here in Apr 05 on a k3, we waited around 10 months for her. This year in January I looked on how to get my stepdaughter here. My wife became a permanent resident in Nov 05, so I figured I had to file a I130 permanent resident applying for unmarried son or daughter under 21. I have no idea if I can sponsor my stepdaughter because there was no form for that.
